Main Event - day 3
Tuesday, 28th of August 2007 08:00 PM

In a blind versus blind confrontation, Ryan Russ was in the sb and simply went all-in. David Pham decided to make the call and the two turned up their hands. Russ held K-2 and Pham had the A-8. The flop was 4-10-J, the turn was another J and the river is the 8. David Pham takes out the small stack and ends day 3! We have 18 players remaining and I will get a chip count as soon as I get the info in my hands.

The table I wrote about from the last post is the action table. Preflop, Gavin Griffin and Lee Markholt get it all-in and Griffin's pocket Q's are way behind the pocket K's of Markholt. The board reads J-7-7-9-K and Lee Markholt catapults to 960k and Gavin is left with 95k, roughly.

Two hands later, Gavin pushes in his remaining stack and got called by Joe Sebok who had A-K versus the K-3 of Griffin. The flop brings an A and that's enough to send Gavin Griffin to the rails in 20th earning $25,150.

we have one more player to go before we bag and tag all the chips and leave for the evening.

The players are on a break and will return to 6k-12k blinds with a 2k ante.

Tuesday, 28th of August 2007 06:37 PM

We are down to 21 players at 3 tables.

The one table that looks to be the toughest has to be the one with:

Joe Sebok, who is sitting with 740k and some humorous table talk. He is in seat 9.

Joe Sebok

Joe asked Dan harrington a few minutes ago if he'd been eating his wheaties. Harrington replied, "Up until a few minutes ago, you wouldn't think so!" This was in reference to Harrington's all-in against Lee Markholt. Dan held pocket Q's and Lee held A-Q. The board read 2-9-3-7-10 and Dan is up to 165k and is in seat 3.

Peter Feldman is in seat 4 and is the current chipleader with 990k. Joe Sebok also made a funny with Peter when he told him that Peter reminded him of a social studies teacher. The table got a chuckle outta that one.

In seat 6, Gavin Griffin just took out our 22nd place player when his K-10 flopped 2 pair against a pocket pair of Q's and took down the pot.

The field is down to 28 and we are playing down to 18 today before we call it a night. The blinds are still at 4k-8k with a 1k ante.

Thu Nguyen was OTB and raised the 25k. The sb folded and the action was to Dutch Boyd who fired out a 100k reraise and Thu moved all-in. Dutch made the call and turned up A-Q versus the pocket K's of Thu. The flop was 5-J-3. The turn dropped a Q and the river was a 2. Dutch was left with a mere 30k. The next hand he moved all-in and got called by 2 players. When the hands were turned up for the other players, Dutch simply mucked his hand and left the table. he finished 30th earning $20,575.

In an earlier hand, Gavin Griffin made a raise against Barry Greenstein who moved all-in. Gavin insta-called and we saw that Gavin had pocket 10's versus the Q-J of Greenstein. The flop was A-A-2, the turn came another A and the river was a K. Barry is done for the day in 31st earining $20,575.

David Chiu just put his tournament life on the line with his pocket 10's and got a call from Raymond Davis who held K-Q. The flop was 2-2-Q, the turn was a 7 and the river was a 9. David Chiu has been sent home!

Over on Steve Brecher's table, one of the opponents used the dreaded F--- word and got a penalty. He was saying the word after David Pham pulled off a bluff and the hand was over. The F man wasn't saying it to anyone in particular, but the TDA rules state that you can't say it in any form. Most of these players are hot off the WSOP, who loosened the rules this year to say that you CAN say the F word... if it's not directed at anyone. The Bike still follows the TDA rules as they are in the rule book and Steve isn't too happy. He just stood up and said, "If the f word rule isn't changed, I'm not coming back here!" One of the floormen came over and simply handed Steve a sheet with the rules on it and explained to him that they are following the guidelines.

Tuesday, 28th of August 2007 04:10 PM

Anna Wroblewski just stopped by Barry Greenstein's table to tell him that she was busted out with pocket K's against her opponents pocket A's. An ace flopped and that spelled doom for Anna!

Tuesday, 28th of August 2007 03:58 PM

Josh Arieh just came to the podium asking where he gets paid. He's out in 44th.

The players have taken a 10 minute break and are returning to 4k-8k blinds with a 1k ante. We have 45 players in the field.

Tuesday, 28th of August 2007 03:30 PM

The action forlded around to the small blind on table 12 and he moved all-in. Joe Sebok was in the BB and peered down to see one card which was an ace. He says he may have to call with the one ace, but looks at his second card and, it too is an ace. He calls turning up his rockets and the sb shaows Q 10. The flop is Q J 9, which looks bad for Sebok. The turn is a brick and the river is even lower brick and Joe Sebok busted the bubble and everyone is in the money now.

The unlucky bubble boy!

Just before the bubble,From late position, Arthur Peacock raised to 18,000. Action moved to Anna Wroblewski who pushed all-in for 22,000 total. Arthur put in the additional 4,000. Anna held A-5 and Peacock flipped over A-K. The flop came 10-8-5 and Anna took the lead. The turn was a J and the river was a 4. No help to Peacock and Anna Wroblewski is still in the hunt.

We are hand for hand!

Tuesday, 28th of August 2007 03:00 PM

Anna Wroblewski just lost a huge chunk of her chips in a hand just now, but isn't quite so crippled yet.

The tournament director just made the announcement that we are down to 47 players and are very close to hand for hand play.

We are down to 6 tables.

Tuesday, 28th of August 2007 02:29 PM

The media (including myself) were all moved outside of the tournament room during the first few days of action. This meant that we were only allowed in the room for 15 minutes of every hour of the tournament. Now that we are down to 7 tables, the tournament staff have put ropes up and we can now sit in the room and oversee the action without picking when to go in. This means that I will be right on top of the action as it unfolds, instead of hearing about it through a friend of a friend, or catching someone on a break and asking them.

Adam Geyer has had the chiplead for most of the evening during day2. He will try to keep that lead till the end. Barry Greenstein was down for the first half of day 2, but after 3 key al-in's, he's roared back to take second in chips. There are a few other big names within stricking distance of the lead in this tournament, so it's still anyones game. Day 3 is the crucial money day. most don't care about the money alone, but it has to be in the back of their minds this close to the bubble. We have 53 and need to lose 8 before we can send the busted players to gather in their consolation prize. Tune in to Pokerpages.com as we see the action unfold on day 3!
