Soheil's 97 suited was trailing Pat's AJ, but the board came 9 4 2 7 T and Soheil doubled up, yet again, with two pair. Then he got his chips in again on the turn with the board showing Q Q 2 J. Soheil held A3 off for Ace-high. Matt Glantz held pocket 9s and was ahead. Any card but an Ace on the river would leave them 7-handed. The river delivered a 9 giving Matt the pot. Soheil Shamseddin finished in 8th place, earning $59,996. Play continued into Level 24: Blinds 20k/40k Daniel Alaei and Chad Brown went to the river with a board of K 9 4 8 J. Chad fired on every street until the end when he checked it down. Daniel showed pocket 7s and Chad mucked. On the river with the board showing 8 7 3 3 2, Matt Hawrilenko showed 63 suited for trip 3s, but Matt Glantz showed pocket 7s for the full boat. Glantz took the pot, clawing his way back up to ~500k. Seven players remain. Wednesday, 17th of June 2009 07:00 PM (Kaelaine Minton reporting) Short stacked Soheil Shamseddin got all-in against Chad Brown. Soheil's AK suited held up against Chad's AQ off and Soheil doubled through. Soheil continued his rush, getting all-in on a flop of Q 8 3 against Matt Hawrilenko. Soheil's KQ off had out-flopped Matt's AK off. The last two came 5 K and Soheil doubled again. And again, Soheil got all-in holding pocket 3s against Michiel Brummelhuis, who held AK off. The board came Q 9 5 J 5 and Soheil doubled again. He's back to about 300k. Now that this final table is on camera, the breaks come more often. They took another twenty. Chip counts as of the break:
Play resumed with Level 23: Blinds 15k/30k. Matt Glantz got his dwindling stack in pre-flop against Daniel Alaei, who held pocket 6s. Matt held AK suited and it was race-time. The board came K Q 5 8 Q and Matt doubled up to ~375k. Wednesday, 17th of June 2009 06:00 PM (Kaelaine Minton reporting) The final nine took a break at the end of level 21 and resumed play with Level 22: Blinds 13K/25k. Matt Glantz has been spewing chips ever since he hit the million-chip-mark. He recently tangled with Daniel Alaei and got check-raised on the turn. Matt surrendered his hand. Daniel has chipped up to 1.4 million. Then Matt tangled with Kenny Hsiung. Matt raised from the button and Kenny hit it again from the big blind. The flop came Q 7 4 and Kenny fired. Matt made the call. Turn was a 2. Kenny fired again and Matt put his last chips in the pot. Kenny held KT for zip, nada, air. Matt held QT for top pair. River was a brick and Matt doubled up -- to 350k. Kenny was left with two big blinds. Chad Brown took his pocket Aces to the river against Soehil Shamseddin. The Aces held up and Chad is up to 650k. Kenny got his last chips in against Daniel Alaei holding AT, only to discover that he was in bad shape against Daniel's pocket Tens. Didn't matter in this case since an Ace hit the board and Kenny doubled up -- to fewer than four big blinds. Kenny then committed the last of his chips to the pot holding KQ off and was faced with Daniel Alaei's A8 off. An Ace on the flop was bad news for Kenny. The start of day three chip leader is now history. Kenny Hsiung finished in 9th place, earning $55,996. Soheil Shamseddin ran his pocket Kings into Pat Pezzin's pocket Aces. They were firing bets and raises all the way to the river when Pat got his last chips in and called. Pat's Aces were good and he doubled up to ~1 million. Soheil was left with ~125k. Chad then cracked Pat's next pair of Aces with a mere JT suited. Chad flopped the open-ender and got there on the turn. He's up to ~1 million. Wednesday, 17th of June 2009 05:00 PM (Kaelaine Minton reporting) Play resumed with Level 21: Blinds 10k/20k. Matt Glantz opened with a raise and Greg Mueller called behind. Matt fired on the flop and turn as the cards came J T 8 6 (rainbow) and Greg called both bets. River was an Ace and froze the action. They checked it down and Matt showed QJ for top pair. Greg mucked. Matt raised again and Michiel Brummelhuis hit it again from the button. Matt called to see the flop of A His lead was short-lived, however. He surrendered a hand on the river after calling all the way, then he went to the river with Soheil Shamseddin, only to have Soheil show him pocket Aces, which were good to take the pot. Soheil is up to 600k now. Matt has dropped back down to ~650k. Still nine players in action. Wednesday, 17th of June 2009 04:00 PM (Kaelaine Minton reporting) There was a pause in the action as the final ten got set up with microphones for filming on feature table two (there is an NHL charity event being filmed on feature one). They got cards back in the air and got back to business. Soheil Shamseddin folded on the river to Michiel Brummelhuis's bet. The board read A K 7 5 3. Chad Brown laid it down after Matt Galntz check-raised him on a flop of K 6 5 with two clubs. Mark Klecan surrendered on the river to Greg 'FBT' Mueller's bet on a board of 8 7 5 8 9. Daniel Alaei's pocket 9s were good at showdown against Greg's pocket 8s. Daniel is now up to 980k, good for the chip lead. Greg check-raised Mark Klecan's river bet. The board read Q 4 4 5 A and Mark called, only to see Greg turn over AQ off for two pair. Mark was left with only 35k. Mark then got his last chips in against Daniel. Mark held KJ offsuit and Daniel held pocket 4s. The board brought no help for Mark as it ran out A 6 5 2 4 giving Daniel a set and the pot. Mark Klecan finished in 10th place, earning $41,040. They are now down to the final nine players and the 'official' final table. It is also official break time, so players are taking 20. Chip counts as of the break:

The flop came A 5 3 and Kenny checked. Soheil fired and got the call. Turn was a Jack and Kenny led out, getting raised by Soheil. Kenny called. River was a Q and Kenny checked. Soheil fired a final bullet and got the call. Soheil showed A5 off for two pair. Kenny mucked. On a flop of J 9 5, Maria Ho checked to Pat, who bet. She then check-raised him and got the call. Turn was an Ace and again Maria check-raised Pat's bet, getting the call. River was a 3. Maria bet and Pat called, showing A8 suited for a pair of Aces. Maria claimed she had a Jack, but mucked her hand. She's down to ~190k. On the river with a final board of K T 4 8 6, Maria Ho got the last of her chips in and called by Kenny. Maria's T9 off (pair of Tens) was beat by Kenny's K5 off (pair of Kings) and Maria was done. Maria Ho finished in 11th place, earning $ 41,040. Kenny showed K7 suited for a pair of 7s to take the pot. Jennifer Harman (bb) got her last chips in after Greg 'FBT Mueller raised. Greg looked her up holding KT suited. Jennifer was ahead with A4 suited, but the board came 7 5 5 2 T giving Greg a pair on the river to bust her. Jennifer Harman finished in 12th place, earning $41,040. Kenny raised from the button, Soheil hit it again from the small blind, then Maria Ho four-bet from the big. Everybody called and the flop came 9 5 4 rainbow. Soheil took the lead and everyone called. Turn was a Queen and again Soheil fired and everyone called. River was an 8 and put three clubs on the board. Again Soheil fired and got called.
