Daniel Alaei Wins It All:
In just the first hand heads-up Scott Clements got it all-in and was called by Alaei. The board would bring no help to Clements and he was eliminated in 2nd place, giving Alaei the win and the bracelet.
Ben Boyd Out in 3rd:
Boyd was just too short-stacked to put up much of a fight. Having to repeatedly go all-in, he finally ran out of cards and was eliminated in 3rd place leaving Daniel Alaei and Scott Clements to battle out. Currently Alaei has a huge chip lead against Clements.
Daniel Negreanu Eliminated in 4th Place: ($130,401)
Scott Clements raised from UTG, and Negreanu reluctantly called from the BB. The flop came 3 4 4 , and Negreanu moved all-in. Clements called with 2 3 5 5 , against Daniel's 2 4 9 T . Negreanu was in the lead with trip 4's, but the A hit on the turn, giving Clements the wheel and leaving Negreanu needing help. The J on the river was a blank, and Daniel Negreanu was sent to rail in 4th place. He earned $130,401.

Daniel was able to scoop the pot in a 4-way hand. Keeping him not only alive for the time being. An apparent crowd favorite, his win came to applause throughout the audience.
The very next hand, Daniel was all-in again. This time pre-flop, and when the board ran out T Q 6 6 5 , he had won again.
Once again, Daniel was all-in the next hand. The board came out T J 4 7 , and as Daniel chanted for a high card, the Q came out on the river and he was suddenly in 3rd place in chips.
John Monnette Eliminated in 5th Place:
Daniel Alaei limped, John Monnette moved all-in for 15,000, and Ben Boyd checked his option. The 4 A 5 on the flop was checked around. The 6 on the turn, and Alaei led out, Boyd called. J on the river and Boyd called another bet from Alaei. Monnette held T 9 2 2, Alaei had T 7 6 3, and Boyd held 2 4 7 8. Boyd had the winning straight and Monnette was gone in 5th place, taking home $97,422 in prize money.

Negreanu Gets a Chop:
Daniel Negreanu has been having a rough time as of late, but he was able to stay alive after moving all-in on the river, he chopped the pot with Ben Boyd.
Boyd Vs. Monnette:
John Monnette raised to open the pot from the button, and Ben Boyd three-bet him from the small blind. Monnette put in the extra bet and it was heads up. The flop came A 2 3 . Boyd led out, Monnette raised, and Boyd called. The turn card was the 3 , and both checked. The river came down the 9 and Boyd led out. Monnette thought it over before calling. Boyd showed A 3 5 9 for threes full of A's, and won the pot. Monnette mucked.
Greg Jamison Eliminated in 6th Place:
Greg Jamison opened with a raise and was called by Daniel Negreanu. The flop was K 3 2 flop came down. Jamison bet, Negreanu two-bet, Jamison three-bet, Negreanu four bet and Jamison called all-in. Jamison's A K 5 3 Vs. Negreanu's J 4 2 2 . The turn came 8 and the river was the A . Negreanu scooped the pot. Jamison takes home $77,736 for his efforts.
Tuesday, 09th of June 2009 08:00 PM (Amanda Rosenfeld reporting) Annie Duke was eliminated by John Monette and Greg Jamison as she was all in preflop as was Greg Jamison. John Monnette had both of them covered. Annie Duke turned over A K Q 2 . Greg Jamison turned over A J 5 3 and Monnette turned over 7 8 9 3 . The board layed out 3 2 6 6 7 . John Monnette won the high with his sevens and sixes and Jamison made a 6 5 3 2 A low. Once Annie Duke was out, she stormed out of the tournament area so she could make her other tournament, the $3,000 horse. Jennifer Harman and Marco Traniello came over to give Daniel Negreanu some support. Daniel Negreanu stated that he has around 900,000 in chips.
Tuesday, 09th of June 2009 07:00 PM (Amanda Rosenfeld reporting) Rich Zhu was eliminated in 9th place when Greg Jamison flopped trip nines and Zhu could not catch any outs on the turn or river. Daniel Negreanu was able to quarter the other Daniel at the table, Daniel Alaei. On a board of 7 J 4 6 , Daniel Negreanu bet and Daniel Alaei called. The river of a 5 went check check and Daniel Negreanu showed A 6 4 3 for two pair and a 7 6 5 3 A low. Daniel Alaei turns over A 8 4 3 for the same low and Daniel Negreanu takes three-quarters of the pot. Play continues...

Scott Clements was able to scoop a pot against Daniel Negreanu when Scott showed AA62 on a board of Q T 5 4 T . He had Aces and Tens. Negreanu showed 5 4 for two pair on the turn that did not survive the river. Here is how the table looks. Cameron Mckinley was eliminated in 10th place giving us our final nine players. Here is who remains: Scott Clements John Monnette Daniel Alaei Daniel Negreanu Ben Boyd Greg Jamison Annie Duke Yueqi Zhu Tom Koral The players played a few pots nine handed before they went on a 1 hour dinner break. They will return around 5:20 p.m. and play at the main stage. This is John Monnette's second final table this year as it is the second for Daniel Negreanu as well.

Here first all in she was able to spike a K on the river to make a set of kings to win the high. The other player in the hand had flopped a set of sixes. The play is down to 11 players. Play stopped momentarily for the bracelet ceremonies. When the cards were back in the air, Daniel Negreanu was able to scoop a few pots. He is now up to around 500,000 in chips.

Scott Clements raised and Daniel Negreanu called from middle position. The action folded to the small blind who also called. The flop came 8 5 . Scott Clements bet and Daniel Negreanu and the small blind call. The turn is a 6 and it checks around. The river came a A and it also checked around. Daniel showed A 5 9 3 and scoops the pot. Daniel Negreanu was joking around with Daniel Alaei saying that he is "like a gnat, you can't squish me. Alaei exclaims "No, you're like a cat" Daniel says "Ya with nine lives". The players are on a 20 minute break.
Tuesday, 09th of June 2009 01:00 PM (Amanda Rosenfeld reporting) The players took their seats at Noon today. Many looked tired from their lack of sleep. However, there were some who were ready to go. When the players arrived and seated, there were some immediate all ins. Toto Leonidas was eliminated in 17th place when he bricked his low draw and the other player made a pair of fives to his fours. Alex Kravchenko was eliminated in 16th place when he could not connect to make the nut low and the other player had a full house. In a pot that was three way between Daniel Negreanu, Annie Duke, Daniel Alaei and another player. Daniel Negreanu limped. Annie Duke limped. The small blind raised, Daniel Alaei calls as does Daniel Negreanu and Annie Duke. The flop comes 5 8 Q . The small blind bets. Daniel Alaei calls and Daniel Negreanu moves all in for his last 15,000. Annie Duke also calls. The turn was an A . The small blind leads out Daniel Alaei folds and Annie Duke calls. The River was a Q . Small blind bets and Annie Duke raised. The small blind called. Annie duke showed Q Q 7 T for quad queens and the other player turned over A 2 3 J for the low. Daniel turns over 2 3 4 3 for the same low. Daniel gets a quarter of the pot and is exactly at 45,000 when everything is done. He started at the same stack. Scott Clements scooped a pot three ways when he made nut nut on the river. The board was J 5 Q 2 8 . Clements showed A 7 2 3 . Pat Pezzin was eliminated in 15th place when his A Q 5 6 with two hearts could not beat his opponents Q T 9 8 on a board of A J 8 K 6. The board had two hearts on the flop. The action went quick and so did Pezzin when he was eliminated. Ted Lawson was also eliminated this hour when his low and high of two pair could not beat the nut low and high of another player. Daniel Negreanu has built his stack up to 140,000 within the first level and a half of play. The final day of play will start with 17 players returning of which one will walk away with a new bracelet and the first place prize of $445,888. Play will begin at 12 p.m. PDT instead of 2 p.m. because ESPN plans to broadcast the final table. Of the 17 returning players Daniel Negreanu, Daniel Alaei, and Annie Duke are some of the big names still left in the field.
