Final table $1500 + $70 - COMPLETE

by Sharla Lehrmann

Men "The Master" Nguyen takes down another WSOP Circuit win, another gold ring and $41,380.

Men jumped up into Michael Cravatts arms when he won. Michael towers over Men by two feet!

Men “The Master” Nguyen, from Bell Gardens California is no stranger to final tables. In fact, this is his third during this WSOP Circuit. I don’t have enough time in the day to tell you of all his accomplishments. Suffice it to say, he is indeed a poker icon.

We have another mental battle going on. Men has pushed all in after the flop and turn. The flop came the 9c Kc Kh with the turn being the 4s. Doug is in quite a quandary now. He has no idea what to do after the last go round. Oh my. This time Doug does call and immediately, if not sooner, Men slams his big slick down on the table and screams OVER>>>>>>ITS OVER BAAAAAAAAAAAABY! Doug shows the T 9. The river brings a 4d to make a boat and Men takes it down. He and Doug shake hands. Doug Carli out in 2nd for $22,989.

Living in Alliance Ohio, Douglas Carli is a retired stockbroker. He has been playing poker for 35 years. He has placed 396th in the main event of the WSOP this year for $18,355. He also took a 3rd in the $1000 NLHE event this year at the WSOP making $70,690. In the $2000 event at the 2005 WSOP (wow Doug, you had a good run!) he made 43rd for $5,720.

Robert moves all in from the big blind, Men calls and Doug does too. Folks...we have liftoff! Doug still has chips. The flop comes the 9s 3d Jc. checked. Turn is the Jd. River is the 6h. Doug shows a pair of nines and Robert a Q 8. Men mucks and Robert Dreyfuss leaves today in 3rd for $12,644. Well played Robert!

Robert Dreyfuss is in the banking industry in Carrollton Texas. He has been playing poker for over 30 years and says Dallas “Diamond” Wottlin is his mentor for poker (tongue in cheek...I believe they are best friends!). He played in the WPO in 2002 and came in 4th for $81K.

Men is UTG this time. He raises to 6K. Doug folds and Robert follows Doug. I think Men has put the fear in these guys now with his rhetoric and aggression. It is a battle for second and Men has full command of the table.

Doug raises to 4500 on the button. Robert folds and Men shows Robert the Ad and folds. Surprised Doug didnt aske to see it.

On the button, Doug raises to 8K. Men says, "6K more???, thats cheap baby, Im all in...all you can eat baby...all you can eat!" Doug says "you know if I win Ill be in good position". Men says "you might." Men says "if you call, this hand is over babbbbbby! and then goes on to say " why am I copying Scotty babbbbby?" Ut oh, Doug said something less than flattering and Men replied "oh you dont like my personality. OK. Ill zip my lips". Hahahaha......Doug says, "it might just be the beginning, ever think of that" and Scotty repeats...."if you call, this hand is over baaaaaaabbby!. Men leans over to Robert and says, " Ill bust him and you and I will have more fun anyway". Doug folds, and Men stands up and says " I want to see it...and Doug shows the AK, Men turns his over and shows the exact thing.... AK. Men says " Chicken shit "!!! Doug keeps his composure. Too bad ESPN isnt here today!

Men raises to 6K from the button. Robert calls. Flop comes the Qs 2c 2s. Robert checks and Men bets 5K and Robert folds.

Up to Robert to act first on the button. He says "all in (for 10,600(". Men calls. Doug folds. Men shows the Qh 4h and Robert the 6c 4c. Robert requests the 6d and sure as he did, the flop comes the 6d Kd 5s. Robert is ahead with the pair of sixes. The turn comes the Jc. The river comes the 9h and Robert doubles up this trip.

Doug raises from the button. Robert and Men both fold and Doug takes the pot.

Doug raises from the small blind after Men folded the button. Robert folds.

Look at the activity behind the final table. No one is here. There are super sats going on and so far, we have 11 signed up for tomorrow's Main event. Goodness. Read into that what you wish.

Robert calls Mens 4K bet from the small blind. The flop comes 7h 3c Ah. Robert checks to Men. Check. Turn comes the Th. Checked. River is the 2s. Robert checks and Men throughs 5K at the pot and Robert calls. Men shows the Ad 4c and Robert mucks.

Robert has the button and acts first. He folds, Men calls from the small and Doug checks. Flop comes the 4s 9d 9h. Men checks, Doug bets and takes another one.

Doug is UTG. He limps in for 2K. Robert folds and Men checks his option. Flop comes the 8s 5d 6s. Checked. Turn is the Js. Men checks, Doug bets 5K and takes a pot. wooo hooo!!

Men is UTG. First to act. He raises to 5K. Doug folds and Robert calls. Flop comes 9h As 9c. Robert checks to Men and he bets 4K. Robert folds, pot 2 for Men.

Men takes the first hand. S U R P R I S E !!!

Not that I am happy, but, we just lost our 4th place player. Ron raises all in from the small blind and Robert says "I dont know what I couldnt call with" and calls turning over pocket rockets. Ron shows the Qc Tc. The flop came the 5s Jc Ts. Ron catches a little help, but not enough. The turn and river come the 2h and 8s keeping the AA sound and taking Ron "Carolina Express" Stanley out in 4th for $9,196.

Ron Stanley lives here in Las Vegas, Nevada. His nickname is “Carolina Express” and he is a professional poker player. He has been playing for over 35 years and came in 4th in the 1997 WSOP main event and won the $2500 event in 1991 for $203K. He also seems to cash in the Bellagio weekly events quite regularly

Men tried to make it interesting by betting in the dark preflop. The flop came a 6d 3h Qs and with the blind bet, Doug reraises to 16K. Men says "good raise sir" and turns over pocket two giving Doug the pot. Men is really working on these 3 players with his constant chatter now.

Hand after hand Men raises and takes the pot. Putting each player on the defense as he slowly chips away at their stacks. He looks extra sharp today as he is wearing a really pretty white Vietnamese dress shirt.

On the button, Ron raises to 6000 more. Men, in the big blind takes a swig of corona, and calls. The flop comes the 6d 7d 8c. Men bets 7K and Ron thinks for a bit and folds his hand face up with an As Qs.

Robert just gets crazy as the hands are folded around to him on the big blind and he throws his cards over seeing them for the first time and stares directly at two aces. He jumped up and and declared..."its the first time Ive seen them today!!!" Bless his heart. Oh well, would have been cracked anyway. they were due!

Ron Stanley - 15K
Robert Dreyfuss - 35K
Men Nguyen - 130K
Doug Carli - 25K

Ron is put on the spot as he raises to 4500 from the small blind and Robert then reraises all in from the big blind. Ron had to let his hand go and sighs.

Round and round the blinds and antes go. The flavor of the game has changed a bit and now we are doing the usual Button stealing.

Men raises from the button to 4500 and takes the blinds and antes. These guys are just slowly oozing their chips away in the blinds and antes.

This time he does the same to Robert. Just hammering them over and over with bet after bet, forcing them to make a possible devestating call or lay down their hand.

Doug and Men go head to head for a bit, and Men takes another 10K off of Doug. Men is getting very aggressive now as he "looks to the left and to the right" to see he has more than half the chips on the table.

Updated Chip Count

Ron Stanley - 19K
Robert Dreyfuss - 31K
Men Nguyen - 110K
Doug Carli - 40K

Cards in the air.

Players take a 15 minute break and upon their return they will go up another level to 200 antes and 500 / 1000 blinds.

Men says he wants to go home and wants to get this over with quickly. hahahha....

Robert is UTG and raises, called by Ron in the big blind. The flop comes the Tc 9s 5s. Robert checks and Ron bets 4K. Robert check raises and comes over the top or an all in with 9200 more. After a long wait, Ron says he is going to gamble and calls. Ron shows the Kc Qs and Robert the Kh Jd. The turn come an 8s giving Robert a gutshot draw for a straight and sure enough, the 7h hits the river and doubles Robert back into the game.

Men is busy harrassing Michael Cravatt, the tournament host for revealing his "tells". In the last hand, when Men went to bet, Michael said "Men looks to the left and then to the right and then bets 4500". Men has not stopped giving him grief yet.

In a threeway pot between Robert, Men and Doug we see a flop of 6s Kd 5c. Men, in the small blind bets 4500 and both the others run. Men continues to grow his giant stack of chips.

Casper Hansen bet 21K after the flop of 877, and Doug raised all in to 27K getting a call by Casper for his remaining few chips. Doug turns over the Ad7d and Casper Qh 8h. The turn and river were uneventful and Doug takes the pot with three sevens and removes Casper Hansen from the tournament in 5th for $8,046.

Casper Hansen is from Horsens Denmark and looks like a poster child for them. He is tall, blue eyed, young and oh my…. He is a professional poker player by choice, admires Gus Hansen but wants us to know he is NOT related to him. He came in 2nd in Denmarks biggest NLHE tournament so far. He enjoys soccer when outdoors.

Doug raises only 3300 this time and is reraised by Allen to all in. Doug calls. Allen has 77 and Doug the Ah Kh. The flop comes the Qh 3c Js. Doug has a straight draw. The Kc comes giving Doug top pair and when a Jh hits the river it takes Allen Kessler out with the pair of sevens giving him 6th for $6,897.

Allen Kessler lives in Huntingdon Valley, PA. He is in marketing for a living. During his 5 years of playing poker, he says he is most influenced by Phil Ivey. He enjoys all kinds of casino gaming and backgammon as well. Allen came in 2nd for Omaha Hi/Lo in the WSOP this year and has already made 6 final tables in events this year alone.

Doug is all in. Casper calls. Doug shows TT and Casper the 99. Ah 7c 4s Ac 2c on the board doubles Douglas again. He has been steadily increasing with his aggression. Will it hold up?

Doug pushes all in again, this time on the button. The big blind folds his 83 and Doug increases his stack.

Doug raises all in for the 3rd time running. He doubled up again against Ron Stanley in the last hand. He has 6500 more to get the raise in the pot this time and Men is really thinking about calling. He calls for time and says, "I have a really small hand." After a sip from his corona, he lays it down giving Doug the pot.

The next hand Allen is in the big blind and after the flop of 7d Td 6s, Douglas Carli pushes all in and Allen calls. Allen shows the 68 and spikes a 9 on the river for a straight doubling himself up.

Ron Stanley moves all in, it is checked around to Allen Kessler and he calls. Ron flips over another pair of Aces and Allen the Ad Kd. The board brought nothing for Allen, 3d 6c 8s 9h 4d taking Ron to a double up and absolutely crippling Allen Kessler.

I am beginning to see some bigger names roaming around today. With the main event beginning tomorrow, a few more are trickling in. David Levy is smiling his gorgeous smile right behind me,
