We are almost to the end of the day. I will try my best to put up a chip count of the players as soon as I can. As for the tournament, the players are bagging up their chips and getting ready to go home for the evening. We will pick up action tomorrow when the two day 1's combine and we play for 6 levels or to the money, whichever comes first. Action will resume at 2 p.m., here in California. For all you east coasties, that will be 5 p.m.

Sunday, 26th of August 2007 11:03 PM

George Yutuc just doubled through Shane Schleger when his J 10 flopped a king high straight versus the set of K's of Shane's. The turn and river were bricks and George is up to 34k.

The players have returned from a break and are now at 400-800 with a 100 ante.
Here are the current chipleaders:

Alfred Megrabyan - 126k
Robert Cheung - 94k
Joe Sebok - 87k
Theo Tran - 82k
Mike Wattel - 75k
Jordan Morgan - 68k
Tuan Le - 67k
Jonas Entin - 67k
Evelyn Ng - 63k
Danny Wong - 60k

On a sad note, Cindy Violette has been eliminated from the tournament. She moved all-in with her shortstack and got a call from an opponent who held K-Q. Violette's pocket 10's got crushed on a flop of K-Q-8. the turn and river were blanks and she's been voted off the poker island.

The players just took a break and have returned to 300-600 blinds with a 75 ante.

John Juanda has been eliminated from the tournament when his pocket 9's ran up aginst his opponents overpair.

Erick Seidel has also been taken out earlier in this last round

Hans Lund has been grinding it out all day. He's around 34k

I talked to Amir Vahedi during the break and he's been up and down in the tournament. He did tell me that he'd had pocket A's cracked several times, but managed to keep from losing his stack on those occaisions.

Chris "The Armenian Express" Grigorian is doing well. He's holding 62k.

Jordan Morgan says his table has been soft and that's why he's at 68k.

A couple of weeks ago I had the fortune of meeting Pamela Brunson, who was fresh off her victory at The Ladies Night at The Bike event. We talked about her short tournament career, her "Queen Kitty Pawsee" and of course, her dad. She never really came out and said that Doyle would be at this event, but after we parted that night, I knew that he would show up. Not just to play, but for moral support of his daughter who is new to the tournament circuit. She is currently holding 28k

Doyle is on the downward spiral with 14k.

Evelyn Ng has been moved from her first table to the table with Mike Matusow, Gavin Smith, and Erick Lindgren. She has a modest 35k stack.

Tuan Le says he's been riding the chip rollercoaster all day. I have a feeling that's an average day for him.

We are in the 3rd level with a 25 ante and 100-200 blinds. I overheard Joe Sebok telling that he's up over 50k during the break and that makes him the chipleader.

As I walked past Gavin Smith's table earlier I noticed that's he's around the 42k mark.

Sunday, 26th of August 2007 04:50 PM

The blinds are up to 100-200. The tournament is still in small ball mode. The play so far for today has been a bit more aggressive than yesterday at this time.

Our chipleader at this point seems to be Tom Schneider, who holds over 42k. He has the Phil Laak look going and seems to be very comfortable at his table.

Tom Schneider

"The Prince of Poker" Scotty Nguyen is here and has been in very high spirits since his amazing run at this year's WSOP main event.

Speaking of WSOP, the strange occurences around Vinnie Vhinh and his absences at some of the events have rumors swirling here. I do hope he has a good run at this tournament!

Vinnie Vinh

A tough table today has to be the one where Erick Lindgren is. he's in seat 9...

Erick Lindgren

And then he has these two at seat 6 and 7 to contend with.

Gavin Smith and Mike Matusow

Mike was telling me during the break about a deal he's made with a clothing company that will start a new line of clothing that will be out early next year. Mike "The Mouth" clothing? Interesting.

Sunday, 26th of August 2007 03:10 PM
