Still no fireworks as things continue to grind at the single table. No big all-ins (that were called) so no big double-ups. David Tran continues to accumulate chips. With the blinds and antes so high, there is 75k in the pot before any action, so stealing yields a huge payoff. David has built his stack to over 4 million, more that a quarter of all the chips in play.
Wednesday, 30th of January 2008 04:25 PM
Once against things have settled into the "Flop-Free Zone" where everyone folds to a raise or re-raise pre-flop. Of course no one wants to bust out this close to the TV table of six, but they have to keep playing today until four more players are busted.
Wednesday, 30th of January 2008 04:03 PM

The first 16 players got out of here like the room was on fire, but now that they are down to 11 players, things have slowed down considerably. It has been almost an hour since the last bust-out. Now very few hands are going to showdown. Gavin Griffin, Justin Bonomo, and David Tran are taking more than their fair share of pots, using their big stacks to push the others around. David is still out in front with about 3.6 million chips. Justin has about 2.8 and Gavin has about 1.7 million.
Wednesday, 30th of January 2008 02:33 PM
On a flop of K J 6 , John got all in against Justin Bonomo. John's K 3 (top pair) was crushed by Justin's K J (top two pair) and he was left looking for perfect-perfect. Last two cards were imperfect-imperfect 9 T and John was done.

On a flop of T 6 6, Shane LaBounty moved in for 175k. Nam Le made the call, showing JT for top pair and the lead. Shane held KJ - just two overcards, one of which was not live. He would need help to survive and it came on the river. Last two cards were 5 K and Shane made the bigger pair to double up, leaving Nam with less than 100k.
Shortly after, Nam got his chips in with AQ, only to get called by monster stack David Tran holding pocket 7s. No help for Nam on the board and he was busted.
