Main Event - Final Table
Friday, 31st of August 2007 01:38 AM On a flop of 4-5-10, Dan Harrington fires out 400k and David Pham instantly calls. The turn was an A and Dan fires out 1 million. Pham insta-calls and turns over the 7-5 for the pair, while Dan has David drawing stone dead with the 10-5. David Pham sinks down in his chair and tosses out his chips in retreat and the river card is meaningless as Dan Harrington is our champion earning his $25k seat to the championship and the $1.6 million payday.

David Pham finishes the day in second place earining $800,185.

David raised the pot to 500k and Dan called. The flop brings out J-9-3 and David Pham checked his action to Dan who fired out 700k. David moved all-in and Dan called with 10-9o versus the K-Qo of Pham. The turn was an A and now David picked up more outs. The river card was an 8 which was the blank that Dan needed and he scoops the pot and takes a monstrous chip lead. David is left with 1.26 million. Two hands later, David moved all-in and got called by Dan and the two turned up their hands. Dan 10-6 David A-6 The board was 3-K-5-4-4 and David's ace high won the pot. After the hand was over, David said, "It's not over!" to which Dan replied, "I put a stake in your heart like 4 times and you're still here!" The next hand saw aflop of Q-7- and Dan moved all-in and David insta-called with Q-7 versus the K-7 of Dan. The turn was a 8 and the river was the last 7 in the deck. Ladies and Gentlemen, we are almost even in chips again! 3 hands that took David Pham from top to bottom...back to top again!

The players are on a 10 minute t.v. break. The play is still tight as both players are fighting over the blinds but no flops in quite some time. David still has a chiplead and continues to change gears after 3 or 4 hands. They both look worn out from the past days of play.
The chip counts are: David Pham - 6.56 million Dan Harrington - 3.43 million
Friday, 31st of August 2007 12:00 AM
The blinds are at 100k-200k with a 20k ante.
Dan harrington has changed gear in the last few hands. He went from a tight player to raising and reraising almost every hand. David seems to be on his heels, but not completely done. David has 6.6 million versus the 3.6 million of Dan.

The action between the two players is tight. The chips are really close right now with Dan holding roughly 5 million and David catching up with 4.7 million, so neither player is willing to get into big pots. Mostly, they are sizing each other up. There was a hand where Dan raised in the sb and David called, but once the cards were out, they both checked it down to see each other's cards. One hand just had a board of Q-10-9-Q-10 and Dan was first to act, so he checked. David quickly checked and Dan turned over the 10-9 for the river full house and was hoping David would make a bet. David looked a little disturbed by that hand and has since been a bit sheepish with his chips.
Thursday, 30th of August 2007 10:53 PM
We are heads up and the chip stacks are as follows:
Seven hands into the heads up play and Dan Harrington raised the pot 300k and David makes the call. The flop is 7-Q-3 and Dan leads out again for 350k. David reluctantly calls and the turn is one more 7. Dan checked his action over to David who suddenly woke up and fired out 450k, which Dan now looks sick as he simply calls. The river card was the 4 and David fires another bullet worth 1.5 million and Dan tanks for a minute. He studies the board and glances over at David who waits motionless for the action to end. David finally called the massive bet and David asked, "you have a queen?" Dan replies with a yes and David simply says, "Nice call!" and mucks his hand. Harrington tables Q-10 as Pham mucks and now Dan is up to 5.8 million (roughly).

David Pham raised on the button to 400k, Dan Harrington folded and the action was over to Thu Nguyen. Thu announced that he was all-in and David made the insta-call with A Q versus the A 5 of Thu. The flop was J 7 3 , and the A-Q was still in the lead. The turn card was the K and the river 3 was enough to send Thu off the stage in 3rd place earning $388,660.

Tom Schneider came into today's table as the chipleader, but lost several key hands to put himself on the short stack. Tom was on the button and decided to make his move all-in. Thu Nguyen folded and the action was on David Pham who insta-called and tabled pocket K's. Tom held the A-9 and we're off to the flop of J-10-9. Tom would need any A or a 9 to take control of the hand, but the turn was another 10. The river was Tom's last hope. the 6 was enough to give David the pot and Tom Schneider finishes the night in 4th place earning $228,625.

The action is still fairly slow.
Dan Harrington made a preflop raise to 240k and Thu Nguyen, who was in the sb called. David Pham folded and the flop was K 4 8 . Thu checked over to Dan who fired out a 300k bet and Thu reluctantly folded.
No one wants to make a rash decision and David Pham is taking full advantage of the situation. He's managed to reraise almost everone's raise at least once. He also doesn't seem to want to fold any hands when the action gets around to him.

Tom schneider has been getting his milk money robbed all day. He was down to his last 700k and after giving money to Dan Harrington and David Pham. Tom finally finds his moment UTG and pushes his stack in and Thu Nguyen folds. Dan Harrington is next to act and he calls. The hands are turned up and we see Tom's pocket 7's versus the A-10 of Harrington. The flop was nothing short of amazement when the A-K-7 drops off the deck, giving Harrington top pair, but the set of 7's for Tom are in the lead. The A turn sends the crowd into a frenzy as Tom says, "The turn always makes it ugly." The river could've spelled the end of the day for Tom, but the harmless 3 gives Tom's cheering sectoin something to celebrate about. Tom is up to 1.5 million chips. David Pham has about 1.9 million Thu Nguyen has about 3.2 million Dan Harrington has about 3.1 million

With the board reading 4 6 3 3 A , Tom Schneider checks to David Pham who fires out a 200k bet. Tom thinks it over before finally deciding to reraise another 300k. David looks sick and has to mull it over and finally decides to call. Tom turns over the 9-10r and David feels better about his pair of aces on the river and scoops down a nice pot.

While the action is slow, I wanted to take the time to share this picture of all the players today. Due to the media restrictions, we're not able to get pictures while the tournament is going on, but this was taken about 10 minutes before they got started with the presentation of players.

The blinds are still at 30k-60k with a 5k ante. We have 4 players on the table.
The action has become a bit slow since the quick start. It's usually a raise OTB and everyone folds. Tom Schneider did get involved in a hand with Thu Nguyen, but when the flop was low, Thu bet out and Tom folded his K-4 face up.
Thursday, 30th of August 2007 06:49 PM
David Pham has pushed all-in against Tom Schneider and Tom called. Pham has pocket 10's and Tom has J-10. The flop was 2-7-Kr, the turn was another 2 and the river was another K. David Pham doubled through Tom.
Chip coutns at this point: Tom Schneider - 3.2 million Dan Harrington - 2.9 million Thu Nguyen - 2.6 million David Pham - 900k

David Pham was on the button in seat 5, Nguyen raised from the cutoff to 200,000, McClain reraised from the small blind to 600,000.Thu Nguyen decided to make his move all in, and McClain called all in for 1,045,000 with A Q . Nguyen held pocket J's, and we are off to the races. The flop dropped K J 2 , and Nguyen flopped the monstrous set. McClain picked up a gutshot straight draw, and he needed a 10. The turn came the 2 , and Nguyen made a full house to take down the hand. The 4 meant nothing, and Nguyen wins the pot with jacks full of deuces. Mike McClain is eliminated in fifth place, earning $182,900.

The players are on a short break and the blinds will go up to 30k-60k with a 5k ante.
Jack Liu (Shijia Liu) had the button in seat 1, Pham raises from middle position to 120,000, Liu moves all in from the button for 360,000, Harrington reraises from the small blind to 750,000, and Pham folds. Liu held A J , but Harrington was in the lead with Q Q . The flop came J 5 5 , and Liu picks up some additional outs when he paired his jack. He needed any ace or a jack. The turn card is the 6 , the river card is the 4 , and Dan Harrington wins the pot with two pair, queens and fives. Jack Liu is eliminated in 6th place earning $137,135.

Thursday, 30th of August 2007 05:29 PM The cards got in the air around 10 after 5. One of the first hands involved Mike McClain and Shi Jia Liu. McClain raised in the sb to 160k versus Liu who asked Mike how many chips he had left. When Mike told him the amount, Liu moved all-in and Mike called tabling pocket 10's versus the K-4. The flop qas Q-9-8, the turn was an A and the river was a J. Mike made a straight and doubled through Liu. On the next hand, Pham moved all-in in the cutoff and Liu called him down. David held the K-9 and Liu held A-10. The flop was J-4-3 and Liu still had the upper hand. The turn brought a 9 and David was now in the lead. The river was a Q and Pham doubles through, leaving Liu with around 300k.
