(O'Keeya Singleton reporting)

Peter Hedlund is out, leaving the tournament ten handed with two tables.  Down to only two orange (1000) chips he put all his chips in and then got protection from John Juanda who put in a 15K bet that drove everyone else out of the hand.   Hedlund drew one card, as did Juanda.  Juanda then drew one card two more times.  Finally, Hedlund showed 87543.  Juanda made  76432 to eliminate Hendlund, who eleges to have played for the Swedish national basketball team.  Go figure!

We lost one more player on the very last hand of the night.  Masayoshi Tanaka raised from the cutoff.  Brad Libson reraised and Jacob Fernandez capped things with a re-reraise. Tanaka drew one card.  Libson and Fernandez drew two cards.  Fernandez bet the last of his chips with Libson and Fernandez calling.  Tanaka drew one card again and Libson and Fernandez drew two again.  Libson and Fernandez checked and both drew one card this time.  They checked it for the last time.  Libson mucked and Fernandez made a Jack high. Tanaka made a 9 high to eliminate Fernandez in 10th place.  Play is over for tonight.  Players successfully lobbied to start at 2PM tomorrow instead of 1PM.

There are only two tables remaining with about 30 minutes left to play on Day 2. Joseph Morrow finished in 14th place. Then Dan Quach raised, Julie Schneider reraised. Quach called, and Schneider drew one while he took two. Julie bet, and Dan called, and Schneider again drew one to Quach’s two and bet again. They each took one more card and checked to showdown. Schneider’s T 8 7 3 2 was enough to send Quach’s cards into the muck. He only had 2,000 after the hand, which he shipped to Abe Mosseri’s 9-8. Quach headed out in 13th place, and the rest of the players paused to draw to new tables.

Chip leader Abe Mosseri is now sitting with John Juanda and Blair Rodman, while Nam Le and Jacobo Fernandez occupy the other table.

The field only lost two more players, but the rail is much emptier now that Daniel Negreanu has made his exit. Negreanu, Abe Mosseri, and Dan Quach all made it to the first draw. Mosseri took two, and Negreanu and Quach took one. Quach tossed out a bet, and Mosseri made the call. Negreanu called as well, committing his last chips to the pot. Quach bet after the second draw, pushing Mosseri out of the pot. On the third draw, Quach showed 8 7 5 3 2. Negreanu drew to an 8 4 3 2, but the 2 he picked up was no help. He finished in 16th place for $7,223.

Ali Sarkeshik busted in 15th after shipping most of his chips to John Juanda when he missed his draw.

(Elissa Harwood reporting)
The action has definitely slowed a bit, and we’ve only lost one player in the last hour. Ryan Fisler and Abe Mosseri were involved in a big pot. After the second draw, Fisler bet, and Mosseri raised him. Fisler called, and both of them stood pat. Not needing to wait for cards, Abe bet, and Fisler made the call with just 12,000 behind. Ryan mucked to Mosseri’s 7 6 5 3 2, and lost the rest of his chips a few hands later when he got stuck with a 6-high straight.

Daniel Negreanu is still pretty short on chips, but he’s doing better after doubling through Mosseri. Negreanu was drawing for his life when he pulled a 6 to complete his 8 6 5 4 3 to beat Mosseri’s 9-7.

(Elissa Harwood reporting)
The busts keep coming quickly despite the fact that the players are getting closer and closer to the final table. Action should start to slow down soon, but it looks like we’ll get to the final six before the 3:00 am curfew. Dustin Sitar finished in 21st place, followed by Jerrod Ankenman in 20th. Next, Abe Mosseri built a big pot with Adam Ewenstein and made a 9-7 to scoop the pot. Ewenstein was left with only 12,000. He called all in after a raise from Daniel Quach and a call from Ryan Fisler. Ewenstein drew three, and the other two took two. Check check, and   Ewenstein and Fisler drew two. Quach only drew one, and after giving it a quick check, fired a bet. Fisler called and took one last card. Quach stood pat, leaving Ewenstein with a decision. He thought for a moment before trading in two cards. Quach tabled 9 8 5 4 3, and Fisler mucked, sending the side pot to Quach. Ewenstein looked unhappy, explaining that he’d broken up the same hand to draw. He turned over a 3 first, but the second card was an Ace, ending Ewenstein’s tournament.

After Adam’s bust, the players paused to redraw to the final three tables. Hasan Habib and Nam Le, who had been sitting next to each other for most of the day, were still together and picked up new tablemate John Juanda. J.C. Tran and Chino Rheem had been chilling at a table a few feet away from Nam. They haven’t appeared to notice that he’s been moved to the other side of the room.

Alas, Nam and Hasan were broken up a few minutes after sitting down at their new table. Habib ran into Joseph Morrow’s number two to lose most of his stack. Then he mixed it up with John Juanda and came out a loser. Habib was all in after the second draw, and he took one card. Juanda stood pat with a 9-8, and Habib shook his head as he mucked his hand. The dealer reached for it and turned it over, showing that he’d paired a 5. Habib told the table good game and quickly ducked under the rail. He was headed out the door as Nam Le yelled after him to come back, reminding Habib that he had to go to the payout desk first or he wouldn’t get his $7,223.

(Elissa Harwood reporting)
The players hit the money with remarkable speed. Tuan Le ran the rest of his chips into Hertzel Zalewski’s smooth 8. Then Fuller folded in a big pot after catching a terrible draw, leaving himself only 600 chips. He got them in on the next hand and donated them to Blair Rodman’s 8-7. Gabriel Nassif was out soon after, drawing a pair of 6s to lose to a pair of 3s and a pair of 4s. Joseph Morrow also paired his hand to lose his last 400 chips, busting so quickly after Nassif that the floor didn’t even have time to declare hand-for-hand. Instead, they told all of the players to sit back down and announced that everyone was in the money!

Michael O’Grady was the first to pick up his cash. He took one card in the second round and then bet all in. His opponent, who had also drawn one, called. O’Grady stood pat with 9 8 7 5 3. His opponent held 6 3 3 2 2 and had to take two. He slowly flipped over a 7 – good so far – and then a 4, earning a groan from O’Grady as he tossed his cards into the muck. O’Grady gets $5,148 for squeaking into the money.

Justin “BoostedJ” Smith finished in 22nd place, defeated by Blair Rodman’s 8-6. Smith twittered that his bust was "very disappointing...pretty upset really." The final 21 are on their way to a 20-minute break now.

(Elissa Harwood reporting)

An hour after dinner, there are 28 players looking for their piece of the prize pool, but only 24 of them can finish in the money. John Phan, Nam Le, Rick Fuller, and Justin “BoostedJ” Smith are all getting dangerously short. Phan was close to out when he doubled up, making 9 7 6 5 3 to beat Abe Mosseri and stack 23,000 in chips. Daniel Negreanu put his life at risk against Gabriel Nassif. Negreanu raised, and Nassif called from the button. Both drew two cards. Nassif bet, and Negreanu called all in with his last 900 chips. They each took another card, and tabled their hands. Negreanu took his last card and showed 8 5 4 4 2, not what he was looking for. But Daniel was safe since Nassif held 7 6 5 4 and drew a 3, making a straight. Negreanu doubled to 16,000, and Nassif is the tournament short stack now with 7K.

Tuan Le has been up and down all level. He ran into Adam Ewenstein’s 7 6 5 3 2 to drop to 7,000. Then Le made an 8 7 5 3 2 to chip up to 14,000. But he was back on the ropes after shipping a pot to Miguel Rodriguez, who is the reigning chip leader with around 195,000. Le got his last 10,000 in against Ewenstein and drew a T 9 6 4 2. Ewenstein took two cards, and turned over first one 8 and then another. With the pair, Ewenstein doubled Le to 20,000.

(Jonas Alt reporting)

Rick Fuller raised from middle position, Allen Kessler re-raised from the SB, and Fuller called. Kessler took 1 card on the first draw and Fuller took 2. Kessler led out, and Fuller called. Same as before, Kessler took 1 and Fuller drew 2. Kessler bet, Fuller called. On the final draw, Kessler stood pat as Fuller took 1 card. Both checked and Kessler turned over T 8 4 3 2 which was good enough for the win.

Justin Smith raised from middle position, Abe Mosseri made it 3-bets, Martin Corpuz called, and then Smith made it 4-bets. Both of the other players called. On the first draw, Smith took 1, Corpuz took 1, and Mosseri took 3. Smith led out and was called by both of his opponents. Smith took another card on the 2nd draw while Mosseri also took 1 and Corpuz took 2 this time. Smith bet out again, and both other players called again. Mosseri and Copuz each took a card on the final draw while Smith stood pat. The action was checked around and Corpuz turned over 8 5 4 3 2 which was good enough to beat both of the others.

The players have left for a one hour dinner break which should bring them back to the tables around 7:35pm PDT. Stay tuned to Poker Pages for all of the live action when the cards hit the felt.

Daniel Negreanu raised from middle position, and was called by Masayoshi Tanaka in the BB. Tanaka took 2 cards on the first draw while Negreanu took 3. Tanak bet and Negreanu called. Negreanu took 2 cards while Tanaka stood pat on the 2nd draw, and Tanaka led out again. This time however, Negreanu raised and Tanaka called. Negreanu stood pat on the final draw as Tanaka took 1. Both players checked and Tanaka tabled 8 7 5 3 2. Negreanu mucked as Tanaka scooped the pot.

Ryan Fisler raised from UTG, and Nam Le 3-bet it behind him. Fisler called and both took 1 card on the first draw. It went check check and each player took 1 more card on the 2nd draw. Fisler bet this time and Le made the call. Neither player took a card on the final draw, and Fisler check-called a bet from Le. Le showed 8 7 6 5 2 which was good enough for the win.

Tuan Le opened for a raise from the CO position, John Phan called, and Ryan Fisler made it 3-bets from the BB. Both Le and Phan called. Fisler stood pat the whole way as Le and Phan each took 2 cards on the first draw. Fisler bet after the first draw and got calls from both of his opponents. On the 2nd draw, as Fisler was standing pat, Le and Phan each took 1 card. Again Fisler opened, again Le called, but this time Phan raised. Fisler folded and Le came along. Phan stood pat as Le took 1 card on the final draw. Both checked and Phan showed 8 6 4 3 2. Le mucked.

Abe Mosseri raised from UTG, and Gioi Luong 3-bet it from the BB. Mosseri called. Mosseri drew 1 card while Luong didn't. Luong bet, Mosseri called. On the 2nd draw, Mosseri took another card as Luong stood pat. Luong tossed out a bet, Mosseri raised, and Luong pushed his remaining chips in. Neither player took a card on the final draw, and when it was all said and done Mosseri would eliminate Luong with 8 6 5 4 3.

John Phan raised from middle position, Ryan Fisler called, as did Tuan Le. Phan and Fisler took 2 cards on the first draw and Le took 4. All three checked. On the next draw, Le took 3 and Phan and Fisler each took 2. Phan led out, Fisler laid his hand down, and Le called. Both of the remaining players took 1 card on the final draw, and this time Le led out with Phan making the call. Phan tabled 8 7 5 4 3 and Le mucked, giving Phan the win.

Hung La opened the action from middle position, Tom McCormick re-raised from the SB, Gabriel Nassif called, and La came along as well. McCormick took 1, Nassif took 2, and La took 3. McCormick bet and both opponents called. 1 more for McCormick on the 2nd draw, as La and Nassif both take 2. This time Nassif led out and was called by both other players. On the final draw, Nassif stood pat while La and McCormick each took 1. Nassif bet, La called for the rest of his chips, and McCormick folded. Nassif turned over 7 5 4 3 2 to show La he was not only beat, but eliminated.

The players are just returning from their first break of the day.

Daniel Negreanu limped from the SB and Allen Kessler checked his option. Each player took 3 cards on the first draw and both players checked. Negreanu took 3 on the next draw while Kessler took 2. Negreanu led out with Kessler making the call. Neither player took a card on the final draw, and once again, Kessler called a bet from Negreanu. Kessler took the pot with 8 7 5 4 2.

Billy Baxter opened with a raise from the CO position, and Abraham Mosseri and Dustin Sitar came along. On the first draw, each player took 2. Mosseri checked, Sitar bet, Baxter raised, Mosseri cold called 2-bets, Sitar bumped it up again, Baxter called as did Mosseri. Mosseri took 2 cards again on the 2nd draw. Sitar stood pat, and Baxter drew 1. Sitar bet, Mosseri folded, and Baxter called. Baxter took one more card on the final draw as Sitar stood pat again. Both players checked and Sitar turned over 8 7 5 3 2, and took the pot as Baxter mucked.
Jacob Fernandez raised from the CO, Justin Smith called from the SB, and Victor Ramdin called from the BB. Fernandez and Smith took 2 cards on the first draw while Ramdin took 3. Ramdin led out, Smith got out of the way as Fernadez raised, and Ramdin called. Fernandez stood pat on the next 2 draws while Ramdin took 1 on each. Ramdin couldn't get the 2 he needed to beat Fernandez's 7 6 5 4 2, and he was gone.

Greg Mueller was sent to the rail after a hand with Hung La. La stood pat on the final draw as Mueller took 1 card. Unfortunately for Mueller, his final draw paired his 5 and gave La the win and the knock-out.

Justin Smith raised pre-flop, Imani Dariush re-raised from the SB, Tuan Le called, and Smith folded. Both of the remaining players took 2 on the first draw and Dariush check-called a bet from Le. Le stood pat on the 2nd draw while Dariush took 2. Le was again check-called by Dariush. Le was still standing pat on the 3rd draw, and Dariush took only 1 this time. It went check check and Le turned over 9 8 5 4 2 to take it down.

Nam Le made it 3-bets after Ryan Fisler had raised from UTG. Fisler called and took 2 on the first draw while Le only drew 1.Fisler then check-called a bet from Le and took 2 more on the 2nd draw. Le took 1 and moved all-in. Fisler made the call and took 2 on the final draw as Le stood pat. Le tabled Q 8 6 3 2 to show the winning hand.

Day 2 of the $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw began today with the field still full of pros. With the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Jimmy Fricke, John Juanda, Allen Kessler, and Amnon Filippi this should be a great day of poker.

Justin Smith raised from middle position and Pat Poels called from the SB. Smith stood pat while Poels drew 2 on the first round. Poels check-called a bet from Smith, and then drew 1 while Smith stayed pat. Smith didn't take a card on the final draw as Poels took 1. Both players checked the last draw and Smith tabled 8 7 4 3 2 to take the pot.

Amnon Filippi raised from the CO position, Brian Saltus 3-bet on the button, and Filippi called. Both players took 2 on the first draw, and both players checked it. Filippi took 1 card on the next draw and bet. Saltus, called the bet after drawing 2. Both players took a card on the final draw, and once again Saltus called a bet from Filippi. Saltus showed A 8 7 3 2 and took the pot.

Greg Mueller bet after the 2nd draw, and was called by Jimmy Fricke. Next time around, Fricke drew 2 while Mueller drew 1. Mueller bet and Fricke re-raised all-in. Mueller made the call but mucked when Fricke tabled 8 7 6 3 2.

73 players return today on their quest for a bracelet. They are all pursuing the $165,521 first place prize and the fame that comes with the bracelet. Still in the field are Allen Kessler, Daniel Negreanu, and Jimmy Fricke. Who will win the coveted title and bracelet? Keep it here, as Poker Pages will be reporting all of the LIVE action beginning at 2 p.m. Las Vegas local time.
