OH NO!  As soon as I checked on him, he ran into a wall.  Dane fired 22K at the pot and Rich called.  The small blind stayed in as well.  The flop came the 4 5 6 .  The small blind checked, as did Dane.  Rich moved all in, the small folded and Dane gave it some thought and called the big move.  He turned over the K J and RIch the made hand, the 8 8.  A king came on the turn with a 3 on the river, and the kings take the pot and send Rich home.  It was a pleasure to meet you and watch you play this week Rich.  Tell your family Hi for me!

44  Rich Murnick     Montclair   NJ      $14,783

Monday, 30th of January 2006 10:11 PM

My friend, Rich Murnick took a little hit to his chip stack, but he is still very much in the hunt.  My other friend, Louise Francouer was looking down at felt and doubled up.  She then got in another hand and picked up quite a few more chips.  Give her any more boys and you are looking trouble right in the face!

When the one seat raised in the small blind, Mark Schaech in big thought he was going for the steal. Sooooo....he moved all in.  Ooops.  The small turned over pocket aces and Mark showed the QJ.  He caught a J, but no more help arrived.

I was talking to a young player, Will Tong and he said this is his first big tournament ever.  He decided to try and play a satellite and then decided against it because it was $500.  He was throwing out an old wallet and was looking in the credit card compartment, not the money one and found three $100 bills.  He was ecstatic.  He took those three  $100 bills  and added two more and entered a super sat.  He caught a seat.  Well, here he is now, coming into the day with 59K, sitting at over 400K and smiling like a cheshire cat.  Good luck young man....you certainly have the luck going for ya!

Dane Jorgensen raised to 45K and Nick Feoli decided to push all in.  Dan immediately if not soon called with his A A .  Nick showed the A K  and was looking for a miracle.  The board tried, as it came the Q T 2 .  It then brought the 4 T and Nick was out.

My buddy Rich Murnick just pushed all in with a pair of sevens and got a caller.  He said he didnt think the guy was that strong, but, he turned over pocket kings.  Not good.  However, as luck has it, a 7 fell on the river.  A player just came to tell me that it was pure good fortune for Rich as he was holding the case 7 and Rich was drawing at a one outter.

Mike Sica finally hit a hand and has a huge grin on his face.  He has gotten popped time after time and remains the same kind gentleman he always is.  It is about time one came through for you sir!

59  Tommy Wang         White Plains, NY    $12,935

Dane Jorgensen drops Tommy Wang from competition when his K Q  held up over Tommy's Q T .  Tommy made a move all in and unfortunatly for him Dane came over the top to make it heads up.

I will have to say, out of all the players I have watched play professional poker, the one player who stands out as the most solid I have seen is Denis Ethier.  I watched him for the first time at the WSOP last year as he took a gold bracelet.  I have had the opportunity to watch him in many events and he plays as solid as they come.  He has been steadily growing his stack, making moves at the right time and patiently waiting for his opportunities to take advantage of other players mistakes.  I am hoping he makes it to the final table so you guys have an equal opportunity to watch this man in action.

Don Mullis makes a move and doubles through Andy Black.  We saw a flop of the 6 2 3 .  Don put it all in the middle and Andy called.  Don had the Q J and Andy a 7 2 for a pair.  The turn brought a J for Don and with a K on the river, Don doubled up.

Gene Todd shows no mercy.  He took out Daniel Yanofski by making quads.

The flop had the K Q 3 with two hearts and James Flether bet out for 20K.  Scotty Nguyen pushed all in for 150K and James called him.  Scotty had the nut heart draw with the A 8 and James had a pair of jacks.  No big cards and no hearts for Scotty.  He goes home in 66th.

Mark Natais takes out Chris Fargis with a pocket pair of sevens that held up.

For 75th, Gene Todd and his pocket aces held up to take out Vinod Vanigmalla.

Ted Forrest is out on the bubble against Gene Todd.  We have our 75 winner!  The flop showed the 2 2 6 .  Ted bet 12K and Gene raised to 30K.  Ted went to all out alert and all in status.  Gene called.  Ted showed the6 7  and Gene the K 5 .  The turn brought a flush card for Gene and that was all she wrote.

We go on break for 15 minutes and come back to Level 13 with 400 antes and 1500 / 3000 blinds

Monday, 30th of January 2006 04:54 PM

Oh baby.  Frank Vizza raised to 8K and Ylon Schwartz pushed all in for 28K and got the call.  Frank had JJ and Ylon the AQ.  Ylon caught the ace and now sits at abut 60K.  Poker gods are lubbin' you kiddo!

Michael Hickman is out 78th.

Hours of waiting and moments of sheer terror....dats poker folks! Ylon is the big blind, UTG raised to 7,200, around to Tommy Wang and he makes it 25K to go. The blinds bow out and UTG, Chris Fargis moved all in for about 35K more. Tommy Wang called. He showed the K K and Chris the A K . Another killer board .... the 7 J 5 Q and drum roll..... the A . Chris doubles through Tommy Wang and is breathing with ease again.

Chris Fargis

Monday, 30th of January 2006 04:49 PM

YOU GO YLON!!!! The player in front of him raised to 8K and Ylon moved all in for 10,300. Folded around to the original raiser, he called and turned over a pair of tens. Ylon showed big slick. The board was so classical it hurt....5 Q T for the set 2 and the J for broadway and a takedown for Ylon Schwartz. He doubles up and stays alive.

78 players and we are hand for hand.

Monday, 30th of January 2006 04:19 PM

Drat. Another super nice guy, Ylon Schwartz, who has been playing a very strong steady game just got popped. He is still in the game, but, man, what a terrible time for this to happen. He pushed all in with pocket jacks and caught a set on the flop. His nemisis had pocket kings and on the river found his set.

Ylon Schwartz

Cliff Josephy is still chip leader with over 400K. Eugene Todd and Erick Lingren are not far behind. Marc Natails is deep in chips too. Alan Schein, Bill Kaczynsky, Bill Edler and Frank Vizz are all looking good.

Denis Ethier has been playaing short pretty much the entire tournament and has begun to make a move. Good luck Denis...Im pulling for ya!

Players take a 15 minute break and we move to level 12 with a 400 ante and 1200 /2400 blinds.

Right before the blind, we lose "Action Bob" Hwang. Richard Kirsch made a set of eights to beat Action Bob's hand.

Awwwwwwwww man. Steve Dannemann was doing so well and he just got the rug pulled out from under him. He was holding an A Q and bet at the pot receiving a call from Mike Maler. The flop came the Q 9 6 and Steve bet 16K. Mike moved all in and Steve called. Seat 1 showed the J T for an open ended straight draw. The 2 came on the turn and the stinky K on the river. Tough luck Steve. Who loves ya man? Thanks for your kindness. Steve Dannemann is out.

Monday, 30th of January 2006 03:19 PM

91 players now

The next hand Andy Black double through Richie Aquinto when his 6 6 took down Richie's T T . Andy got all in after the flop of the 9 6 A . He is a lot happier now I think. OK. I know.

Andy Black went head to head with John Juanda. Andy had bet 28K at the pot and John came over the top for another 55K. The board showed the 2 3 9 . Andy finally folded.

"Syracuse" Chris Tsiprailidis has left the building.

"Syracuse" Tsiprailidis sits by Freddy

Tex Barch, who I inadvertantly took out of the game earlier, just doubled through my good buddy Mike Sica. Mick still has about 50K, but, it hurt.

It was another case of the J J doing the deed. Tex had the J J and Mike the A T. The board had a T but for the 30K all in move by Tex, it was a good bet.

JJ Liu and Tommy Wang go to battle. JJ has the J K and Tommy Wang a made hand with the J J . The board came all little and the jacks held up knocking JJ Liu out of the event.

Steve Brecher came over and tried to make a shot at the waste basket for a two pointer..and missed. It wasnt long after that when he tried to make a hand and did the same. Steve Brecher is out.

We hit the loot at player 75 and we are now approaching 90 remaining contenders. Once we get down to around 80 or so, we will begin to play hand for hand so as not to give anyone an unfair advantage.

Monday, 30th of January 2006 02:36 PM

Steve Dannemann was peering at felt an hour or so ago and now has built his stack back to a healthy 95K. WTG Stevie!

Players back from break. Level 11 is underway. The ante is 300 with 1K / 3K blinds.

Monday, 30th of January 2006 01:50 PM

Mike Borovetz is done when his top pair is broiled by a flush.

David Williams is outta here.

Dont know much but apparently David bet at the pot and his opponent made an all in move over the top of him. David instantaneouly called and the opponent turned over pocket rockets for a set. David tossed his cards to the muck before the turn and river hit the board so he was obviously drawing dead.

Monday, 30th of January 2006 01:32 PM

With the flop showing the T 5 7 a player made it 8K to go and Matt Matros who was now sitting with only 23,200 moved all in. The opponent stood up and said, "I call..if you have top pair you have me". Matt showed the 6 6 and the opponent the 8 8 . The river and turn brought the T 9 and we lose Matt Matros.

We near the 120 mark. Dropping like flies now.

Carlos Mortensen passes the table looking sad and is leaving. He was down to the felt and got his last 9600 in with a pair of pocket sevens. He did get business from an opponent who held the K J. The flop brought big stuff, the A Q T for broadway. Carlos is all but dead. Without running sevens, nothing can help. Needless to say THAT didnt happen.
