Ernie Shepherd has moved in under the gun for 38K and its all fold to Daniel Negreanu; Daniel is acountin' the odds and calls. Ernie shows K7 off Daniel shows A5 . Flop is T42 and two diamonds. Turn is 2 of hearts, river is a KING but of DIAMONDS Ernie makes top pair but Daniel makes the flush and we have a final table of nine for tomorrow.

Ernie Shepherd of Lizella, GA is our 10th place finisher and wins $32,055

Daniel Negreanu doubles through Brandon Adams when a Queen flops and the two players hold QT and Q7, its that Ten kicker for Daniel that picks him up a very large pot of 300K+.

Friday, 27th of January 2006 12:15 AM

The flop is 9 K J ; Ernie Sheperd moves all-in with K J Wendell Barnes calls all-in with A  A . Yes, that is a lot of outs for Ernie but none of them turn or river and Wendell has about 245K.

It's late, we gotta get on home, It's late.

We have our first all-in, this from Chad Brown but no call. Coloring off the 500 chips and moving to 1K ante 5K/10K.

Friday, 27th of January 2006 12:01 AM

Well folks this is that time of night where the poker fans in both the gallery and the media turn pit turn their thoughts not to the next great move or monster flop but to the inevitable next and final bustout of the night. Let no one deny it, we all await those words: "There's an all-in and a call!"

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 11:49 PM

Players are now taking an early (4 minutes left in the current level) break and then we will all come back to the frosty event center and play until we lose ONE MORE PLAYER.

We have taken a vote and decided that this is a great venue for poker but at this point of the evening you could hang meat in the event center. Players are complaining of frost bite. Daniel Negreanu claims he played a tournament once on an ice rink and it was warmer than this.

Hertzel Zalewski

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 11:05 PM

Wendell Barnes is all-in with A9 the call comes from Hertzel Zelewski with AT. It takes only a nine on the flop and Wendell is alive and several steps off the felt. And another all-in survives.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 11:00 PM

Three consecutive hands on both tables have been folded to the pre-flop raise.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 10:51 PM

Its not that there is no gamble but it is true that every all-in for the past two hours has been folded to or resulted in a double up.This time its Lee Markholt doubling through Robert Schulz. KJ versus QJ and its a K on the flop and another on the river for Lee.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 10:44 PM

Another double up for Chad Brown (have we said that a lot today?) Wendell Barnes was the victim this time and that hand takes Wendell down to the felt. Both players flopped pair of Queens but Chad had a King kicker and that decided the hand. That felt Wendell is down to is less than 30K.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 10:36 PM

Brandon Adams doubles up to 89K with JJ against Don Barton's AJ suited.

Bryant King has picked up some chips and a cheering section.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 10:24 PM

Chips are moving around in groups of 30K but no one as made an move up or down greater than that. The reminder has gone out---It is NO limit hold'em.

Bill Edler called a 100K+ all-in from Don Barton and showed 99; Don showed KK and the board shows hints of a straight but ends with a diamond flush for Mr. Barton.

Michael pushed 52K into the middle with AQ, Daniel Negreanu ponders and calls with 99. The straight threatens on the board but does not materialize and

two big hands

Chad Brown calls Wendell Barnes' all-in. Chad has KK, Wendell 44 but a 356 flop gives Wendell lots of outs and a 4 on the turn is enough to give Wendell the win and a double up.

Then Bill Edler moves all-in with (62,500) KQ but gets the call from Don Barton with AQ. Its a double thru for Don Barton.

On the final hand, long after most players had gone off to dinner, Chad Brown sat and faced an all-in of 22,000 from Larry Satterwhite. The flop was JT3 and Chad made the call with Q9 and the open ended straight draw. Larry turns over pocket Aces .... but an 8 on the turn makes the straght.

Larry Satterwhite of Houston, TX is our 17th place finisher $22,895

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 06:21 PM

Dinner break until 8 PM. Chip counts in a moment or two.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 06:08 PM

Daniel Negreanu takes a 120K+ pot from Wendell Barnes with trip tens.

FYI our 18th place finisher Phil Galfond is 21 years and 10 days old, this is obviously his first major live tournament.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 06:05 PM

It appears that our schedule today has been altered. We have 15 minutes left in this round and then after some housekeeping chores there will be an early dinner break before we continue to whittle the field down to our final nine.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 05:50 PM

Several all-in moves from Chad Brown, Larry Satterwhite and Wendell Barnes get thoughtful folds from their table mates. 17 players remaing, 24 minutes to our next level/break/chip count.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 05:41 PM

Phil Galfond has gone out in 18th when his A4 is called by Wendell Barnes with AJ and the flop is JJK.

Phil Galfond from Gaithersburg, MD is our 18th place finishers and takes home $22,895

This time its Bill Edler with the AQ all-in, he gets an AJ call from Danel Alaei and with a blank board, Bill Edler has doubled up. Bill's 9K all-in was a blind bet pre-flop.

Thursday, 26th of January 2006 05:22 PM

Now that we are in the money the chips are flying around, the bets are wild...oh wait, that's the craps table just outside. Here in the poker arena, we have a bit of tight going on. Several small stacks have moved about but not major hits or gains to report. The pre-flop raises are getting a lot of respect.
