Page 3 of 3 Hand 32-Lee Markholt raises Bryant King and Daniel call. A 3 9 flop; 60K from Lee, call from Bryant, Daniel folds. Turn 5 Lee is all-in for 136K, Bryant is growlin' & snarlin' & asniffin' the air----he calls! Bryant has J T , Lee has AK for a pair of Aces, Bryant needs a club on the river but no club. And Lee Markholt doubles up to about 300K. Trying to be impartial right now is not easy, there are four players at this final table in deep trouble and they are all hoping to find some cards to slow Daniel Negreneau down. Hand 31-Raise from Daniel Negreanu, rereaise all-in from Lee Markholt for 149K more, Daniel lays it down. Drinks and decaf tea have arrived at the final table. Hand 30-Brandon Adams moves all-in from the SB after a 12K on the button from Bryant King, the all-in is 143K, Bryant lays down a solid pair of deuces. Friday, 27th of January 2006 04:38 PM Hand 29-Lee Markholt takes it down with a pre-flop raise. Yes, the over/under for our finish time tonight has been lowered; side bets are being renegotiated. Hand 28-Brandon Adams makes it 30K; Bryant King raises to 100K, Brandon folds. Daniel has about 1.25 million; Brian has around 100K after that last hand. Friday, 27th of January 2006 04:27 PM Hand 27-Brian Lamkin makes it 25K; Danel Negreanu makes it 100K; Brian calls; A Q 4 , check check, turn 6 . 100K from Daniel call by Brian 5 Daniel bets 260K on the river and Brian takes a moment and takes another and takes yet a third (three moments equals 5 minures)before he calls, Daniel shows Aces and Queens, Brian mucks and that was a pot of 938,000 pot. Does anyone else see the writing on the wall? |

Sorry folks that last big hand was also the last hand at the previous level and some internet fuzz, we will be back in 5 at 1000 ante 6000/12000 blinds Friday, 27th of January 2006 03:59 PM Two pre-flops takedowns for Brandon Adams and then a hand! Its Wendell Barnes and Daniel Negeanu doing that thing they did so many times yesterday. Wendell made the pre-flop raise and Daniel called. the Flop was A39 and Wendell bet out 50K that Daniel called. On the turn another 9 falls and Wendell moves all-in and shows A3 for two pair but Daniel shows Pocket ACES! and a full house. The case nine on the river gives Wendell Nines full of Aces but Daniel has Aces full of Nines. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the kid from Canada played that hand like he may know a bit about the game.

Friday, 27th of January 2006 03:05 PM I have no idea if I am going to do every hand, let's see how it goes. Robert Schulz raises to 26K, Bryant King reraises all-in and Robert folds (5). Hand #4 pre-flop raise from Brian Lamkin (40K) all fold. Kia Mohajera wins hand #3 with a pre-flop 30K raise. Robert Schulz reraises all-in from the SB and takes down hand #2. Friday, 27th of January 2006 02:54 PM Hand #1 to Daniel Negreanu after a pre-flop raise of 10K, he bets out on the flop and gets the fold. Friday, 27th of January 2006 02:51 PM Button is in the two seat, 60 minutes left in this round, 1000 ante 4000/8000 blinds and yes cards are in the air. Friday, 27th of January 2006 02:24 PM Still 'mikin-up' the players, we are probably 10-15 minutes from cards. We began Day One with 241 players upstairs in the WSOP Grand Tournament poker room. It took just under 12 hours (6 levels) to get us to the 77 players who would move on to Day Two. We play was fast and furious on Day Two and we spent just 7 hours narrowing the field to the final 27. Day Three, yesterday, we moved down here to the Grand Event Center with a feature table and lots of ESPN coverage. Yesterday was a slow, slow day; we had to move through nine 'out-of-the-money' players before we hit the prizepool. That took just over five hours. Once we reached the top 18 & 'in-the money' that is a bit unusual but indicates that we have a lot of players who are shooting for the Top or Bust. We reached the Final Nine at just after 12:30 AM this morning and we are scheduled for a 2 PM start today. Remeber its a TV start, so we will be tardy. Now let's take a look at who made it to this final table and how they got here. Seat #1: Brian Lamkin. Brian is from Austin, Texas; he spent most of Day Three as our chipleader. In fact, Brian has been at or near the top of this event since midday of Day One. He was 3rd at the end of Day One with 69,950. By the end of Day Two, Brian had moved up to the second spot with over 218,000 and now entering our Final Day, he is our chipleader with 600,000, which is just a few chips short of 25% of all the chips in play (2,410,000). Brian has some previous places of note including a $17,000+ payout in the 2003 Five Diamond 10K tournament. Seat #2 Daniel Negreanu. OK, if you are absolutely new to following poker--Hi! How on earth did you find me here on PokerPages? If not, then I think you might know a bit about Mr. Negreanu, including his 2004 Player of the Year award and many, many other accomplishments. Let me remind you that up-to-date statistics can be found at PokerPages Stats on all players. Daniel's path to the final table had him in 25th place out of 77 players with 38,500 in his stack. By the end of Day Two, he had moved up to 5th with 140,000 and spent most of the day yesterday at or near the top four or five spots. For this final table Daniel will start with 410,000, which puts him solidly in 2nd place and immediately on the chipleader's left. Robert Schulz Seat #3. Robert spent a good portion of Day One as our chipleader, he finished Day One with 53,025 and in 10th place but in that tight grouping at the top of the leaderboard. Day Two also saw Robert make a run at the top before falling back to 49,000 and 18th spot. Day Three was also up and down for Robert. He seemed to be getting his chips in with the best of it but the turn and river were not always his friend. Robert starts today with 229,000 right in the middle of the pack. Robert is the local rooting interest, he lives in Southhaven, Mississippi. Lee Markholt Seat #4. Lee Markholt has a long list of 'in the money' finishes including a win in the PPT $500K freeroll in April, 2005 for a cool $250,000. Lee made a big move on Day Two coming from 49th to 3rd. Yesterday, he played a very strong and patient game and comes into the Final Day with $177,000. Lee lists Eatanville, Washington as home these days. Wendell Barnes Seat #5. Wendell has had a very interesting tournament. Although mid-pack (19th & 16th) at the end of both days. Wendell had he chiplead several times on Day One. Yesterday, he and Daniel Negreanu tangled and talked for most of the first three hours. At one point after Wendell took down a nice pot from Daniel, the superstart said: "You know, Wendell, you and I are going to do a lot of that today; how about we take it all the way to the final table?" And they have! Wendell won his seat in this event last week by taking the first place prize in the Hold'em Shootout Event here at the Grand. Wendell starts today with 237,000 just a bit less than average stack. Bryant King Seat #6. Bryant is the only final table player with his own cheering section. Often times last night we heard the chants of: "BK! BK!" Bryant is from Spokane, Washington but the cheering section sounds local. Second after Day One and ninth after Day Two, Bryant has been within striking distance of the top since early in the tournament. Bryant finished 21st in last year's WSOP main event and was at the final table right here at the Grand last August. He will take an even 200K into today's play. Brandon Adams Seat #7. Like many of the other final tablists, Brandon played from the top half of the field for most the the first three days. 24th after Day One and 8th after Day Two; Brandon starts play today with a stack of 103,000, he will be our short stack. Brandon had three money finishes last year, his first year of play. The absolute worse any of our players can do today will be to take home $45,790 but I am sure Brandon, like the other players, is aiming a lot higher than that. Kia Mohjeri Seat #8. Kia may be our Mr. Consistency in this event. He was 15th after Day One (50,650) and 15th after Day Two (77,600). He plays a solid if quiet game and begins today in 3rd position with 331,000. Kia is from Rock Ledge, Florida and had an 11th placefinish in the 2005 WSOP $3,000 Hold'em event. Chad Brown Seat #9. Chad is another well traveled player with notable finishes including a 2nd place in the 2005 WSOP $2,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo event. Playing out of the middle of the pack (30th & 13th) Chad has been ducking some long card-dead runs. He will be playing out of seat nine with the chipleades to his immediate left. He begins today with $123,000 and yes folks he is "that actor guy."
