2008 World Series of Poker - Event #6 - $1,500 Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better - Final Table
Thursday, 05th of June 2008 12:00 AM
Thang Luu puts in a preflop raise and Lawrence chooses to see the flop. K 8 7 on the board and Lawrence check-raises. More raises would follow and eventually, Lawrence had the rest of his chips in the middle.
After the cards were turned, it was Lawrence's 6 5 9 5 against the 4 K 3 7 of Luu. The 8 on the turn and K on the river would improve Luu to a boat, more than enough to grab the pot and the championship.

A short-stacked James Pritchard pushed the last of this stack in with 6 4 5 10 . Thang Luu made the call from the BB with K Q 2 9 . When the dealer was done, the board read J 4 J K 7 . Luu would pick up a pair of cowboys, which was enough to bounce pritchard.
James Pritchard has been eliminated in fourth-place.
Soon after, George Guzman was all in against Spencer Lawrence. Guzman's tournament life rested on K 7 Q 9 . Lawrence was hoping his A A Q 9 would clear the way for heads-up play. The board ran out 3 3 4 A 6 and a turned full house by Lawrence meant we're set for heads-up play.
George Guzman is out in third-place.
The two remaining players are now returning from a short break. There has been a color up, adding the 25K chips to the mix. Chip wise, the players are in a dead heat.

Greg Jamison was all in in the big blind. He had three callers. The action was checked down to the river. Board: George Guzman showed for a set of sixes and a eight low. Spencer Lawrence showed for a set of tens. Jamison showed and headed off to receive his payout.
Greg Jamison was sitting in the big blind, all of his chips already committed. Three players would join the attempt to knock out another player. Action was checked down and the following hands were revealed.
Jamison: K-K-9-5 Guzman: 4-8-6-6 Lawrence: 10-10-K-2
Board: 3-A-6-10-Q
Guzman's 8 low was enough to snag half the pot. Lawrence's set of tens took the high. Jamison took a walk to the payouts desk.
Greg Jamison eliminated in 6th place.
Not long after, we had another one fall.
Chris Falconer sat in the cutoff, sitting behind about 75K in chips. He would raise it up, moving in the rest of his stack. Thang Luu and George Guzman both called from the SB and BB, respectively. The two checked down the 9-10-5-A-5 board. Falconer would show As2cKsKc, but miss out on the pot after Luu tabled 2d7dJd6c, having found a runner-runner diamond flush.
Chris Falconer has finished in 5th Place.

Players have just returned from a 20 minute break. Many were expecting a dinner break, but didn't get it. The dinner break topic will be revisited in two levels.
After the break, a crippled Craig Sabel sat in the BB, all in for his last couple chips. Two players made the call. Both players checked the 4s5hKc flop, then Spencer Lawrence isolated Sabel by forcing Guzman out of the pot after the Qh turned. Sabel tabled Ad6sQsJd and Lawrence showed QcQd6h4d, having turned a set of queens. After the river paired the 4, Lawrence had filled up, eliminating Craig Sabel in 7th place.

After hanging onto a short stack for the last couple levels, Mark Wilds' wild Event 6 run is over.
Wilds was down to his last 10K, sitting in the SB. Luu would call from the button and George Guzman checked the option. Q 7 10 on the flop earned a check from both players. After the 7 fell on 4th street, Guzman put in a bet of 60K, forcing Luu out of the way.
Wilds: J 9 4 2 Guzman: J 9 A 7
After the A rivered, Guzman had improved to a full house and Wilds was shown the way to the payouts line.
Mark Wilds is out in 8th place.

While we haven't seen a lot of scoops, we have seen a couple players get quartered recently.
First it was Thang Luu taking three-quarters of a huge pot away from Mark Wilds.
With A 5 3 4 2 board and a ton of pink 1K chips in the pot, Wilds revealed A 2 5 4 while Luu turned over A K 3 J .
Both players held a wheel and a chopped the nut low, but Luu was able to find a spade flush to take the high as well. Luu is approaching 750K, while Wilds is the short stack, hovering around 100K.
Not long after, James Pritchard would get in on the act, taking his chips from Craig Sable.
Sabel called a Pritchard raise to see a 3 J 5 flop. Sabel would call a flop bet, as well as a bet after the 10s turned. The river came the 6h and Sabel committed the last couple chips in front of him. Pritchards' A 2 J 10 was good for not only the nut low, but also top two. Sabel could only table A K 2 9 , which earned him a chop of the nut low.

Tournament officials are conducting a color up to take the 1K yellow chips out of play. This will be followed by a 20 minute break.
Before the break, the biggest name at the table was given the boot.
Not long after Clements was crippled by Mark Wilds, who had turned broadway, leaving "BigRiskky" with just 30K, Clements found himself all in.
Now down to just 12K, Clements got it in preflop, while Pritchard and Luu checked down the Jc9dJd2h8h board. Pritchard would turn over JsQcKh2c, good for the full house. Clements would flash his A-A before mucking his hand.
9th place - Scott Clements
Play will resume at approx. 6:10 pm.

While the ESPN arena is jumping with the NLHE Rebuy final table, another group of nine is battling for a bracelet just around the corner. No lights. No crowd. Just poker.
Action is underway at the Event 6, $1,500 Omaha 8-or Better, final table. Now that fans are realizing jewerly is up for grabs, the railbirds are beggining to gather.

That may change, as the most dangerous name at the table has already taken a couple of big hits.
First, Clements was involved in a four-way pot, which saw chips go to George Guzman, Mark Wilds and Craig Sabel, but none to "BigRiskky". Then Clements was forced to lay down in the middle of a big pot with Wilds.
