Still playing Razz.

Erick won a pot from Scotty with a bet on 6th. Not much else happened during Razz.

Game changed to Stud.

Erick folded to a bet from Scotty on fifth.

Erick completed, Scotty raised, Michael folded, and Erick called. Scotty bet on fourth and Erick called. Erick led on fifth and Scotty raised. Erick called all-in with his last chips. Erick held (A8) 8 7 K for a pair of 8s. Scotty held (98) 9 Q 2 for a pair of 9s. Sixth street brought Scotty a Jack and Erick a 4 – changing nothing. Erick would need to pair up to survive. River brought Scotty a King, so Erick needed an Ace, King, 8, 7, or 4 to survive. His river card was a 2, however, and he was busted.

Erick Lindgren finished in 3rd place, earning $781,440.

At the start of heads-up play, Scotty has 12.2 million chips. Michael has 2.6 million chips. That means Scotty has a 4.7-to-1 chip lead.

Game changed to Stud/8.

One hand went to showdown. Scotty showed Kings-up and took the pot.

Game changed to Hold’em.

It did not take long. Michael got his last 600k in with A 3 . Scotty called with A T . Board came A 9 6 7 4  and it is OVER!!!

Scotty Nguyen finished in 1st place, earning $1,989,120, his fifth career WSOP bracelet, and the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy.

Michael DeMichele finished in 2nd place, earning $1,243,200.

Game changed to Stud.

Erick completed, Michael called. Erick bet fourth; Michael called. On 5th, Michael made an open pair of 6s and bet. Erick called. Michael bet again on 6th showing 3 6 6 7. Erick called showing 8 4 K 7. Michael bet again on 7th, Erick raised, and Michael called, leaving 150k behind. Michael showed 653 for 6s full of 3s to take the pot and double up.

Game changed to Stud/8.

Scotty won four of the hands of Stud/8. Erick won three. Michael won one. None went to showdown.

Game changed to Hold’em.

The Hold’em round was a little more balanced Scotty and Erick each got three, leaving two for Michael.

The one hand that went to showdown: Michael raised on the button and Scotty called from the big. Flop was 9 6 2 . Scotty checked, Michael bet, Scotty raised, and Michael called. Turn was J . Scotty bet; Michael called. River was Q . Scott bet and Michael called. Scotty showed Q T  for a pair of Queens. Michael mucked.

Game changed to Omaha/8.

Scotty completed the small and Michael raised from the big. Scotty called. Flop was J 9 3 . Michael bet; Scotty called. Turn was 2 . Scotty bet and Michael called. River was T . Scotty bet and Michael mucked.

Scotty raised on the button and Michael re-raised. Scotty called and the flop came K 7 5. Michael bet; Scotty called. Turn was a 9. Michael bet; Scotty called. River was a 5. Michael bet and Scotty mucked.

Scotty and Michael went to the river and split the pot.

Game changed to Razz.

On fifth, showing 7 T 8, Erick bet. Michael was showing 8 6 Q and mucked. Erick picked up some much needed chips.

At the end of the level, players left for 20-minutes away from the grind.

Erick and Scotty went to showdown and split a pot.

Game changed to Hold’em.

Scotty raised from the small and Michael re-raised from the big. Scotty called and the flop was Q 3 2. Scotty checked, Michael bet, and Scotty called. Turn was a 7. Same action. River was an 8. Scotty fired and Michael raised. Scotty called, showing KQ for top pair. Michael showed A8. Scotty took the pot.

Game changed to Omaha/8.

Scotty raised on the button. Michael re-raised from the small. Scotty called to see the flop of 9 7 2. Michael bet; Scotty called. Turn was a 5. Michael bet; Scotty called. River was a 5. Michael bet, Scotty raised, and Michael called. Scotty showed A863 for the straight to the 9 and nut low to scoop.

Michael raised on the button and Erick re-raised from the small. Michael called. Flop was 9s4h3h. Erick checked, Michael bet, and Erick called. Turn was the 8s. Erick completed the small and Scotty raised from the big. Erick called. Flop was A Q 5 . Erick checked, Scotty bet, and Erick called. Turn was the 2 . Erick bet and Scotty called. River was the 8 . Erick bet, Scotty called. Erick showed A 6 for the nut flush to take the pot. Scotty showed AJ.

Erick won 6 of the 8 Hold’em hands and has re-built his stack to ~4 million.

Game changed to Omaha/8.

Scotty and Erick went to the river with Scotty firing and Erick calling. The board showed A J 6 3 8. Scotty showed AJ85 for Aces-up and an 86 low to scoop.

All three paid two small bets to see the flop, then checked down the board of J T 4 Q K. Scotty showed K 9 4 2 for the king-high straight to scoop.

Michael raised from the small and Erick called from the big. Flop was A K 8 . Michael bet and Erick called. Turn was the A . Both checked. River was the Q . Michael checked, Erick bet, and Michael called. Erick showed AJJ 9 for the nut flush to scoop.

Michael raised from the button and Scotty called from the big. Flop was K T 5. Scotty checked, Michael bet, Scotty raised, and Michael called. Turn was a 6 and Scotty bet. Michael raised and Scotty called. River was a Jack. Both checked and Scotty showed KJ52 for Kings-up. Michael mucked.

Not a single hand of Razz went to showdown. Scotty won the majority of them.

Not a single hand of Stud went to showdown. Erick and Michael each won 3. Scotty won 2.

Michael completed and Erick raised. Michael called and both checked 4th. Erick bet 5th when he made an open pair of 5s; Michael called. Michael made an open pair of 7s on sixth and bet. Erick raised and Michael called. Erick was showing 5 T 5 A; Michael was showing 7 K 6 7. Erick bet the river and Michael called Erick showed Aces full to scoop.

Scotty complete, Michael and Erick called. Michael bet on 4th and Erick and Scotty called. Erick bet 5th, Scotty raised, Michael called, as did Erick. Erick made an open pair of 4s on sixth and fired. Scotty folded, Michael raised, and Erick called. Michael bet on the river showing 8 6 J 7 . Erick called showing 8 4 3 4. Michael showed a flush and scooped.

After the break, play resumed with Level 26: Hold'em & Omaha/8 Blinds 60k/120k Limits 120k/240k; Razz, Stud, Stud/8: Ante 30k, Bring-in 30k, Limits 120k/240k.

Game changed to Razz.

Not a single hand of Razz went to showdown. On hand between Erick and Scotty went to the river, where Erick folded.

Game changed to Stud.

Michael completed, Scotty called. Scotty check-raised on 4th and Michael called. Scotty led on 5th; Michael called. Michael led on 6th and Scotty called. Michael was showing T Q 6 Q and Scotty was showing 3 A K 2 with three diamonds. Michael checked the river, Scotty bet and Michael called, showing a third Queen. Scotty mucked.

Game changed to Stud/8.

Erick Lindgren got his last chips in the pot against Scotty on 6th. They opened their hands and Erick was ahead with a pair of 5s with AJT8 (no low possible). Scotty had QJ9542 with four diamonds (no low draw). Scotty needed a diamond, Q J, or 9 to bust Erick, if Erick’s hand doesn’t improve on the river. Scotty caught an offsuit King and Erick doubled up without looking at his river card.

Erick raised from the small and Scotty called from the big. Flop came A Q 5. Erick bet; Scotty called. Turn was a 9. Erick bet; Scotty called. River was a King. Erick bet; Scotty called. Erick showed AK for top two and Scotty mucked.

Michael fired and Scotty called the whole way. Scotty’s board showed 6 Q T 9. Michael’s board was 6 2 Q 7. Michael showed 95x for a 97 low to take the pot.

Game changed to Stud.

Erick and Scotty contested a pot to 6th street, where Scotty had an open pair of Kings. He bet, Erick folded.

In a later pot, when Michael paired on 6th and bet, Erick folded.

Scotty completed and Michael called. Michael bet 4th and Scotty called, then lead out on 5th. Michael called, but folded when Scotty fired again on 6th. Scotty showed pocket Aces.

Scotty and Erick went to the river. Scotty showed a pair of Aces in the hole for high. Erick had an 85 low and they split the pot.

Erick completed, Scotty raised, and Erick called. Erick check-called on 4th, then fired away on 5th and 6th. Scotty raised and Erick called. Scotty led on the river showing 6 2 Q K. Erick called showing K 7 9 4. Scotty showed pocket Aces, but Erick held K7x for Kings-up to take the pot.

Michael completed, Matt raised, and Michael called. They traded the lead and call through fifth. On sixth, Matt bet, showing 5 9 K Q . Michael was showing K 4 8 7 and tanked for a bit, then mucked.

Erick had the bring-in and Matt, Scotty, and Michael all called. Matt fired on fourth showing K K. Only Michael called, showing 7 6 . Matt fired again on fifth and sixth with Michael calling. At the river, Matt was showing K K 5 9 to Michael’s 7 6 4 T. Both checked. Matt rolled over AAQ for Aces-up and Michael mucked. Matt took another pot.

Scotty completed, Michael raised, and Scotty called. On 4th, Scotty check-called. On 5th, Scotty check-raised and Michael called. Both checked 6th. Scotty’s board was K 3 9 7. Michael’s board was 4 6 2 A. Scotty fired on the river and Michael tanked. He eventually called and Scotty showed QJT for a straight to win the pot.

On a flop of Q 6 5 Matt got his last chips in against Scotty. Matt held K J T T for a pair of Tens. Scotty held A K 7 2 for the nut low draw. The turn was the A giving Scotty the lead with a pair of Aces, and giving him a flush draw. Matt picked up a straight wrap, needed a King, Jack, or Ten that was not a club. The river was the 5 giving Scotty the flush.

Matt Glantz finished in 4th place, earning $568,320.

Play resumed after dinner at 9:30pm with time remaining in Level 24: Hold'em & Omaha/8 Blinds 40k/80k Limits 80k/160k; Razz, Stud, Stud/8: Ante 20k, Bring-in 20k, Limits 80k/160k.

Game changed to Razz.

Lyle completed and Scotty raised; Lyle called. Scotty fired again on fourth and fifth with Lyle calling. On 6th, Scotty was showing 7 A K 4 and checked. Lyle was showing 5 8 5 A and he bet. Scotty raised. Lyle folded and Scotty took the pot.

Scotty completed, Michael raised, and Scotty called. Scotty check-raised on fourth and got called. Scotty lead out on fifth showing A 2 3. Michael, who showed 6 7 J, folded.

Lyle completed and Scotty called. Michael raised and Lyle hit it again. Scotty re-raised and Michael capped. Lyle called and was all-in. Scotty called. Michael fired the next three streets and Scotty called. Their cards were

Michael: 3 4 5 8
Both checked the river. Michael showed 972 for a 75 low to scoop both the side and main pots.

Lyle Berman finished in 5th place, earning $444,000.

Play resumed with Level 24: Hold'em & Omaha/8 Blinds 40k/80k Limits 80k/160k; Razz, Stud, Stud/8: Ante 20k, Bring-in 20k, Limits 80k/160k.

Stud/8: Erick and Lyle went to the river where Lyle bet and Erick called. Lyle showed a flush to scoop.

Scotty completed and Barry called, the led the betting all the way to the river with Scotty calling. Barry’s last chips went in on 7th. Barry was showing 4 A A T to Scotty’s 7 3 4 K. Barry showed Aces up, but Scotty had 776 in the hole to make trip 7s and take the pot.

Barry Greenstein finished in 6th place, earning $355,200.

Michael and Lyle went to the river where Lyle folded to Michael’s bet.

Game changed to Hold’em.

Erick raised utg and Michael called from the big blind. Flop was T 7 2. Michael check-called Erick’s bet. Turn was a King. Michael checked, Erick bet, Michael check-raised, and Erick called. River was another 2. Michael bet, Erick called, showing A9 for Ace-high. Michael mucked and Erick dragged the pot.

Game changed to Omaha/8.

Erick and Lyle went to showdown and split the pot.

Erick raised one off the button, Matt called on the button, and Scotty called from the big blind. Flop came K 9 4 . Scotty checked, Erick bet, Matt called, and Scotty called. Turn was the 3 . Checked to Matt, who bet. Scotty raised, Erick thought for a bit, then called. Matt called and they saw the 6  hit the river. Scotty bet, Erick called, and after a bit of thought, Matt made the call as well. Scotty showed AK52 for the nut low and straight to the 6 to scoop the huge pot.

Michael bet and Lyle called to the river as the board came Q 9 6 3 4. Lyle’s A743 (two pair, 76 low) was not good enough to beat Michael’s KQ52 (straight to the 6, 65 low) and Michael scooped the pot.

Lyle then called Erick to the river, where both checked. Board was J 7 5 T J and Erick showed AAQT for Aces-up. Lyle mucked and Erick dragged the pot.

Erick, Matt, and Michael went to the turn with a board of 6 6 2 2. Matt bowed out on the turn. River was an Ace. Erick bet, Michael raised, and Eric called. Michael showed 7643 for trip 6s and nut low to scoop.

Players were sent on a 90-minute dinner break. Play will resume at 9:30pm.

Game changed to Stud.

Michael completed, Lyle raised, and Michael called. These two traded bets to the river, where Michael was showing 9 6 4 5 and Lyle was showing 9 4 3 Q. Lyle checked, Michael bet, and Lyle folded. No showdown.

A few hands later, Lyle folded to a bet from Barry on 5th street.

Huck and Erick went to the river. Huck was showing 6 T 9 J; Erick showed K Q J 8. Erick was firing the whole way, including on the river. Huck was calling the whole way, then folded on the river. No showdown.

Game changed to Stud/8.

Huck completed and Michael called. They traded bets until Huck was all in on the river, showing 8 9 9 Q. Michael was showing 3 2 5 6. Michael showed three suited cards to make a flush and Huck mucked his hand.

Huckleberry Seed finished in 7th place, earning $284,160.

At the end of the level, players went on a 20-minute break.

Game changed to Omaha/8: Scotty raised, Erick called, and Lyle called from the big blind. Flop was Ts9s7d. Lyle checked, Scotty bet, Erick called, Lyle folded. Turn was a Queen. Both checked. River was a Ten and both checked. Scotty showed AKJ6 for the straight and Erick mucked.

Erick limped utg and Michael checked his option. Flop came A 9 8. Michael checked, Erick bet, and Michael called. Turn was a Ten and both checked. River was a Jack and Michael bet. Erick called, showing AAQ2 for top set. Michael mucked.

Erick and Matt went to showdown and split a pot.

Game changed to Razz.


Razz: Patrick got his last chips in against Erick Lindgren on third. Patrick showed 4 K A to Erick’s 8 7 2. When the cards ran out, Patrick’s A J 4 had him drawing dead on sixth to Erick’s T K 3.

Patrick Bueno finished in 8th place, earning $230,880.

Barry and Michael went to the river and Michael showed a 65432 to win the pot from Barry.

Barry and Michael tangled again and showing 6 5 Q 9, Barry fired on 6th street and Michael, showing 8 T A Q, folded.

The level came to an end without any further fireworks -- end of level 22 and players took a 20-minute break.

Cards finally got in the air about 3:45. Play resumed with Level 22: Hold'em & Omaha/8 Blinds 25k/50k Limits 50k/100k; Razz, Stud, Stud/8: Ante 10k, Bring-in 15k, Limits 50k/100k.

Omaha/8: Patrick raised from the button and Lyle called from the small blind. On the 9 6 5  flop, Lyle check-called Patrick’s bet. Turn was the 5  and both checked. River was the Q . Lyle bet, Patrick raised, Lyle hit it again, and Patrick called. Lyle showed 99xx for 9s-full to scoop the pot.


Day four of the $50,000 HORSE event resumed at 3pm Saturday. Eight had to leave without getting paid, including Chad Brown, Gabe Kaplan, and Michael Mizrachi. Doyle Brunson was the first to cash out, finishing 16th. Daniel Negreanu finished 13th. Phil Ivey finished 12th. Final table action gets underway at 3 p.m. PDT Sunday. Erick Lindgren leads with 3.68 million. Scotty Nguyen is second with 3.535 million.
