Cory Albertson - 10th place
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 10:04 PM

Matt Culberson opened for 14,500 (utg) then Cory Albertson moved all-in for 38,500. Philip Sparta spent some time in the tank, then announced a raise to 65k. James Kelley then called all-in. Back to Matt, who mucked his pocket 7s. Cory held pocket Tens. James held pocket Queens. Philip, who had the most chips, held pocket Aces. The board came A Q 2 7 5 giving both Philip and James a set, but it was Philip's set of Aces that took the pot, busting two players at once.

James Kelly - 9th place
Cory Albertson finished in 10th place, earning $7,817.
James Kelly finished in 9th place, earning $9,771.

That's it for today. Because of the double-elimination, the final table will begin with only 8 players. They are bagging their chips now. Counts will be posted shortly.

Bill Bostick - 11th place
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 09:53 PM

After a raise from Matt Culberson, Bill Bostick moved in. Matt asked for the count, then made the call. Bill held pocket Queens and the lead. Matt held AK off. The board came T 6 4 A J and Matt caught his Ace on the turn to take the pot.

William (Bill) Bostick finished in 11th place, earning $7,817.

The final ten have drawn seats and moved to a single table. Play will continue until one more is busted.

Bill Hobbs - 12th place
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 09:44 PM

Bill Hobbs (sb) got all his chips in and called by Justin Allen (bb). Bill's AQ off would need help to beat Justin's pocket 7s. He got an Ace on the flop, but it was accompanied by a 7. The final board was A K 7 6 8 and Bill hit the rail.

Bill Hobbs finished in 12th place, earning $7,817.

Bach 'B' Vu - 13th place
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 09:38 PM

Bill Hobbs opened for 15k, then after about a minute in the tank, Bach Vu moved all-in. Larry Price, the big stack on the big blind, called. Bill opted out and Larry showed pocket Kings. Bach said "That's sick" as he rolled over his pocket Queens. The board came J 5 2 8 4 and the monster stack gets bigger.

Bach 'B' Vu finished in 13th place, earning $6,840.

BJ McBrayer - 14th place
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 09:16 PM

Philip Sparta opened and BJ McBrayer shoved from the big blind. Philip looked him up, showing AK off. BJ was ahead with pocket 5s, but the board came K 9 2 9 7 and Philip took the pot with Kings-up.

BJ McBrayer finished in 14th place, earning $6,840.

End of level 12 and players are on a 15 minute break.

Jimmy Nickens - 15th place
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 09:11 PM

Jimmy Nickens opened for 11k and Larry Price kicked it on up to 40k. Jimmy moved all in and Larry called. Jimmy's pocket 7s were ahead of Larry's KJ off, but the board came Q 9 4 3 K and Larry caught the bigger pair on the river to take the pot.

Jimmy Nickens finished in 15th place, earning $6,840.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 09:07 PM

Jeremy Gaubert (utg) got all-in against Justin Allen (sb) and they both tabled AK offsuit. It appeared they were headed for a split pot, but the board ran out A Q 9 Q 8. With four spades on the board, the pot went to Jeremy, who held the K for the nut flush. His all-in amount was 108,500, so he has doubled up to about 220k and knocked Justin down several pegs in the chip standings.

Justin Truesdell - 16th place
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 08:57 PM

After a raise from Larry Price and a call from Justin Allen in the cutoff, Justin Truesdell moved all-in from the small blind. Larry opted out and Justin made the call, showing T8 suited. Truesdell was ahead with AK suited, but the board came J T 8 T 8 giving Allen the overly-full-boat and all of Truesdell's chips.

Justin Truesdell finished in 16th place, earning $5,863.

Corrie 'slim' Wunstel - 17th place
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 08:50 PM

Corrie 'slim' Wunstel opened for 12k and Larry Price raised it up to 25k. Slim made the call and the flop came A 9 7. Slim moved all-in and Larry called, showing AJ suited for top pair. Slim held pocket deuces and his chances were, in fact, slim. He needed a duck to hit the board, but the last two cards were 6 Q and Larry took the pot, extending his chip lead.

Corrie 'slim' Wunstel finished in 17th place, earning $5,863.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 08:44 PM

Bill Bostick opened for 12k utg, got one caller, then William Payne moved all-in from the middle. Then Matt Culberson moved all-in from the small-blind and Bill Bostick moved all-in, too (the caller opted out). Bill showed pocket Aces. William held pocket Jacks. Matt held....pocket Aces! The board came Q 3 3 8 3 and William contributed to the pot that the other two guys split!

David Diaz - 18th place
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 08:25 PM

After everyone folded to his button, David Diaz shoved his last ~40k in. Justin Jones made the call from the big blind, showing pocket Kings. David held T 6 and needed a lot of help to survive. The board came A 8 3 A 8 and it was no help to David.

David Diaz finished in 18th place, earning $5,863.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 08:20 PM

Matt Culberson (sb) got all-in and called by BJ McBrayer (bb). Matt's pocket Aces had BJ's AK suited crushed. The board came Q Q 8 4 Q and Matt doubled up to over 120k.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 08:10 PM

Jeremy Gaubert got his short-stack in against Justin Truesdell (bb). Jeremy held A5 suited and was ahead of Justin's J6 suited. The board came 4 4 3 7 3 and Jeremy doubled up.

Jeremy got all in again, this time with pocket 7s against Jimmy Nickens, who held AQ off. The board came K J 5 4 3 and Jeremy doubled up, again.

Then it was Jimmy's turn to get all-in against David Diaz. Jimmy held A8 suited and was behind David's AQ suited, but the board came T 8 6 3 5 and Jimmy doubled up with a pair of 8s.

Jared Ingles - bubble-boy
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 06:35 PM

Jared Ingles opened the pot from the hijack, then BJ McBrayer re-popped it another 17k from the button. Back to Jared, who tanked for a couple of minutes, then moved all-in. BJ asked for the count and it was 43,800 more to him. BJ made the call, showing AK off. Jared held KQ off and was badly dominated. He needed a Queen or miracle straight to survive, but the board came A J 2 K 7 and Jared Ingles is today's bubble-boy, finishing in 19th place.

The final 18 are now drawing seats and moving to the final two tables.

Then they're going to dinner until 8pm.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 06:25 PM

The clock for level 11 has run out, but the TD Jason Lipscomb has announced that there will be no break, no dinner, and no increase in blinds until the bubble bursts. Play continues hand-for-hand.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 06:21 PM

On a flop of 3 3 2, William Payne (bb) bet 25k. Matt Culberson (middle) tanked. He tried to get William to talk, asking if he had a hand. "I had better that that [pointing to the flop] before I started". Matt asked if he would show if he folded. "I never show a bluff" William responded. He wouldn't commit either way. Finally, Matt folded pocket 4s face up. William pushed his cards to the dealer as he reached for the pot. Then he reached out and turned his hand face up: T 8 -- no pair, no draw. I guess he does occasionally show a bluff!

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 06:11 PM

Justin Allen opened for 7,800 and then Matt Culberson moved all-in from the button. Justin asked for the count, which was 22,300 more. Justin called, showing J9 off (no that is not a typo). Matt held AT off and the lead. The flop came Q T 4 giving Justin the open-ender, but increasing Matt's lead with a pair of Tens. He would need to dodge Kings and 8s to stay alive. The last two were 5 T and Matt doubled up.

On a final board of A Q 6 5 5 Philip Sparta and Cory Albertson checked it down. Philip showed K J for the flush to take the nice pot.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 06:07 PM

James Kelly moved his short-stack in and got the insta-call from David Diaz. James said "I hope you have pocket Kings" basically telling the world he held pocket Aces. "Don't suck out on me!" James cried. Sure enough, David held pocket Kings. The board came 8 7 3 Q J and James doubled up.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 05:56 PM

After the flop of 8 6 3 Corrie 'slim' Wunstel (bb) check-raised BJ Brayer another 25k. BJ asked for a count of what Slim had left -- 36,300 more. BJ finally announced he was all-in. Bach Vu (sb) got out of the pot and Slim made the call. BJ held pocket 9s. Corrie held pocket 3s for the set and the lead. Unless a 9 or two runners to make a straight appeared on the board, Corrie was headed for a double-up. The last two came 2 K and Slim is now fat with chips at BJ's expense.

Dr, Mark Burtman - busted
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 05:46 PM

Dr. Mark Burtman got his last chips in with A4 off and got looked up by David Diaz, who held QJ offsuit. The board came T 9 4 Q T and the turn ended Mark's day, in 21st place.

Tyler Smith - tossed
Tyler Smith got his last chips in with pocket 6s, only to run into Larry Price's pocket 7s. The board bricked out 9 4 2 8 K and Tyler reported to the rail in 20th place.

With 19 players remaining it is bubble-time. They are now playing hand-for-hand until one more is eliminated.

Chris Lovelace - no love left
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 05:39 PM

On a flop of J 9 4 Chris Lovelace got his last chips in the middle. Bill Hobbs looked him up with Q J for top pair. Chris held T 8 for the open-ender. He would need help to survive. The dealer didn't bring it, though. The last two were T K and Bill took the pot. Chris finished in 22nd place, just 4 spots off the money.

Ken Norman - snaked
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 05:35 PM

After Justin 'LockdownTex' Allen opened from the middle, Ken 'the Snake' Norman moved all in for 17,900 more on his left. Action folded back to Justin, who made the call, showing A2 off. Ken's AQ off was way ahead, but the board came 9 6 2 J 6 and Justin paired his duck to drown the Snake. Ken finished 23rd, just five spots short of the money.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 05:21 PM

Tyler Smith opened for 8k (utg) and Ken Norman smooth-called from the middle, then Justin Jones jacked it up to 20k on the button. Tyler folded and after a bit of thought, Ken tossed his pocket Jacks in. Justin showed his A Q as he pulled the pot. Nice squeeze play, Justin.

John M. Gomez - goner
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 05:14 PM

Bill Bostick raised it up pre-flop and John Gomez made the call. The flop came J 7 3 and John was all-in. Bill looked him up with pocket 9s. John held A Q for the nut-flush draw with two overs, making him about even money to double-up. Nevertheless, the last two came K 5 and Bill's pair was good. John Gomez hit the rail in 25th place.

Jacob Petersen - jilted
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 04:30 PM

All the chips went in on the flop of Q T 3. Jacob Petersen held A Q for top pair. BJ McBrayer held pocket Kings and the lead. Jacob needed an Ace or Queen to survive, but the last two came 8 5. Jacob finished in 25th place.

7 more must go to reach the money.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 04:22 PM

Things had been quiet for a while, then we got a little flurry of activity.

On a flop of A Q 8 Justin Jones and Chris Lovelace got into a raising war until all their chips were in the middle. Chris held A 4 (top pair, nut flush draw) and was at risk. Justin held A 8 for two pair and the lead. Then the last two came 5 Q and they had to split the pot.

After the flop came J 9 4 Philip Sparta (bb) got all his chips in against Cory Albertson (button). Philip held A 7 (Ace-high). Cory held A 6 for Ace-high with a slightly weaker kicker. The last two cards roled out T 2 and Philip's kicker played, doubling him up.

Chris 'Rock' Gurney - gonzo
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 03:54 PM

After Justin Jones raised in the middle, Bill Hobbs shoved on the button. Rock Gurney called all-in for less from the small blind, and it was back to Justin. He tanked for a bit, but eventually mucked his pocket Jacks face-up. Good thing, too, since Bill rolled over pocket Aces. Rock held AK off and would need a lot of help to survive. The board came Q 8 3 7 Q and Rock was busted in 26th place.

Kenneth Blanton - busted
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 03:24 PM

Justin Truesdell got all-in with pocket 4s against the AK off of Matt Culberson. The board came J T 8 7 7 and Justin doubled up.

Kenneth Blanton got all-in with pocket Queens with action from Bill Bostick, who held AK. Bill's AK fared better as there was an Ace in the window. The board ran out A J J 5 7 and Bill took the pot, sending Kenneth to the rail in 27th place.

End of level 9 and players are taking 15.

Darryll Fish - hooked
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 03:08 PM

Darryll Fish got all in against BJ Brayer and was busted in 29th place.

Torrey Reilly got all-in against Justin Truesdell with A9 off. Justin's KJ suited took the lead when the flop came Q J T. Torrey's Ace was no good now; he needed a King or 8 for the straight, but the last two were 6 4 and he busted out in 28th place.

With 27 players remaining, they did a complete redraw and moved to the final three tables. Nine more must go to reach the money.

Justin Jones
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 03:00 PM

With the board reading A J 7 4 8 Justin Jones got all his chips in the middle against the monster stack of William Payne. William held AT off for top pair. Justin held pocket 4s for the set and the double-up, taking a bite out of the chip leader.

Brian Green - goner
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 02:41 PM

David Fox got his last chips in with pocket 7s, only to run into the pocket 8s of Jacob Petersen. The board ran out 9 9 2 T A and Dr. Fox was discharged in 31st place.

Brian Green got his last chips in with A6 off and got the look-up from Jeremy Gaubert, who held AJ offsuit. The board came 8 5 5 K 3 and Brian hit the rail in 30th place.

Larry Elliott - ejected
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 02:27 PM

On a flop of 6 5 2 Chris Lovelace got all-in against Darryll Fish. Darryll held 3 2 for bottom pair. He was ahead of Chris' K J (two overs). Then the last two came A K and Chris caught his double-up on the river.

With a board of T 5 2 Larry Elliott got all-in and called by Larry Price. Elliott held 9 7 or the flush draw. Price was ahead with AT for top pair, top kicker. Elliott needed a diamond or two runners to survive, but the board bricked out and he was busted, 32nd.

After the dealer rolled out T 9 3 Jimmy Nickens moved his last 25,900 in against Kenneth Blanton. Jimmy held QJ offsuit for the open-ender. Kenneth held pocket 3s for the set. Turn was an 8, completing Jimmy's straight. Kenneth needed the board to pair, but the river was a 6 and Jimmy doubled up.

William 'wilpay' Payne
Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 02:13 PM

On a flop of T 7 5 D. Archer moved all in and got the insta-call from big stack William Payne. Archer held T 9 for top pair, but Wilpay held J T for the better kicker. Archer would need a 9 to survive, but the last two cards peeled off 5 3 and Archer hit the rail in 33rd place. William added more chips to his already massive stack.

Tuesday, 09th of December 2008 02:04 PM

Level 9: Blinds 800/1,600 with 200 antes. Cards are in the air.
