Boom! Huge pot to Don Barton, who will be the chipleader to Day Three with over 244,000. Chip counts and survivors in a few moments.

The crowd is milling about waiting for the Bubble on Day Two.

Wednesday, 25th of January 2006 06:40 PM

Don Mullis makes a huge (64K) call with AJ after saying to Brian Lamkin "I know you have Queens." Brian shows Kings, which are just as good. Jacks do not beat Kings and Brian has nearly 200K and is our new chipleader. Don Mullis is down to 16K.

Josh Prager, our chipleader from yesterday, was just eliminated in 29th place.

Wednesday, 25th of January 2006 06:26 PM

even though 27th pays the same as 241st and the same as 19th----ZERO!! We are still seeing a lot of very conservative Day Two bubble play. Four tables left 7, 7, 7 & 8 and lots of folding.

Wednesday, 25th of January 2006 06:13 PM

Umberto Brenes has gone out 30th.

For tomorrow ESPN is set up downstairs in the event center for three tables. That means more filming and slightly less access for us in the internet media tomorrow and it means we are waiting for only 6 more poker deaths today as we have just lost Padraig Parkinson and Timmy Townsend.

Thanks to Jason Kirk for this story. Jessica Brown was in her first tournament, imagine your first event being a 10K??? She entered a $65 satellite and won it, entered a second and won it. Took those two $500 chips and played a $1,000 satellite and won her seat in this event. A great showing for a first event and unbelieveable showing a field of this caliber.

Jean Bellande and Layne Flack are at adjoining tables and with Matusow gone the room has quieted down. So Jean and Layne have been yakking. Jean noted that they had about the same stacks and offered Layne "the better player" a last longer bet but he needed 3-2 odds. Layne said "even is even" or maybe that he should get 3-2. Jean asked the crowd if anyone would take Layne 3-2 against him, when one spectator say yes. Jean could not believe it and asked Daniel Negreanu if he thought 3-2 was a fair break. Daniel said, of course not, but he would take Layne 4-1. Jean could only shake his head.
