| Michael DeMichele - 8th | |
And we're done.
First it was Michael DeMichele. Nenad Medic made the shove with just K-2 and DeMichele made the call with AQ. Nenad would outflop him after the dealer tossed out K-9-4. The turn and river were 4's as well and DeMichele won't be at the TV final table.
Right behind DeMichele was Olav Prinz Von Sachsen. The Prinz went over the top of an ElkY raise with the rest of his chips. Grospellier would call with 33. Von Sachsen turned over A 4 and would need some help. The flop was of no help and by the time a 3 came on the turn, he was drawing dead and out on the TV bubble.

Joe Sebok won't finish on the TV final table bubble table this year. He guaranteed that just moments ago by getting it in real bad to finish 9th.
Sebok gave up his chip lead after his AK never caught up to the 77 of Olav Prinz Von Sachsen. He would give the rest away to Grospellier in a battle of the blinds.

| Joe Sebok - 9th | |
After ElkY made it 275 to go from the SB, Sebok shipped. ElkY called with A9, dominating the K9 of Sebok. Nothing doing on the J-high board, meaning ElkY's hand held and Sebok is done. Grospellier is up to 4 million, which may be enough to push the action.
Payout:
9 - Joe Sebok - $85,260
We're two eliminations away from setting this final table.
Saturday, 25th of October 2008 07:15 PM
We're now at the tail end of level 24 and now we're 9-handed.
First it was Michael DeMichele with the shove for about 700K. Nenad Medic, who opened with a raise, would call the additional 400K or so with 67. DeMichele tabled big slick and after neither would find help on the Q-high board, DeMichele's AK-high was good for the double.
Medic, left with just 700K, would commit those chips after a Sebok raise. Joe would make the call, holding just a suited 64. Medic had the AK this time, and after each player picked up a pair, Nenad's were bigger, bringing him back up to 1.2 million. Sebok still has 2 million in front of him.
Then the elimination came.
Mike Wattell would come over the top of a Nenad Medic raise with the rest of his stack and a couple kings in the hole. Medic held AK and would make the call. The Q-10-x flop meant Wattel was still good, then that pesky turn brought a jack, hitting Medic in the gut for Broadway. Wattel would need a river ace for the chop, but it wasn't happening. Wattel will benefit from the first pay jump of the day, pocketing an extra $10K.

10 - Mike Wattel - $63,945
Play will resume in level 25. Blinds are getting big now; 50,000-100,000 with another 10,000 as an ante.
Here is a look at the chip counts:
Seat 1 - Olav Prinz Von Sachsen - 1,015,000 Seat 2 - Will Mietz - 2,430,000 Seat 3 - Osmin "Odie" Dardon - 2,160,000 Seat 4 - Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier - 2,230,000 Seat 5 - Joe Sebok - 3,230,000 Seat 6 - Nam Le - 800,000 Seat 7 - Adam "Roothlus" Levy - 1,300,000 Seat 8 - Nenad Medic - 2,100,000 Seat 10 - Michael DeMichele - 1,350,000
Saturday, 25th of October 2008 05:15 PM
Now that everyone is seated at the same table, play has tightened. Most of the time, you raise it, you're going to get shipped the pot.

| Odie Dardon with the lighthearted trip in the tank | |
There have been a couple pots of note. Odie Dardon checked a Q-J-8 flop over to Nam Le, who pushed in about 250K into a 500K pot. Michael DeMichele would then move in his last 850K or so and Dardon went into the tank, even getting up from his seat, grinning with excitement, before ultimately laying it down. Nam would think better of it as well and gave up the hand, leaving himself about 1 million. DeMichele is now hovering around 1.7 million
Nenad Medic took a big hit at the hands of Mike Wattel. "Serb" would call a reraise to 400K to see the K-K-x flop. Wattel moved in and Medic's hand went into the muck. Medic would pick up a few of those chips right back after taking a couple hundred K back from Joe Sebok.
There is no dominant chip leader at the table, which could explain the tight play. Odie is sitting behind about 2.5 million, which is the biggest stack at the table. Medic, Mietz and Sebok are right behind (~ 1.9 million each). Everyone else is at 1 million and up, meaning any double up will change the game.
Saturday, 25th of October 2008 04:20 PM
Play started in level 23 with 30,000-60,000 blinds and 5,000 antes. Jimmy Tran wasted little time getting the rest of his chips in the middle.

| Mietz bounces Tran (11th) | |
Bill Mietz came over the top of a Roothlus opening raise with a raise of his won to 430K. Tran was next to act and came over the top, making it about 700K total. Roothlus thought better of it, but Mietz held QQ and would make the call to see Tran table a couple of cowboys.
Tran looked poised to double through the former chip leader... that is until a queen fell in the window. Mietz picked up a set of ladies, and after the turn and river couldn't provide Tran any help, he will be our 11th place finisher.
Payout:
11 - Jimmy Tran - $53,290
And with that elimination, we are down to one, 10-handed final table. After a short break was used to consolodate, this is how they're set up:
Seat 1 - Olav Prinz Von Sachsen - 1.3 million Seat 2 - William Mietz - 1.8 million Seat 3 - Odie Dardon - 2.7 million Seat 4 - Bertrand Grospellier - 1.8 million Seat 5 - Joe Sebok - 2.2 million Seat 6 - Nam Le - 1.4 million Seat 7 - Adam Levy - 1.1 Million Seat 8 - Nenad Medic - 1.4 million Seat 9 - Mike Wattel - 1.1 million Seat 10 - Michael DeMichele - 1.4 million
Mike Wattel was able to double up once more, again through DeMichele, after each held second pair when the money went in, Wattel's ace kicker would play, moving him over 1 million.

|
| Mike Wattel and Andrew Robl (12th) | |
We're down to 11.
Payouts:
12 - Andrew Robl - $53,290
Robl has been has found himself seated with Joe Sebok for the last few days. The two traded some big pots on Day's 3 and 4, and after the last confrontation, the two are assured they won't tangle at the final table.
After Sebok left him with 400K and change, Robl looked down at J10 and shoved. Sebok would make the call with a dominating AJ. Sebok spiked an ace. Robl was looking for runner-runner to survive, but could only muster a pair of 10s.
Sebok, looking to make his first WPT TV final table, now has 2.4 million chips and the chip lead.
The action stayed at the same table as the new short stack, Mike Wattel, made a stand vs. Michael DeMichele. It was Wattel's 55 against DeMichele's K7. Niether player picked up anything after the board ran out, meaning Wattel's fives were enough to scoop and hang on.
The next eliminated player will miss out on a $10K pay jump.
Saturday, 25th of October 2008 02:00 PM
Players have returned from a 15-minute break. They're now sitting into level 22, 20,000-40,000 blinds and antes of 5,000.

|
|
|
|
| Adam "Roothlus" Levy | |
Here are the chip counts, as of break time:
Michael DeMichele - 2,260,000 Odie Dardon - 2,000,000 Joe Sebok - 1,900,000 Olav Prinz Von Sachsen - 1,723,000 William Mietz - 1,590,000 Nenad Medic - 1,550,000 Nam Le - 1,355,000 Bertrand Grospellier - 1,170,000 Adam Levy - 1,080,000 Jimmy Tran - 925,000 Mike Wattel - 545,000 Andrew Robl - 480,000
Adam "Roothlus" Levy doubled before break. After Nenad Medic raised UTG, Roothlus looked down at AQ in the BB and moved in. Medic made the call. He would maintain the lead after the K-x-x flop, only to watch Roothlus spike an ace on the turn. The river would brick, allowing Levy to double through to 1 million chips.
Andrew "good2cu" Robl has taken the short stack label from Roothlus. After dropping the big pot to DeMichele earlier, Robl was forced to lay down after a Sebok all in river shove, leaving Robl with less than 500K.
Saturday, 25th of October 2008 01:05 PM
We are about one hour into Day 5 and we're still looking at a dozen players. The scene is a little cramped as some double-booking has forced the final two tables out from the Fontana Bar and into the Bellagio's main poker room. Between the cameras, railbirds, cash game players and brave fans sneaking right up to the tables, there isn't much room to work with in there. Throw in a couple hundred screaming college football and horseracing fans in the neighboring sportsbook and the final 12 has some distractions to deal with on their way to the six-handed final table.

| Jimmy Tran doubles | |
A couple big hands have taken place. First it was Jimmy Tran moving all in after the turn on a 10 3 3 9 board. Bertrand Grospellier would make the call with A10, top pair-top kicker, looking to dodge all of Trans flush, straight and pair draws.
The dealer would send Tran out of his seat as he dropped the K river, completing Tran's K-high straight. Tran is up to 1 million, while "ElkY" dropped below 2 million and out of the cursed chip lead.
Michael DeMichele was able to get action on a big river bet from Andrew Robl. When the cards were turned, the 2008 $50K HORSE runner-up was able to show AQ (top pair-top kicker) to take a pot worth over 1 million. DeMichele is sitting behind no less than 2.5 million and looks to be the new chip leader.
