We are sure to see action from this table. In Omaha 8 or Better, Phil Ivey raised preflop from middle position. David Benyamine called from the button as did Nick Schulman. The flop came A Jeff Lisandro eliminated: It was three way action in Stud 8 or Better. Jeff Lisandro bet all in on his board of: 3 John Hansen called with a board of 5 Frank Kessela called as well with a board of: A The players are dealt 7th street: John Hansen and Frank Kessela check. Kessela turns over A5T for two pair. Hansen mucks his cards and Lisandro turns over TT2 for a pair of Tens. Lisandro could not beat the two pair of Kessela and exits the tournament. Chad Brown was eliminated from the tournament. Andy Bloch eliminated: It was Omaha 8 or Better. On a board of A Daniel Negreanu was seen missing a huge draw in Stud high. He had a straight and a flush draw and bricked. He is now the short stack at his table. Saturday, 27th of June 2009 10:00 PM (Amanda Rosenfeld reporting)Level: Hold'em/Omaha 8: Blinds 2,000-4,000, Betting Limits 4,000-8,000
Hasan Habib was also seen scooping a pot in Omaha 8 or Better. He held AQ34 on a board of A288T and had the nut low and two pair to win the entire pot. David Oppenheim doubled up this hour: He was all in on 4th street in Razz against Barry Greenstein. Greenstein made a final board of Q7256Q7 for a Q7 low and Oppenheim who started with A235 ended up with a final board of A235KT7 for a 7 low. He doubles up, but is still short stacked. Steve Sung was seen scooping Chris "Jesus" Ferguson in Omaha 8 or Better. Sung made three of a kind and the third nut low to take the pot from Ferguson who held AAxx. Zac Fellows eliminated: The action was in Stud 8 or better. Fellows was all in, and there was side action between Phil Ivey, David Benyamine and John Monnette. Phil Ivey bet into the side pot on 7th street and was called by both players. Ivey tabled 8623(435) for the six high straight with the low of a 65. Both Monnette and Benyamine muck. Fellows also turned his cards up briefly before mucking them. He exits the tournament area. The clock reads 70 players left. The players are on a 20 minute break. Saturday, 27th of June 2009 09:00 PM (Amanda Rosenfeld reporting)
Hold'em/Omaha 8: Blinds 2,000-4,000, Betting Limits 4,000-8,000 There has not been too much action as they have been back for 15 minutes. However, Jerry Buss was seen taking a pot off of Gus Hansen during the Stud round. Hansen then won a decent size pot off of an opponent when his AAJTXXX board held up against one opponent. Cory Zeidman was eliminated in Stud 8 or Better when Annie Duke held QQQ228K for a full house and Patrik Antonius held 457863K for the low. Zeidman exited quickly from the Amazon room. Daniel Negreanu has rubber bands surrounding his starting stack. He has around 40,000 to play with before he has to dip into his reserves. Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey and David Benyamine were seen laughing around with each other. The mood in the air seems light, however, you can see the determination on each of the player's faces. Stay tuned as action continues..... Saturday, 27th of June 2009 08:00 PM (Aaron Angerman reporting)Players are now on dinner break. The cards will go back in the air at 8:30. Seventy-seven players still battling for the bracelet. Leading up to the break, we lost three bracelet winners. John Juanda was the first to go. Left with just 30K after an earlier clash, Juanda had the rest of his chips in the middle vs. David Bach. Playing Omaha 8, Juanda was all in preflop. Scotty Nguyen played to the river with Bach on the A T 7 2 Q board. Come showtime, Scotty tabled 5 4 4 2 to take the low. Bach took the high part of the chop after showing A A Q 8. Juanda couldn't beat either player, but he did beat them to the rail. Max Pescatori was next. The Italian Pirate was on the ropes earlier, but runner-runner spades in a hand of Omaha 8 allowed Pescatori to take the high and reach 35K. Still short, Pescatori had the rest of his stack in a few hands later. Playing the same game, Hassan Habib and Ralph Perry played the hand down after Pescatori called it off preflop. Q J T A 8 to the river and Perry was able to turn up 6 3 3 5 for the flush and the scoop. Finally, Eli Elezra also busted. Elezra was extremely short and shipped into Daniel Negreanu. By the river, T 7 4 6 J was on the board and from Daniels four down cards he was able to show 53 for the 6-high straight and the knockout. Play will resume at 8:30. Saturday, 27th of June 2009 07:00 PM (Aaron Angerman reporting)There are 20 minutes left in level 8. Once the clock hits 0:00, they're going to dinner for an hour. Down to 79 players, thanks to the likes of Pat Pezzin, Greg Raymer, James Van Alstyne and Justin Bonomo went broke. Pezzin ran into not only Tony G's Aces in Hold'em, but another player's Kings and nines as well to go broke. Fossilman chased his 3 Q K J board all the way, but couldn't even make a pair.Bonomo was left with just 10,500 after being forced out of a Stud 8 hand. After squeezing and watching his opponent throw out one last 6K bet, Bonomo turned over his 5 J 4 2 board and mucked it to fight another day. That day would come just a few hands later, still in Stud 8. Battling Joe Cassidy, Bonomo was dealt 4 A A 4 up. But with 5 8 7 3 in front of him, Cassidy turned up (3 7 2 ) for the heart flush and the scoop. Bonomo is no more.David Bach is moving up the leaderboard, now with more than 400K. A good portion of those chips came in a Stud 8 hand with $40K Special Event winner Vitaly Lunkin. In the showdown, the Aces bach had on the board were good enough for the high, while his 7-low just inched out the 8-low of Lunkin to scoop. Saturday, 27th of June 2009 06:00 PM (Aaron Angerman reporting)Players have just returned from their first break for level 8: Hold'em/Omaha 8 -- blinds 1,500-3,000 and betting limits of 3,000-6,000 Stud games -- antes 700, bring-ins 1,000 and betting limits of 3,000-6,000 Before the break, Jennifer Harman went broke. Down to just 20K after her confrontation with Soulier, Harman would be left with only 2,200 after being forced to muck her hand after the turn during some Hold'em with Max Pescatori. Harman would ship her last few chips from the BB with just Q4. Steve Sung isolated with a raise from the button holding the very dominating KQ. Sung would make trip Kings on the river and Harman was done. Hassan Habib is the current chip leader. The end of Day 1 big stack is up to 450K already. He reached the high water mark after taking a big Omaha 8 pot away from Steve Sung. The two had already chased Soulier out of the pot on the turn. After the river, Habib called a Sung bet with A T T J 2 on the board. Among his four hole cards, Sung found K Q for the flush. But Habib tabled A 4 Q J for the nut flush and the scoop.Saturday, 27th of June 2009 05:00 PM (Aaron Angerman reporting)The cards are finally in the air for Day 2 of the $50K HORSE. We began the day with 94 of the original 95 starters (Steve Zolotow being the lone player to be felted during Day 1). Already, we've lost three more, as Ali Eslami, Bryan Colin and Greg Mascio burned off the rest of their 150K starting stacks. Bryan Colin was done in by Joe Cassidy during some Stud. With K T 6 8 on the board, Cassidy had called Colin's bets all the way to 7th. At that time, with rags on the board and pocket Kings hiding in the hole, Colin committed the rest of his chips and Cassidy called. Joe turned over (J 5 ) in the hole, giving him a club squeeze on the river. Right on cue, Cassidy tabled the 2 and bounced Colin.Huck Seed dispatched of Greg Mascio in a hand of Stud. Mascio really had no pair or draw and took it to the river with the rest of his short stack. Huck Seed looked him up and in the end, Seed's sevens and fours were more than enough to rail Mascio, who could only muster Ace-high. John Juanda and Jennifer Harman are each slipping in the chip counts thanks to Stud 8. Juanda was left with just 30K after a big three-way pot. In the hand, Juanda and David Chiu bet out Johnny Chan, with Chiu's Aces up topping Juanda's eights and sevens in the showdown for the scoop. Harman was left even shorter, with just 20K, after chasing her A 2 7 3 board all the way to the river. Fabrice Soulier called Harman down, but both checked the river. Soulier showed only a split pair of nines, with no low. Harman flashed just a pair of deuces, having missed everything. A surprised Soulier took the whole pot down. They're falling, but Nick Schulman has the scooping thing down. First, the new bracelet owner was scooping Doyle in some Stud 8. With 3 5 6 K on the Nick's board, Doyle called a re-raise to see the kid turn over (A 7 4) for both a 7-high straight and a 65 low, good for the scoop. Shortly after, Schulman was playing Hi/Lo with Zac Fellows, winner of Event #21. In the showdown, a dejected Fellows could only muck as Schulman turned over (A 3 X) to go with the 2 4 5 X he had on board for the wheel and another scoop. Still lots of time in level 7: Hold'em/Omaha 8 -- 1,300-2,500 blinds and 2,500-5,000 limits Stud games -- 500 antes, 700 bring-ins and limits of 2,500-5,000 We begin Day 2 of the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E.
