Poker Pro MJ Bernstein's Blog

Well, I am mourning the loss of my iPhone this morning. I have long suspected that it has been under some kind of duress this past month. Dropped calls, screen flickers, no incoming messages- all tell tail signs of something terribly wrong. At 9:30 P.M. EST, I found my iPhone lying powerless in my car's cup holder. I immediately checked for battery life but the screen remained completely blank. I then hooked it up to my car charger for some quick defibrillation but I was too late. My iPhone was dead and it was not coming back. There was no note, but I'm pretty sure it took its own life. I honestly don't think that it belonged in this world anyway and I hope it's in a better place now. I obviously have to go to the Apple Store today to get a replacement and I hope I have better luck with the new one. For those of you who haven't been able to get a hold of me, I'm sorry and now you know why.

I'm actually at the Borgata now in AC. I came down here Friday thinking that there was going to be another 400+ turnout in their Friday tournament and that it would spill over into their Saturday event and the special 1K buy-in satellite on Sunday. Woops. Friday's turnout was only 200+ and after grinding it out for a while, I got all my chips in with AK vs QQ with around 4 tables left. The board bricked and I missed out on pot that would have most likely propelled me to the final table. Anyway, I was pretty disenchanted after that and I just decided to play online all Saturday. I ended up doing that Sunday as well because they only got 160+ for the super. I logged some good sessions and probably made more money then I would have otherwise playing live.

Ryan

I'm heading up to Long Island tomorrow and spending the rest of the week with my family before I go to Mohegan Sun in CT for their Spring Showdown Series. I can't wait to see everyone and I have definitely been brushing up on my Sesame Street impersonations for my nephew Ryan. I know he loves me, but he is at the age now where "uncle Mikee" can't show up unless Elmo and Kermit are with him. Of course, these are the kinds of things that make life worth living and there is just something about Ryan that always brings a smile to my face. As far as the Mohegan tournaments go, the structures look REALLY good for the level of buy-ins which start at $300+. I am looking forward to playing and I hope to do quite well. If you want to see the schedule and structure sheets, click here. This is definitely a great value if you are in the area.

Finally, I am happy to report Vilma got to spend Easter at home. She has been out of the hospital for a little while now but will go back soon for a bone marrow transplant. We are all looking forward to the transplant being a complete success and having her back home full time.

See you at the tables,

MJ
