$10,000 NLHE
by Sharla Lehrmann Tuesday, 15th of November 2005 12:50 AM Done for the night. Updates tomorrow. Start time at noon. Sleep well. The night is getting long in the tooth now. Double ups are rampant and bust outs are everywhere. We lost Andy Miller, Matt Lefkowitz, Grant Lang, Brian Darmanin and Chris McCormack. Tuesday, 15th of November 2005 12:00 AM Pocket jacks held up against pocket fives. Pat Poels is eliminated when he made a run with the fives.
We are down to 140 players. 52 minutes left in this round, and we can then hit the hay. Somehow I missed Men "The Master" Nguyen busted.
Monday, 14th of November 2005 11:31 PM I cant find my friend Michael Borovetz. I think he is out. Also, we lost Poch Kim too. She is a hoot and a half.
Monday, 14th of November 2005 11:10 PM Players are back at it OK. I have an update on Anthony Licastro. He is now at 42,900. Steady as she goes. He is so excited. Monday, 14th of November 2005 10:57 PM Players on break. We go to the next level. 100 ante and 300 / 600 blinds John Fanning is going home. He had a good run this last week making several final tables. Dewey Tomko is no longer in the field. Monday, 14th of November 2005 10:31 PM Tony Cousineau is done too. Hasan Habib did the deed. Tony had pocket aces and Hasan K3. Go figure. OK. Bad beat time. Steven Jacobs caught pocket fives. Mark Gregorich was ecstatic as he caught pocket aces. Well, after the flop, it all got in the middle. The flop brought....a pair of fives and some other non-descript card. Bottom line, Steven Jacobs flops quads to take out Mark's aces and Mark. Monday, 14th of November 2005 10:20 PM David "The Dragon" Pham pushed all in with that elusive A Q only to butt up against a K K. When the flop came with an ace on board, Jeff Lazzaris was behind. The turn came a K to put him back in the lead. The Q on the river was only a really mean tease to David.
Monday, 14th of November 2005 10:06 PM Now we lose Gavin Smith. He raised to 1300 and Men "The Master" Nguyen reraised to 3K. Gavin then pushed all in at this point and Men went right ahead and called. Men turned over a pair of pocket cowboys. No wonder. Gavin showed that brutally gorgeous but poisoness A Q. The board came the 5 9 5 7 K. Men had it at hello...but added sugar to it by making a full house.
Monday, 14th of November 2005 09:46 PM Andrew Barta was down to 5K and puts it all in. Jim Meehan...yes, you heard me right, Jim Meehan called. Jim turned over a monster, the K
Andy Miller had raised preflop and Paul Darden called. The clop came the 2 2 5. Andy bet his entire stack at the pot and Paul called all in for his last 4K. He turned over pocket sixes. Andy had an 8 in his hand and sure enough the river brought it for him. Paul Darden is finished this trip around.
Ooops. He didnt make it. Down and out. See ya next time around Allen. Allen Kessler is almost down to the felt. He has 2K left....Ill cross my fingers for you Allen! Monday, 14th of November 2005 09:20 PM Hasan Habib is chip leader with about 75K. Amir Vahedi has about 55K. Monday, 14th of November 2005 09:20 PM For all you Anthony Licastro fans....he is sitting pretty at 24,500. Not bad. Monday, 14th of November 2005 09:15 PM Andy Bloch loses with his AQ versus KK. He caught a Q on the flop, the opponent pushed all in and had the overpair. No help came for Andy.
Monday, 14th of November 2005 09:10 PM Mike Sica got it all in the middle on the flop of the 9
Monday, 14th of November 2005 09:07 PM Amir Vahedi sat in the big blind. UTG limped in for a call. Folded around to Greg Raymer, he limped in as well. Amir Vahedi exercised his option and raised. UTG folded and Greg pushed all in for another 13K. Amir instantaneously called. Greg said "OK what do I have to crack?" and turned over the 3
Monday, 14th of November 2005 08:49 PM Vinny Vinh doubles up and three hands later goes out. Neverloses....is on the rail with Neverwin! Monday, 14th of November 2005 08:46 PM Chip Jett doubled throught Men "The Master" when his big slick hit pay dirt on the board to crush Men's Q Q. Monday, 14th of November 2005 08:42 PM Jim Meehan has been sitting on 900 chips. He has been short stacked for quite a while and just dribbling them away with antes and blinds. He limped in UTG and the button raised to 1100. Jim pushed all in. The button showed the T
Monday, 14th of November 2005 08:14 PM Jason Lester loses to broadway. He goes home.
Monday, 14th of November 2005 08:03 PM Glyn Banks is up to 45K and looking goot! Players take a 10 minute break. We move to 50 antes with 150 / 300 blinds. Monday, 14th of November 2005 07:37 PM Neal Gersony was dealt big slick and pushed it all in and was called immediately if not sooner by Chris Stephenson. Chris had pocket kings. Neal either had to make a straight or hit one of his aces. It was a no go. Neal Gersony goes home. Monday, 14th of November 2005 07:35 PM Richard "Quiet Lion" Brodie has been eliminated. Just saw Philippe Rouas walk out the door. Missed the hand, but, I believe he is out. Yes. He is. All in on the big blind for 400, he lost with his A 6. Monday, 14th of November 2005 07:28 PM For all you Glyn Banks fans, he just doubled up. After the flop of the 9
Nothing really exciting going on right now. Buzzed around the tables and listened to some pretty funny bantering. Mike Sica has his table in stitches. Greg Raymer bets into a pot in the cutoff, with no action. A K on the board. He gets it and turns over a pair of eights and said he has yet to lose with that hand. Now, he mentioned it had to be those two eights, but, hey, it is poker. Story was good. My opinion is this. The lighting is pretty low in this room. Hence the poor quality of my pictures. Everyone just had dinner...so, I think they are all in some "napping" mode. No blood gettin' to the noggins. Monday, 14th of November 2005 06:34 PM Steve Jacobs comes in as chip leader followed by Men "The Master" Nguyen. Ted Forrest follows Men. We resume play. Now we have a 25 ante with 100 /200 blinds Here is the payout schedule for the event. With 783 entries, they will be going after this gold! Flight B is down to about 270 players now.
During the break, the WPT film crew is doing interviews. Now, we have all seen the interviews on the Travel channel and ESPN, but you probably dont know what it looks like live. So, here is a shot of Paul Darden being interviewed.
The players will take an hour for dinner break and return at 6:30pm. Found Glyn Banks, HE LIVES!!!!! Monday, 14th of November 2005 05:27 PM
Clonie Gowen and one other player see the flop of the T 9 7. Clonie pushes along with her opponent. Clonie shows 9 9 for a set and her opponent Q Q for one pair. The turn comes the 7 and now Clonie has a full house, nines full. Her opponent has a two outer….and sure as shootin’ the river brings one of them. The Q. The Q gives her opponent a bigger full house and Clonie goes home after a horrible horrible hand (at least for Clonie!) Clonie Gowen is out. Monday, 14th of November 2005 05:25 PM Tex Barch is crippled and then takes the fall. When he raised preflop, he was called. After the flop, he bet 1200 and the other player raised to 4200. Tex moved all in and the other player called. He showed the 9 2 for two pair and Tex the A Q for a pair of queens. The turn is nothing and the river another 9 to boat the competitor. It took Tex down to only 4K and he lost it just a hand or two later. Tilt? Monday, 14th of November 2005 05:14 PM Vinny Napolitano made it his whole wad to go and was called by Jon Bradley and Greg Raymer. The flop came the A Q 8. Now Jon Bradley pushed the rest of his chips in and Greg Raymer called. Showdown. Vinny had the J J, Jon an A K and Greg the A 7. The turn and river came the K 8 and Vinny took his leave. Jon took the pot. Lost Don Mullis.
Monday, 14th of November 2005 04:36 PM Tim Phan lost his bid to go any farther. Richard Tatalovich got it all in the middle and received a call by Andy Miller. Richard had the JJ and Andy the 99. A turn for the worse came for Richard when it arrived….the 9 giving Andy a set. Richard is gone Monday, 14th of November 2005 04:28 PM Mike Sica is holding at 12K. He was almost to the felt and is having to really grind his way back. No matter what, he stays in a good mood. What a great guy!
Monday, 14th of November 2005 04:23 PM Level 3 100 / 200 blinds What the heck is this all about????
Monday, 14th of November 2005 03:44 PM Back at it . Blinds are now 100 / 200 Players take a break. Anthony Licastro is here and says hi to Bill and Jeff back at work. He is doing great and sitting at about 15,900. Steady as she goes. He also wants to say hi to all the guys he works with. He came down on Saturday to play some satellites and the smaller ones were not running anymore. So, he decided to try an ACT II and won it. The only thing he could do with that win is play in the ACT III for a Main Event $10K entry....well, by golly here he is today, playing in the $10K for $225. Good luck to ya Anthony!
Monday, 14th of November 2005 03:19 PM Syracuse Chris Tsiparilidis is done for the day. He caught a King on the flop, unfortuanately, so did his opponent. Chris had the K J and opponent A K. Nam Le was down to the felt and limped in with the A Monday, 14th of November 2005 02:37 PM I will bold them as they go out.
Somehow I lost all of my blog....so, I am going to try to recreate it. Earlier, a player played all the way down to the felt with the nut flush, or at least that is what he thought until he turned it over. His opponent DID have the nut flush and the player with the imagined flush went home. We know it is best not to go back and look at our hand, but there is a limit to that philosophy. Monday, 14th of November 2005 04:27 PM I visited with Don Mullis at the break. He was very frustrated. He said the deck had been hitting him all day and he had his pocket aces and kings cracked. He had taken a walk to shake it off only to get back just in time for them to say he was too late to play. He saw his hand, and with tons of action, he would have made a set on the flop and taken a huge pot.
Lee Markholt is out
Monday, 14th of November 2005 12:25 PM How would you like to come all this way only to go out on the 4th hand? Well, John Juanda ran his set of jacks up against a set of aces and is on his way home aleady. The remaining 118 from yesterday
