Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 10:49 PM

Joe Sebok, who is the shortest stack at the table, made a raise to 90k and the action folded around to Tom Schneider who asked Joe how much he had. Joe gave him a ballpark guess of 600k. Tom decided to put Sebok to the test by pushing all-in and Joe insta-called with his pocket Q's. Tom tabled A-J and the board popped out 2-5-6. So far so good for Joe, but the turn A spelled certain disaster for Joe and Tom took the lead. The river was a 10 and Joe Sebok is our t.v. table bubble boy in 7th place earning $114,310.

I wasn't able to get the action until the river but I do kow that Tom Schneider made a set of 5's and made a sizeable bet and Thu Nguyen called. when the set was tabled, Thu mucked his hand and shipped his money to Tom. It looked like a 200k bet on the river by Tom.

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 10:28 PM

We are down to 7 players and the blinds are at 20k-40k with a 5k ante.

Losing one more player to make the t.v. table is on the minds of each player. One person will miss the coverage and be sent home with a $114,310 consolation prize. The play is tight and the players all have a worn look on their face. tis might be a long night to reach the t.v. table.

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 10:17 PM

Preflop David Pham made a smallish raise and the action got over to Tom Schneider who made it 210k. David called and the flop was 6-10-2 and both players checked. The turn was a J and Tom fired out 400k into the middle and David called again. The river was a J and Tom immediately moved all-in. David squirmed in his chair for a little while before finally folding his hand and Tom scoops down the pot.

Thu Nguyen made a raise to 120k and the action got over to Billy Pilossoph who was in the BB and moved all-in. Thu called and had A-K versus the A-6 of Billy. The flop was in favor of Thu when the K-K-5 came. The turn was a 9 and the river was an 8. Billy Pilossoph is headed home in 8th place earning $91,450.

Utg, Tom Schneider limped in for 30k and Thu Nguyen popped it up to 12ok. David Pham made short time of reraising the pot another 300k. The action folded around to Tom Scneider who moved all-in for $1 million . Thu thought long and hard before folding his hand. Thu looked sick to his stomach to have to fold in that spot, but the action was on David who also had to go in the tank before folding his hand. Tom picks up a big pot after making a limp reraise.

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 09:29 PM

David Pham lead out in middle position for 90k and Mike McClain called. The flop was 6 K 6 and David fired out a 350k bet. Mike went in the tank before calling the bet and the turn was an A. The two players checked and the river was a 4 and again, the two players checked. David turned over the A-K and Mike mucked his hand. David scooped in the pot that was around 1 million.

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 08:59 PM

Shi Jia Liu just doubled through Tom Schneider with pocket 10's versus the 5-6 of Tom on a flop of 8-2-5. The turn was a 10 and the river was a 6. Liu is around 1 million.

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 08:50 PM

Dan Hrrington just doubled through Thu Nguyen when Harrington moved all-in with pocket K's versus the pocket 4's of thu. The board missed everyone and the K's hold up.

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 08:21 PM

In the cut-off, David Pham made a raise to 90k and Joe Sebok decided to make it 220k extra. David went in the tank for a minute before asking the tournament staff what 8th place pays out. The tournament director said, "91k if you go out now." After hearing the money, David Pham announced that he was all-in and Joe insta-called, tabling pocket 10's. David held A-9 and the flop came A-K-Q. Now Joe was on the short end, but still had outs with any J or 10.The turn was an 8 and the river was a 2. Sebok has been crippled and is down to 685k. David is up to 1.275 million.

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 08:16 PM

The players just took a small break and have returned to 15k-30k blinds with a 3k ante.

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 08:06 PM

Lee Markholt was in late position and to raised it up to 80k. Mike McClain reraised to 200k in the sb and Lee moved all-in. Mike calls (with a little hesitation??) showing pocket A's and Lee had pocket Q's. The flop was a monster...A-3-3. It looks real bad for Lee until the Q on the turn gives a ray of hope. The river is a 4 and Lee tosses his hand in and says, "that's the best hand I've seen all day." and makes his exit in 9th earining $68,590.

The two turned up their hands and Harrington held pocket 8's and Pham had pocket 10's. The flop was Q-4-10 giving Pham the set. The turn was a 9 and the river 9 sealed the deal for Pham who is up to 800k (roughly).

With the board showing 2 3 5 Q 3, Shijia Jiu made a big bet and Joe Sebok went over the top to all-in. Liu said, "I can only beat a bluff." he called and had the nut flush with A 9 and Joe shook his head and mucked. Joe is down to 500k and needs some help. I still don't quite understand Liu's comment about beating a bluff, but maybe he thought that Sebok made a full house?!?

Joe Sebok

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 03:23 PM

One opponent made a raise from middle position to 50k. Joe Sebok was OTB and and made the raise to 250k. Thu Nguyen moved his remaining 775k in the middle and Joe asked for the count. The call would cost him 225k more and he called showing pocket 6's versus the pocekt A's for Thu. The flop was 5-8-K, the turn was another K and the river was a 10. Thu Nguyen took down a monster pot and now has 1.6 million.

I'm a curse! On a flop of 8-6-2 Joe Sebock put 40k in the pot and got reraised by Franco Brunetti who was all-in. Franco got called by Lee Markholt and Joe Sebok. The turn was a 7 and Joe fired out another bet and Lee was forced to fold. Franco turned up pocket 9's and Joe hit his straight on the turn with his 10-9. The river was a J and Franco was sent home finishing in 16th earning $34,295.

Wednesday, 29th of August 2007 03:02 PM

One of the locals I had a chance to meet is still in the tournament and trying to get ahead is Franco Brunetti. He is currently holding over 230k. Many of the local players keep asking me about him, so I wanted to give a quick update.

We had two hands develop at the same time. First, On a board of 3 J 4 10 8, Dan Harrington fired out a bet of 200k to Peter Fieldman who looked unsure about the bet. He reluctantly called and we saw that Harrington made his flush on the river with Q 9. Peter mucked and Dan is 300k richer.

As I was jotting the previous hand down I hear Thu Nguyen move all-in against Mike Jung. Jung made a look on his face like, "well, I raised, I might as well call." and he put his chips in the middle. Thu turned over the A-J and Mike held pocket 10's. The flop was A-Q-6r, the turn was a 4 and the river was another A. Mike Jung is out in 17th place earning $34,295.

Despite the amount of money they are playing for, most of the players are in a festive mood. Usually the rail is much louder than the tables, but not in this case.
