9:20

Congratulation, players. You've made it though another day without getting paid.

Fred Berger had pocket 9's. Grant Lang, pocket 2's. With a deuce on the flop, the night ended. 27 come back tomorrow to sweat 9 more, THEN they start getting paid.

Chip counts and seat assignments to follow. Thank you for your patience. This one wasn't what you'd call action-packed.

9:05

The first day chip leader curse holds up. Adam Cirnigliaro was too short stacked to get T J Cloutier off an A Q. Adam's pocket Kings were no good on the flop when the dreaded Ace hit. Adam was 28th.

Rafael Perry is Russian. We used to know him as Peroskin. He took pocket 8's up against pocket 10's and was last scene rushin' for the rail in 29th.

One more to go tonight.

8:40

Brad Daugherty is going a lot of practice working a short stack. He just made it into the money last week in San Jose. He fell just short tonight in 31st. Brad was all-in with A 2 and lost to pocket 10's.

Jean-Robert Bellande like to be called 'Bobby' but his table demeanor is so obnoxious, players have other names in mind for him. Bellande, by his own admission, likes to irritate the players at his table. Tony Ma is not someone who tilts easily, but when he made Kings hold up against Bellande's Queens, Tony Ma yelled and clapped his hands. He obviously took extra pleasure in who he beat. Ma gets even for his friend and countryman, David Pham, who 'Bobby' knocked out.

30 left going to 27. The bubble is inflating for Day 3.

8:15

Back from the dinner break, my buddy John Stolzmann is out in 33rd when he made a flush on the river with the wrong card in a 150k pot. The Ace of Clubs rivered giving Alan Schein Jacks full of Aces perfect perfect--Jack, Ace. Then Schein gave most of John's former chips to Kevin Keller on the next hand in a 200k pot. Keller takes the chip lead.

Dinner break with 33 left playing to 27 tonight.

6:20

What almost always happens in tournaments, the players I can't name disappear. Success in these things is duplicatable. Whereas it's difficult to break through. Only Nam Le is out from my list. We're down to 34 players with 20 minutes to go to dinner. We'd need a couple bust outs in the next few minutes to play through the scheuled dinner break.

Phil Hellmuth came by after his run to "...get rid of the aces." I told him I rated his tantrum a 3, he said it was a 9. "I went nuts, believe me." I've seen many of his 9 tantrums, MAYBE this was a 4.

5:50

I'd have to make stuff up, to give you a story. With the blinds so low at 600/1,200, nobody's doing much. Alex Prendes is gone with pocket 7's against T J Cloutier's pocket 10's. Other than that the chips are just washing around the table. 50 minutes to dinner. So it may be a couple of hours until we see enought players leave to get to the money.

Some of the more famous of the 37 players left. Average stack, 60,000.

5:00

Suddenly some excitement. On two tables withing minutes, Aces and Kings all-in. Alex Prendes triples up with Aces. The third player in the hand was the day's beginning chip leader 21-year-old Adam Cirnigliaro. He went all-in over the top drawing very thin with Ace King. Adam looks to have about 40k left.

On the next table Steve Kopp picked up the rockets and eliminated Javier Quinonis with pocket Kings.

The baiting seems to have worked for Jean-Robert Bellande. He got David Pham to raise all-in on a gutshot semi-bluff against Ballande's trip Kings. 'Hollywood' Jean-Robert got his SAG card for the acting job he did on a world-class player in Pham.

40 players left. Average stack is 55,000.

One more level until dinner. If they get close to the 27, dinner may be postponed so everyone can go away for the night.

4:40

Nothing happening, sorry. Except for David Pham and Jean-Robert Bellande jawing at each other.

No new famous exits. The chips are barely moving.

The table told me that Phil Hellmuth underbet his Aces that's why he lost. I may have to upgrade the tantrum index, though, as Chad Layne said that the names Phil called were "unbelievible" lol. How this guy has avoided being punched out amazes me.

4:00

Imagine playing 10 9 suited! Phil Hellmuth couldn't imagine that someone was call him with trash like that! Phil is out to Chad Layne when Chad flopped two 9's for trips while Phil had pocket Aces. Not much of a tantrum by Hellmuth standards. I rate it a 3 on his 10 scale.
