Just like that, it's over.
Yamachika was the first to get in the champs way.
Lacourse raised to 200K. Yamachika made it 610K and Lacouse called. Lacourse's A-Q was out in front of the K-J of Yamachika. Lacourse would pick up top pair on the scary Q-J-10 flop. Yamachika would need a jack or ace to show, but had to watch an 8 and 4 brick off.
Jerry Yamachika is done in 4th-place, earning $131,194.
Fluss-tered.
Both Lacourse and Marc Fluss saw a cheap flop from the blinds. 6-5-3 on the flop and Lacourse bets 160K. Fluss comes over the top for almost 800K and Lacourse would call.
Fluss shows 6-10, having flopped top pair. Lacourse tabled Q-4, looking for a lady or a straight. The 8 on the turn was no help, but the 2 on the river gave Lacourse the straight and set the table for heads-up.
Marc Fluss bounced in 3rd Place, but will take home $156,424.
In a matter of minutes, heads-up was over.
Eberle made it 180K and Lacourse would call. The flop comes K 9 9 and Lacourse check-calls 200K from Eberle. The turn brings a harmless 2 . Lacouse then check-raises a 500K bet from Eberle and is all in. Eberly makes the call with the rest of his stack.
Lacourse - 9 7 Eberle - K 4
River - 8
Lacourse's trip nines hold up.
Dale Eberle will get $131,194 as runner-up.
Dan Lacourse is the Seniors Event champion. Lacourse conquered a record-setting field of 2,218 players and will take $368,832 back with him to Toledo, Ohio.

Wood floored.
Action folded to Yamachika on the button. He made it 100K to roll. Marc Fluss and Charles Wood made the call from the blinds. The flop was checked, but Wood moved in after the turn with 3-8-10-3 on the board. Yamachika folded, but Fluss would call.
Wood turned over K-6, which got a cheer from Fluss, who showed K-10. Wood was drawing dead and Fluss knew it. A king fell on the river, but it didn't matter.
Charles Wood is out in 6th-place, good for a payday of $84,771.
On the next hand, Fluss would showe aces after a big raise from the button.
Not long after, it was Bergers turn.
Berger found himself all in with deuces and called by the jacks of Lacourse. Berger would gather his things and start his handshakes after the J-4-8 flop. Berger couldn't top the set of jacks, now we're five-handed.
Fred Berger is gone in 5th-place, worth $106,974 at the payouts desk.
Chip counts:
Dan Lacourse - 2,520,000 Dale Eberle - 1,990,000 Marc Fluss - 1,070,000 Jerry Yamachika - 950,000

Berger hangs on.
First, it was Eberle's A K flush on 8 8 2 10 6 board vs. Berger, delivering a hit to his stack.
Then it looked like it was over. Berger all in with A-9 vs. Eberle's A-10. Handshakes would be exchanged as Berger thought the K-8-3-8-Q board meant he was eliminated. What the players were slow to realize is that the pot would be chopped and Berger could stay a while longer.
Berger would then choose to tangle with somebody other than Eberle. Unfortunately, for Peter Silverstein, it was him.
Silverstein shoved all in preflop and Berger made the call. Berger showed J-10, trailing the A-6 of Silverstein, who had him outchipped. After the board ran out 7-6-K-J-2, Berger turned a pair of jacks, doubling up at the expense of a now crippled Silverstein.
Silverstein was down to 35K, with blinds at 20K/40K. He would run with his 2-4, at risk vs. Dan Lacourse, who raised holding A-Q to give him protection. Silverstein found a pair on the 6-4-10 flop. Lacourse picked up a lot of outs after the turn brought a K. Silverstein was looking to dodge an ace, queen or jack on the river, but couldn't. Lacourse found a jack, making Broadway and ending Silverstein's final table experience.
Peter Silverstein is eliminated in 7th-place, worth $64,588.

Yamachika doubles.
Charles Wood led out for 125K from UTG. Yamachika had a little over 500K and would move all in. Wood got a little excited and called out of turn. Marc Fluss, after being skipped, would tank, before folding. Wood was then allowed to make the call.
It was Wood's 10-10 trailing the J-J of Yamachika. The K-4-8-4-3 board changed nothing, allowing Yamachika to double through.
It was then Wood's turn to double.
Dan Lacourse reraised to 160K. Wood called off his last 120K and Dale Eberle, the original raiser, got out of the way.
Wood tabled K-10, racing with the 9-9 of Lacourse. By the turn, A-5-Q-Q was on the board and Wood was looking for any big card. That card would come on the river in the form of a K, giving Wood kings and queens, along with a double up.
Seven-handed.
Action folds to the button and Marc Fluss makes it 150K. Ed Clark would move all in from the BB and Fluss would insta-call.
Fluss showed 9-9, ahead of Clark's A-7. Fluss would improve to nines full on the Q-5-Q-J-9 board, sending Clark to his bust out interview.
Ed Clark takes home $49,450 for finishing in 8th-place.
Players are now on a 20-minute break and the 1K chips are being colored up.
Chip counts:
Dale Eberle - 1,460,000 Dan Lacourse - 1,442,000 Marc Fluss - 1,150,000 Jerry Yamachika - 1,074,000 Fred Berger - 800,000 Peter Silverstein - 400,000 Charles Wood - 356,000
Wednesday, 25th of June 2008 03:00 PM Play got underway with Level 21: Ante 3k, Blinds 12k/24k. Only four minutes remain at this level. "Raise and take it" was the order of business early on. Play continued into Level 22: Ante 4k, Blinds 15k/30k. Dale raised to 90k, then Marc min-raised to 180k. Dale made the call and we got to see the first flop of the day! T 6 3 rainbow. Marc checked, Dale fired 200k, and Marc let it go. Fred raised to 90k, then Marty shoved for 439k. Fred tanked for a long time, then finally decided to commit most of his chips, showing AQ offsuit. Marty held pocket 8s and it was race time! It was a short race as the flop came K Q Q giving Fred a huge lead. Marty was dead to one of two 8s, which did not appear. Fred took the pot and Marty took the walk. Marty Wilson finished in 9th place, earning $34,312.
The seniors played long into the night to determine the final nine, and the stalwart men who made it prove that age is just a number. Tom McEvoy, Men "The Master" Nguyen, and "Captain" Tom Franklin were all eliminated as the night wore on, making way for some new colorful characters. Who will take home the gold and the title of Senior World Champion? The final table begins at 2 p.m. PDT.
