Travis Erdman opened for 13k from the button and Ty Stewart called from the big blind. Both checked the flop of J 9 5. Turn was the 5. Ty checked, Travis bet 16k, and Ty called. River was the 6. Ty checked, Travis bet 25k and after just a few seconds, Ty called with about half of his remaining chips. Travis pushed his cards toward the dealer face-down. Ty asked to see the hand andTravis turned over T 7 for squa-doosh. Ty turned over A 7 for Ace-high squa-doosh to take the pot!

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 11:07 PM

Ty Stewart opened for 12k and Jake Solis moved in. Ty called all-in, showing J 8. Jake was ahead with K 2 and had Ty's flush possibilities nullified. The board came Q 5 2 4 J and Ty caught a pair on the river to double up.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 11:01 PM

After Chris Ferguson raised from the button, Scott Clements moved all in from the small blind for 21k. Chris called the raise and showed A2 off. Scott had him dominated with AT suited. The board came A 6 4 K 3 and Scott doubled up.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 10:47 PM

Ty Stewart got his last chips in with A 8 and ran into Travis Erdman's pocket Queens. The board came 8 2 2 A 3 and Ty paired his Ace to double up to ~85k.

Preston Derden shoved his short stack in with KQ off and Michael Binger looked him up from the big blind with 9 7. Preston improved to top pair on the flop of K T 6 while Michael picked up a gutshot. Turn was the 9 giving Michael a smaller pair, then the river brought the 7 giving Michael two pair and giving Preston the boot.

Preston Derden finished in 12th place, earning $9,603.

Travis Erdman opened for 10k utg and Jake Solis called from the big blind. The flop came 6 4 3. Jake bet 15k and Travis upped it to 36k. Jake called. Turn was the Q. Jake checked, Travis bet 40k, and Jake check-raised to 100k. Travis spent some time in the tank, then folded. Jake showed Q6 for two pair. With that pot, Jake cemented his place as chip leader with 377k.

End of level 16 and players are taking 15.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 10:20 PM

On the river with a very large pot, the board showed Q 9 2 7 K. Michael Binger bet 30k and Preston Derden made the call, showing AQ for top/top. Michael tabled JT suited for the King-high straight (welcome to Value Town, Preston) to take the big pot. Preston was left with only ~35k while Michael chipped up to 318k.

Rick Troendly - 13th place
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 10:08 PM

Rick Troendly open-shoved for 57,500 and Bill Bostick looked him up with pocket Jacks. Rick held 6 5 (I kid you not). The board came K 6 2 T 3 and Bill's pocket Jacks held up.

'Raiser' Rick Troendly finished in 13th place, earning $8,323.

On a flop of A K 9 rainbow, Michael Binger checked to Scott Clements, who bet 13k. Michael called and the turn was a 6. Scott checked, Michael bet 20k, and Scott called. River was another 6 and they checked it down. Michael showed AT off for Aces-up and Scott mucked. He was down to ~43k after that hand.

Emilio Porcalla - 14th place
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 10:01 PM

Emilio Porcalla got his last chips in with A K and ran into the pocket Aces of Bill Bostick. The flop was all spades, which killed Emilio's hopes for a flush. The cards ran out T 8 2 2 6 and Emilio was busted.

Emilio Porcalla finished in 14th place, earning $8,323.

Michael Cooper - 15th place
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 09:52 PM

Michael Cooper shoved from the button for his last 36,500 and Travis Erdman (sb) looked him up. Michael held K8 off and Travis had a slight lead with A7 off. An Ace hit the flop and Michael couldn't catch up. He hit the rail while Travis chipped up to ~370k.

Michael Cooper finished in 15th place, earning $8,323.

Chris Dombrowski - 16th place
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 09:31 PM

Chris Dombrowski got his chips in the middle again and this time got action from Travis Erdman. Chris held pocket Jacks and was ahead of Travis' AK, but a King hit the flop to give Travis the lead and Chris couldn't catch up.

Chris Dombrowski finished in 16th place, earning $7,042.

James 'Drew' Marks - 17th place
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 09:21 PM

Drew Marks got his last chips in with KT and got action from Jake Solis, who held pocket 7s. Drew would need help to survive, but he couldn't connect with the board and was busted. Jake continues to grow his stack, now up to about a quarter-million.

James "Drew" Marks finished in 17th place, earning $7,042.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 09:17 PM

Rick Troendly's pocket Aces held up and he doubled up through Scott Clements (sb). They got all in on a flop of K Q 7 and Scott held KT for top pair. The last two came 5 7 and Rick is now back to almost 100k while Scott was left with about 70k.  **Scott came over later and told me to make a note of how horribly he played this hand.**

Level 16:  Blinds 2k/4k with 500 antes.  Play continues.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 09:05 PM

Bill Bostick limped from the hijack and both blinds came along for the flop of K Q J. All three players checked. Turn was the 4 and 'Raiser' Rick Troendly (sb) bet 6k. Tay Nguyen (bb) raised to 18k. Bill folded and Rick re-raised another 15k on top. After a bit of thought, Tay made the call. River was the 9. Rick quickly fired 15k. Tay tanked longer this time. Rick told Tay he would show his cards, but Tay continued to think. He finally called and Rick tossed his cards toward the muck. Tay showed a "flat tire" (What's a J4? ...hold for laughs...) for two pair to take the pot. That's a big blind special, for you.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 08:51 PM

They have entered the 'raise and take it' portion of the tournament. Chris Dombrowski has moved in twice and got no action either time. With the blinds and antes, he picks up 7,700 in chips each time he does that (8 players on his table).

Glenn Uchibori - 18th place
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 08:34 PM

Glenn Uchibori moved in with pocket Tens, only to run into Jake Solis' pocket Kings. The Kings held up and Glenn was done. Jake chipped up to almost 220k and might be the new chip leader.

Glenn Uchibori finished in 18th place, earning $7,042.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 08:24 PM

On the turn, the board showed 8 7 6 Q and Chris Ferguson (bb) bet 11k. Mike McClain (hijack) called. River was the T. Both checked. Chris showed AQ for top pair, top kicker. Mike showed QT for two pair to take the pot.

On the other table, Ty Stewart opened for 20k and Jake Solis min-raised to 40k, which was enough to cover Ty. Back to Ty, who put the rest of his chips in, showing pocket 9s. Jake was way ahead with pocket Queens. Then the board came T 6 3 9 A and Ty caught a set on the turn to double up.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 08:17 PM

Level 15: Blinds 1,500/3,000 with 400 antes. They are starting this level again with a full hour on the clock, to compensate for the hand-for-hand delays.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 07:10 PM

Chris Dombrowski min-raised utg and it folded around to Kathy Liebert in the big blind, who called. On the flop of A Q 3, Kathy put the last of her chips in and Chris called. Kathy held pocket 9s and Chris held KQ for a pair of Queens. The last two cards came J J and Chris took the pot, busting Kathy.

Kathy Liebert is today's bubble-girl, finishing in 19th place.

The final 18 are now all in the money and are redrawing seats for the final two tables. Once they have relocated their chips, it will be time for a one hour dinner break.

Play will resume at about 8:15pm.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 07:01 PM

Rick Troendly min-raised to 6k from the button. Chris Ferguson called from the small blind, as did Ty Stewart from the big. The flop came T 6 5 rainbow. Chris checked, Ty moved his last 10,300 all-in, and Rick called. Chris folded and Ty showed T7 off for top pair. Rick held 53 suited for bottom pair. Turn was the 2 which gave Rick a flush draw and gutshot, but the river was an offsuit 6 and Ty doubled up.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 06:55 PM

With a board of Q 9 3 9 Rick Troendly (bb) checked, Allen Kessler fired 10k, Rick check-raised to 23k, and Allen called. River was the 5 and Rick bet 14k. Allen mucked.

Still 19 players...still hand-for-hand.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 06:43 PM

Level 15: Blinds 1,500/3,000 with 400 antes. Play continues, still hand-for-hand.

The dinner break has been put off until the bubble bursts.

Allen 'Chainsaw' Kessler
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 06:27 PM

Allen 'Chainsaw' Kessler got all-in for 81,700 against Chris Dombrowski. Allen held pocket Kings and was way ahead of Chris' pocket 8s. Then the flop came A 9 8 giving Chris a set of 8s, but giving Allen the nut flush draw since he was holding the K. Turn was the 2 completing Allen's flush. Chris needed the board to pair on the river, but it was the 7 and the Chainsaw carved out a double up to ~165k, leaving Chris with ~47k.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 06:19 PM

On the turn, the board showed A J T A. Travis Erdman (bb) checked to Mike McClain, who bet 10k. Travis called and the river was another Jack. Travis lead with 25k, then Mike announced he was all-in. Travis took about half a minute, then released his hand.

Scott Clements
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 06:06 PM

Scott Clements got all-in pre-flop with KQ against Travis Erdman's pocket Jacks. Scott caught a Queen on the flop to take the lead....and another Queen on the turn...and another Queen on the river for quads. He doubled up to ~44k.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 05:43 PM

Level 14:  Blinds 1,200/2,400 with 300 antes.  Play continues, still hand-for-hand.

Kathy Liebert - last woman sitting
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 05:41 PM

On a flop of A 9 8 rainbow, Drew Marks (sb) check-raised all-in for 45,900 against Michael Binger (bb). Binger tanked for a couple of minutes, then folded.

Kathy Liebert opened for 6k from the cutoff, then Allen Kessler raised to 21k from the small blind. Kathy let it go and Allen showed pocket Kings.

Carol Hampton got all-in with AK and was racing against Michael Binger's pocket Jacks. Both an Ace and a Jack hit the board, shipping the pot to Michael and sending Carol home. With her departure, Kathy Liebert is the last woman sitting.

That also means 19 players remain, so it is bubble-time.  One more poor soul must leave without getting paid.  They are now playing hand-for-hand until one more busts out.

Neal Cooke - cooked
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 05:25 PM

Chris Dombrowski opened for 5,500 utg and then Neal Cooke moved all-in for 9,600. All folded around to Chris, who made the call with pocket Kings. Neal showed pocket 9s and he was hoping for a two-outer. The board came T 7 3 A T and that was it for Neal.

Kathy Liebert got her short stack all-in with pocket Kings with action from Preston Derden, who held pocket 7s. The board bricked out and Kathy doubled up to ~45k.

Scott Clements limped up front and both blinds saw the flop of K J 2. Everybody checked. Turn was another 2 and everybody checked. River was a Ten and Shawn Bessey (sb) bet 2k (the minimum). Bill Bostick (bb) called, then Scott shoved. Shawn called all-in while Bill folded. Shawn held 32 for trip ducks. Scott tabled pocket Kings for Kings-ull to take the pot and bust Shawn in the process.

Scott Roberds busted out when he ran AK into Preston Derden's pocket Kings.  That brings the player count to 20.  Only 18 will get paid.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 05:07 PM

Chris Dombrowski open-shoved for ~31k, then Neal Cooke shoved for ~45k. Everyone else opted out and Chris showed pocket Tens. Neal rolled over JT suited. The board came 7 5 5 7 5 putting a full house on board but Chris' pocket Tens gave him a better full house and he doubled up, leaving Neal with only ~14k.

On the river with the board reading Q Q T 4 A Ty Stewart fired 15k at the pot. Chris Dombrowski moved all-in and got the call. Ty showed A 5 for the turned nut flush. Chris showed AQ for the rivered full boat. Chris took the pot, doubling up again to over 130k, while Ty's stack was chopped down to 25k.

Kevin Archbold - busted
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 04:55 PM

On the turn with a board of A Q 3 T Jason Sanders (bb) bet 13k. Michael Binger (button) made the call. River was the 7. Jason checked, Michael looked like he wanted to bet, but eventually checked behind, showing A J. Jason mucked his hand and Michael chipped up to ~120k.

Scott Clements limped from the hijack, then Travis Erdman raised to 8k from the cutoff. Kevin Archbold then moved all-in for 12k from the big blind. Scott folded and Travis made the call, showing AT off. Kevin held pocket 5s. The baord came A Q 2 9 7 and Kevin was busted while Travis added more chips to his stack.

Preston Derden busted Tom Masinter. 23 players remain. Average is over 86k.

End of level 12 and players are enjoying 15 minutes away from the felt.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 04:26 PM

Bill Bostick opened for a raise, Scott Clements called, then Dustin Gomes kicked it up to 15k. Back to Bill, who moved all-in. Scott ducked for cover and Dustin called all-in, showing AK. Bill held pocket Aces. The board blanked out and Bill took the pot. Dustin headed for the rail. Bill chipped up to ~165k, good for the chip lead.

Shayne Heinz has also busted out. 25 players remain. Average stack is 79,200.

Chris Dombrowski
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 04:12 PM

Play has resumed.

Just before the redraw, Chris Dombrowski and Jake Solis tangled in a raising war from the blinds. Jake eventually got all in for 52k and Chris looked him up with pocket Kings. Jake held A7 suited. The board came 8 5 2 A 9 and Jake was saved by the Ace on the turn, doubling up while taking a big bite out of the former chip leader.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 04:02 PM

Jango Broomfield got all-in with pocket Kings and got called by Mike McClain, who held A9 off. The board came A 3 2 T 6 giving Mike the pair of Aces and the pot while giving Jango the rest of the day off.

Just like that, they are down to 27 players and doing a redraw for the final three tables. The clock is paused as they play musical chairs.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 03:52 PM

After a raise and a call, Glenn Uchibori moved all in for ~42k. The opener folded, but Tom Masinter made the call, showing AK off. Glenn held pocket Jacks and the lead. The board came 9 5 4 J 6 and Glenn doubled up.

Marty Wong opened for 3,600 and Carol Hampton called from the small blind. Both checked down the board of J T 8 6 2. Marty held pocket 9s. Carol showed AT off for a pair of Tens to take the pot. Carol is now up to ~110k.

Emilio Porcalla opened for 4,100 from the button and Aaron Kanter shoved from the small blind. Emilio made the call, showing pocket Aces. Aaron held pocket 6s and would need a lot of help to survive. It did not come, however, and Aaron reported to the rail.

Jason Sanders busted Jacobo Fernando, but I didn't get the details.

More goners: Patty Sodja, Scott Paust, Joe Fernandez, and Fred Lopez.

30 players remain. Average stack is 66k.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 03:38 PM

On the turn with a board of T 5 3 6, Jason Sanders (sb) bet 3,500. Jacobo Fernando called from the big blind and Drew Marks (utg+1) came along for the ride. River was the K. Jason checked, Jacobo checked, Drew tanked for about a minute, then checked. Jason showed 9 5 for a lowly pair of 5s. The other two mucked and Jason took the pot!

Robert Cheung (utg) got all-in with AQ off against Dustin Gomes' pocket Kings. The board came J J 3 3 6 and Dustin doubled up his 35,500 stack, leaving RCW with only 800 chips.

On the next hand, Robert was all in for 600 on the big blind. Ty Stewart opened for 4k up front. All folded to Scott Clements in the small blind, who moved all-in. Ty folded his KJ suited face up. Scott held AQ off and was way ahead of Robert's K6 off. Then the board came T 8 4 7 6 and Robert caught a pair on the river to triple up.

On the next hand, Robert folded his small blind after Dustin Gomes raised to 5k from the middle. Robert held out for a couple more hands, but finally got the last of his chips in and was busted.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 03:21 PM

Level 12: Blinds 800/1,600 with 200 antes. Play continues.

Michael Binger
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 03:19 PM

Ty Stewart opened for 4k, then Jake Solis made it 12k. Ty called and the flop came Q Q 3. Both checked. Turn was a Jack and both checked again. River was a 6 and Ty bet 15k. Jake made the call and Ty showed pocket Jacks for the full house. Jake mucked.

Chris Ferguson opened for 3,500 from the middle and Tom Masinter kicked it on up to ~12k. Chris let it go.

Michael Binger opened for 3,500 from the cutoff. Thomas Galusha moved all-in from the big blind, having Michael covered. Michael called all-in for 18,600, showing A 9. Thomas held AK off and was way ahead. Then the board came A 4 2 3 9 and Michael caught his 3-outer on the river to double up.

On a flop of A 8 3 Emilio Porcalla (bb) checked and Marty Wong (button) fired 4,200. Emilio called and the turn brought the 9. Emilio checked, Marty moved all-in, and Emilio called all-in for ~18k. Marty held 8 4 for a pair of 8s with flush draw. Emilio showed AT off for a pair of Aces. River was the 2 and Emilio doubled up.

Robert 'RCW' Cheung
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 03:04 PM

Due to the random nature of table balancing and breaking, Robert 'RCW' Cheung now occupies the seat that Chris Ferguson warmed for all of day 1 and the first part of today. Chris was moved across the room to balance another table a short while ago.

After Scott Clements opened for 3,500 from the cutoff, Robert moved in for 9,500 more from the button. After getting the count, Scott made the call, tabling Q T. Robert was ahead with A J. The board came A 8 5 T 2 and Robert doubled up.

Kathy Liebert
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 02:33 PM

Kathy Liebert got her short-stack all-in pre-flop with AJ off and ran into the pocket Queens of Scott Roberds. Kathy would need help to survive -- and she got it when an Ace hit the board. Kathy doubled up to ~30k and Scott was left with only ~7k.

Michael Binger opened for 7k and Preston Derden moved in for ~37k straight.  All folded back to Michael, who made the call showing AK off.  Preston held pocket Queens and it was race-time.  The board came J 3 2 7 9 and Preston doubled up to ~80k while Michael was left with ~50k.

Chris Dombrowski was the chip leader at the start of play, but he's been stuck in neutral today, sitting on about 105k. Travis Erdman is now the chip leader with ~130k. Tom Masinter appears to be second with about 126k.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 02:20 PM

Level 11: Blinds 600/1,200 with 100 antes. Play has resumed.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 02:05 PM

End of level 10 and players are on a 15 minute break.

Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 01:53 PM

After Chris Ferguson opened for 3k, John Neitzel moved all-in for 12k. Chris looked him up with pocket 5s. John held AK off and would need to improve to suvive. Improve he did, when an Ace hit the flop. That's all it took and John doubled through Jesus.

On the turn with a board of A J 2 K, Michael Cooper shoved and Joe Fernandez made the call. Michael held pocket 2s for bottom set. Joe held QT suited for the Broadway straight. Michael needed the board to pair on the river to survive, since Joe had him covered. That's exactly what happened as another Jack hit the river and Michael doubled up. Joe was left with less than 10k.

Carol Hampton
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 01:36 PM

At the river, the board showed K Q 9 J T for a King-high straight on the board. Drew Marks checked to Carol Hampton, who fired 6k. Drew made the crying call, playing the board. Carol showed A4 off for the Ace-high straight to take the pot. Drew was left with fewer than 13k in chips while Carol stacked up to almost 70k.

With a short-stack all-in for 10k, Michael Binger called, as did Tom Masinter.  On the Queen-high flop, Michael fired 16k and Tom bowed out.  Michael held AQ for top pair, top kicker.  The short-stack held A9 and was in bad shape.  No miracle suckout here and another one hit the rail.  Michael chipped up to ~85k.

38 players remain. Average is now over 52k.

Thomas Galusha sacked Bonsack
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 01:21 PM

On the turn with a board of Q J 9 6 Mark Bonsack got all in against Thomas Galusha. Mark held A 7 for the nut flush draw. Thomas held 9 8 for the made flush. Mark would need a heart to survive and the T would not do, as that would give Thomas a straight flush. River was the K and 'Bonsai' Bonsack was sacked.

Level 10: Blinds 500/1,000 with 100 antes. Play continues.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 12:54 PM

Four players took a flop of 8 5 3 and then Mike McClain (bb) moved in for ~21k. After asking for the count, Shayne Heinz made the call. The other two players bowed out and Shayne showed pocket Aces. Mike held A 9 for the nut flush draw. He would need a diamond to survive -- and he got it when the Q hit the turn. River was the K and Mike doubled up. Shayne's stack was crippled down to ~7k in chips.

Jeff Wakamiya shoved utg for 13,000 and Marty Wong asked for a count, but then said "call" before waiting for the final number. Everyone else got out of the way and Marty showed pocket Kings. Jeff's A2 off would need help, but the board did not deliver as it came K 8 4 7 5 and Jeff hit the door. Marty chipped up to more than 80k.

Tim Vance - vanished
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 12:38 PM

Steve Lewis got his chips in good with AK against AJ, but we all know this can be a cruel game. All it took was a Jack on the board to send Steve packing.

Tim Vance has also busted out. He was down to his last 5,500 chips and the button moved in on him, so he put his last chips in from the big blind. His J8 was behind the button's K6. Then a 6 hit the board extending his opponent's lead. Tim couldn't catch a break, or a card, and was busted.

Down to 45 players now and another table has broken. Five 9-handed tables remain. Average stack is now 44,000.

David 'Big H' Paul - done & dusted
Saturday, 15th of November 2008 12:29 PM

On the flop of J 4 3 with two hearts, David 'Big H' Paul got all-in with A 2 (nut flush draw & wheel draw). Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson looked him up with 6 5 (useless flush draw with open-ender). Turn was an offsuit 4 pairing the board. River was a 2 completing the straight for Chris and completing the tournament for Big H.

Chris Dombrowski opened for 2,500 and Yosh Nakano moved in for just a few chips more. Chris made the call, showing pocket 5s. Yosh held AJ and it was race-time. Unfortunately for Yosh, the board blanked out and he hit the rail, while Chris' big stack got a little bit bigger.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 12:21 PM

On a flop of K 9 7  Jason Adler (bb) got all his chips in the middle holding K 7  (two pair).  Jango Broomfield (sb) looked him up holding A 8 (nut flush draw).  Turn was the A giving Jango one pair, then the river brought the T completing Jango's flush and sending Jason home.

David 'Big H' Paul and Yosh Nakano got their chips in the middle and David's A9 held up against Yosh's A3 to double him up.

Mark Muchnik ran his pocket Jacks into Jason Sanders' pocket Aces and it looked like Mark was going to have a short day.  Then a Jack hit the flop and Mark doubled up to ~22k.

Saturday, 15th of November 2008 12:14 PM

All in on the turn with the board showing T 5 4 4 Robert Brown showed 4 3 for trip 4s. Mike Harvey held pocket 7s and had been out-drawn on the turn. It looked like Robert was headed for a double-up and Mike was already lamenting his bad beat when the 7 hit the river giving Mike the full house and the pot. Robert Brown became the first player to hit the rail today.

With 54 players remaining, they broke table 37 and scattered those players around the room, filling in the empty seats. Scott Clements landed at 29-1, on the right of Chris Ferguson and at the table with the two big stacks of Ty Stewart and Chris Dombrowski.
