Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 06:46 PM Join us tomorrow at 5:00PM PDT to see who will win the title and more than a million dollars!Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 06:44 PM Our final table is set:
|
| 1 | Richard Kirsch | 810,000 | | 2 | Jonathan Little | 956,000 | | 3 | Cory Carroll | 1,235,000 | | 4 | Phil Ivey | 1,395,000 | | 5 | Darrell Dicken | 1,203,000 | | 6 | Amnon Filippi | 571,000 |
Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 06:37 PM David Peat raised to 70K from the button and Richard Kirsch pushed all in for 398K total. Peat took a long time thinking about it, as he and Kirsch had about the same number of chips. Then, he inexplicably called and turned over A 5 . Kirsch looked very happy when he turned over A K . The board came A 3 7 3 J . Kirsch doubled up and Peat was left with a paltry 10K.On the very next hand, several players limped, Peat went all-in, and all the remaining players checked the 3 T 4 flop. On the 7 turn, Jonathan Little bet 40K to the severe annoyance of the other players. Only Darrell Dicken decided to come along. On the 6 river, both of them checked. Little turned over T 3 for the flopped two pair. Dicken mucked. Peat flipped over his cards for the first time and saw A 7 . Not good enough. David Peat finishes on the TV bubble in 7th place, earning $72,047. Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 06:23 PM Darrell Dicken just took 120K off Richard Kirsch by going all-in on the flop, which Kirsch wouldn't call.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 06:22 PM Jonathan Little raised to 55K and Phil Ivey called from the button. The flop came Q 6 4 . Little led out with 100K and Ivey called. Both players checked the 4 turn. On the 5 river, Little checked, Ivey took a long time before betting 150K. Little looked uneasy but decided to call. Ivey turned over Q T and that was good for the huge pot.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 06:14 PM Now Jonathan Little won a nice pot from Amnon Filippi when his pocket nines were good on a A-Q-7-6-7 board.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 06:12 PM We're on the television bubble, but play has not reflected caution. We have seen a lot of raises and re-raises preflop. Cory Carroll took down two nice pots. Then, when Darrell Dicken and Amnon Filippi limped, Richard Kirsch pushed all-in for a whopping 500K from the blind. The others folded and Kirsch showed pocket tens.

| Jon Friedberg - 8th Place | |
Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 05:54 PM Jon Friedberg raised to 60K and Phil Ivey reraised to 200K from the button. It came back around to Jon, who moved all-in for an additional 270K, which Ivey called. Friedberg showed A T and Ivey had J J . The board came T 8 4 2 9 . Jon Friedberg is eliminated in 8th place, taking home $57,637.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 05:47 PM Cory Carroll is not to be trifled with. When Jonathan Little, in the small blind, raised to 55K, Carroll, in the big blind, reraised to 170K. Little folded. On the next hand, Amnon Filippi raised to 60K and Carroll, in the small blind, reraised to 200K. Filippi folded.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 05:34 PM And now Jon Friedberg doubled through Amnon Filippi when his A 8 beat out 9 9 by catching a lucky turn card, when the board came 5 5 6 A 3 .Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 05:33 PM Jonathan Little doubled his 301K through Richard Kirsch when his 9 9 held up against A Q .Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 05:31 PM Darrell Dicken raised to 60K and Amnon Filippi called from the button. Flop came 6 A 6 . Dicken bet 90K and Filippi called. On the 5 turn, Dicken checked, Amnon bet 180K, and Dicken folded. Amnon showed T T .Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 05:27 PM Jonathan Little raised to 55K and Phil Ivey, Amnon Filippi (small), and David Peat (big) called. On the 7 K K flop, all three checked to Ivey, who fired out 120K and got all three to fold. Amnon asked Phil what he had and Phil just smiled the smile of someone who got away with something.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 05:08 PM Play has resumed. Darrell Dicken is still our chip leader, with about 1.2M. Jon Friedberg appears to be the short stack, but is in no immediate peril with a little less than 400K.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 04:52 PM We are on our next 15-minute break. When players return, they will be playing at level 16: blinds of 10K/20K with a 3K ante.

| Randy Holland - 9th Place | |
Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 04:49 PM We just had the biggest pot of the tournament. It folded around to Randy Holland in the small blind, who just completed the 16K blind. Darrell Dicken, not surprisingly, raised to 45K. Holland immediately announced all-in. Dicken asked for a count, which turned out to be a whopping 457K more. Dicken took a loooong time but finally announced that he was calling. Holland had A K and Dicken had T T . Another race. The first four cards of the board came out 4 2 8 Q , giving Holland a ton of outs, including the eight hearts, two other aces, and three other kings. But the 4 river ended his tournament run. Randy Holland goes out in 9th place, earning $46,110.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 04:38 PM Now Phil Ivey took a nice pot from Cory Carroll.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 04:36 PM Amnon Filippi raised to 46K and Cory Carroll called from the big blind. Both checked the 7 K 6 flop. On the 8 turn, Cory check-called a bet of 35K. On the 5 river, Carroll led out with 155K and Filippi folded.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 04:33 PM Randy Holland raised to 44K and Richark Kirsch jacked it up to 128K. Holland separated from his cards quickly.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 04:25 PM Looks like we may be here for a little while!Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 04:25 PM The short stacks have gotten the better of the confrontations with the bigger stacks. Phil Ivey raised to 45K and Amnon Filippi, after getting a count of Ivey's chips, raised to 216K, which would put Ivey all-in. Ivey called and nonchalantly turned over A A . Filippi had K K . Board came 7 3 Q 5 9 . Phil Ivey - who had been the shortest stack at the table - doubles up.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 04:10 PM Darrell Dicken raised to 48K and David Peat pushed all-in for 315K total. Dicken called and showed T T . Peat had A J . Out came the 2 J 8 flop and Peat took the lead with his jacks. The 9 turn gave Dicken an open-end straight. But the A river was not what he was looking for. David Peat doubles up.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 04:02 PM Darrell Dicken raised to 48K, Jonathan Little called, and Jon Friedberg - the table's short stack - pushed all-in from the button for 199K total. Dicken folded and Little called. Friedberg showed 9 9 . Little was in "big trouble" with Q Q and only a 4-1 favorite. Of course, the flop came 7 2 9 , giving Friedberg his set of nines. The 3 turn and 6 river made no difference, as neither player had a club in their hand. Jon Friedberg doubles up.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 03:56 PM Phil Ivey just took another hit when he lost a pot to Amnon Filippi.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 03:54 PM Randy Holland pushed in again, this time for 264K, and Cory Carroll called from the small blind. Holland had J J and was up against Carroll's A Q . The flop was a decisive 9 7 J , giving Holland top set. The uneventful turn-river of 5 8 meant that Holland doubled through and Carroll took a hit for about 25% of his chips.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 03:37 PM On a flop of 8 T A , Phil Ivey and Darrell Dicken checked, and Amnon Filippi bet 80K, which only Dicken called. Both players checked the 7 turn. On the 5 river, Dicken bet a whopping 200K and Filippi called right away, turning over A Q . Dicken mucked and stared at Filippi.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 03:31 PM The two biggest stacks appear to be Darrell Dicken with 1.5M and Cory Carroll with 1.1M. The two shortest look to be Jon Friedberg with 210K and Randy Holland with about 280K.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 03:30 PM Randy Holland pushed in for his last 260K but got no callers.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 03:28 PM Cory Carroll raised to 56K and Phil Ivey pushed in for a little less than 400K. Carroll folded.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 03:07 PM We are on a fifteen minute break. When they return, the blinds will be 8K/16K with a 2K ante.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 03:02 PM One thing I've noticed about Richard Kirsch is that he acts very quickly, very unlike the others at the table, who are deliberate, sometimes excruciatingly so (to observers).Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 03:01 PM Amnon Filippi raised to 35K and Richard Kirsch, on the button, raised to 100K. Jonathan Little, in the small blind, moved all-in. Filippi folded and Kirsch folded his pocket jacks face-up.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:56 PM Phil Ivey just lost 100K to Richard Kirsch. Ivey has become one of the shorter stacks now.

| Mikko Pispala - 10th Place | |
Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:54 PM Mikko Pispala was very patient but finally moved all-in preflop with his last 116K. Cory Carroll called and then rest of the table got out of the way. Pispala had A 8 but was in big trouble against Carroll's K K . The board came all little cards: 5 6 5 7 3 . Mikko Pispala finishes in 10th place, earning $34,582.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:52 PM Jonathan Little raised to 33K and Phil Ivey popped it to 95K from the small blind. Little then moved in for all his 403K and Ivey folded in frustration.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:38 PM A few hands of one raiser and all folds. Then this hand came up: four players saw an unraised pot. When the flop came J 4 6 , it was checked to Darrell Dicken, who bet 25K. Only Jonathan Little called. When the turn came A , Little checked, Dicken bet 62K, Little check-raised to 162K, and Dicken re-raised to 300K. Little backed down and folded.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:23 PM An unusual occurrence: a four-way limped pot. When the 7\4 3 T flop came, Phil Ivey led out with 30K and only Darrell Dicken called. With the J turn, Ivey continued with a 60K bet and Dicken came along again. With the 5 river, Ivey rearranged his chips numerous times before settling on a 120K bet, which Dicken refused to call.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:21 PM Randy Holland raised to 41K, Darrell Dicken called, and Jonathan Little pushed all-in for 496K. Both the others folded quickly.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:07 PM Just by a quick look at the chip stacks, I believe the two shortest to be Mikko Pispala with about 150K and Jon Friedberg with about 220K. Everyone else has at least 400K. With ten players remaining, the average stack is 618K. Darrell Dicken is still the leader, with about 1.5M.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:03 PM Players have redrawn and are getting situated into one final table.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:02 PM At the same time as that hand was playing on one table, Jonathan Little and David Peat were tangling in a big pot. Eventually, neither player paired the board and Little's A J outkicked Peat's 6 .Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 02:01 PM On a flop of Q 8 8 , David Pham got the rest of his chips in and Darrell Dicken called. Pham had A 5 for the nut flush draw and Dicken had 8 7 for trip eights. The 4 turn and A river was not enough to save The Dragon. David Pham finishes in 11th place, earning $34,582.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:55 PM We now have a five-handed table and a six-handed table. Once another player is eliminated, we will redraw and consolidate down to one ten-handed table.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:54 PM Nam Le - one of the shortest stacks - just busted when his A-K failed to improve against Randy Holland's Q-Q. Nam Le takes 12th place, for a respectable $34,582.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:51 PM And now, just when I go and say that, Phil Ivey doubles through Mikko Pispala by holding A K when the board read J A K K 2 . Pispala could hardly afford to lost that much, as he is now left with just 150K behind.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:48 PM Phil Ivey took another small hit and is now around 190K.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:47 PM Folded to him on the button, Shannon Shorr pushed in with his last 60K. Darrell Dicken called from the small blind. Dicken had 5 5 and Shorr had the fearsome 4 2 . The board did not cooperate with Shorr's plans, though, as it came Q K 2 7 8 . Shannon Shorr is out in 13th place, earning $28,818.

| John D'Agostino - 14th Place | |
Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:37 PM I should have taken the under. Richard Kirsch raised to 50K and John D'Agostino moved all-in for 137K total. Kirsch called and showed 8 8 . J-Dags had A K . The flop came 6 2 2 . J-Dags: "Dammit." The turn came 5 . "Dammit." And the river came an insulting 8 . "Dammit." John D'Agostino finishes in 14th spot, earning $28,818.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:28 PM Here we go in level 14: 6K/12K with a 1K ante.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:22 PM John D'Agostino just strolled by and told me that the "over/under" on his tournament survival is 25 minutes. I'm taking the over.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:18 PM Players with short stacks right now - which I am defining as 150K or less - include John D'Agostino, Nam Le, Shannon Shorr, and David Pham. Once we return from this break, the new blinds will be 6K/12K with a 1K ante. Which means a player with 150K has just six orbits of a seven-handed table before they are blinded out. Translation: Danger Zone!Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:16 PM Players are on a 15-minute break.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:15 PM Another big one. Darrell Dicken limped under the gun, Mikko Pispala limped, and then Phil Ivey, on the button, raised to 42K. Dicken called, Pispala folded. The flop came J 7 3 . Dicken checked, Ivey bet 60K, and Dicken called. Both checked the T turn. The river came 5 and Dicken checked again. Phil Ivey took a long while before betting 100K. Dicken slid out 100K. "I have a ten," said Phil, looking like he knew he was beat. Dicken rolled over J 8 for top pair and scooped the huge pot. After that hand, Ivey has lost more than half of the chips he started the day with. After beginning with 465K, he is down to 200K.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 01:03 PM Big hand. Amnon Filippi raised to 25K and Darrell Dicken, on the button, raised to 75K. Jon Friedberg, in the big blind, looked down at his cards, waited 2.3 seconds, and then slid out his entire 175K. Filippi showed his cards to his neighbor Phil Ivey and then folded with a doleful look on his face. Dicken took a full two minutes before deciding to call. Friedberg had A K and Dicken had K Q . So Dicken needed a queen but no ace. Instead, he got both, when the board came A Q 2 . The 2 turn and 4 river changed nothing. Jon Friedberg more than doubles up and Darrell Dicken takes a hit.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:56 PM Shannon Shorr has helped his cause a little bit by taking a pot from Amnon Filippi and climbing back over the 100K mark.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:54 PM Randy Holland has just busted Tom Pniak, who finishes in 15th place, earning $28,818.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:51 PM It folded to Amnon Filippi in the small blind, who raised to 24K. David Pham, short-stacked and in the big blind, called. The flop came K J 2 . Filippi led out with 35K and Pham folded, leaving himself with just 100K left.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:50 PM John D'Agostino moved all-in with his 120K and got no callers. Then he flipped over pocket kings and rolled his eyes.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:43 PM Shannon Shorr had folded his way down to 35K. Then, when it folded to him on the button, he moved in. Jon Friedberg in the big blind did some math and decided to call. But Shorr's K-J held up against Friedberg's K-3, so Shorr doubled up. Despite that, Shorr still has a dangerously low stack and will need to double up again soon.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:42 PM Cory Carroll raised and Davidson Matthew pushed all-in, which Carroll called immediately. Carroll had Q Q and Matthew had 5 5 . Neither hand improved when the board dropped 2 8 6 3 A . Davidson Matthew finishes in 16th place, earning $23,056.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:33 PM Mikko Pispala and Shannon Shorr raised each other until they were both all-in preflop. Pispala had A A and Shorr was in dire straits with A K . No miracle from the board of J 9 3 6 4 . Mikko Pispala doubles his 175K through Shannon Shorr, who is left with about 50K.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:31 PM John D'Agostino has eliminated Cuong Nguyen in 17th place, good for $23,056.

| Alan Goehring - 18th place | |
Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:25 PM Alan Goehring surprisingly called a raise when he was in the big blind and then folded on the flop. Then he folded his small blind, leaving himself with a ridiculous 18K. Then the following hand came up:
Mikko Pispala raised to 25K, Goehring pushed his 17K in, and Darrell Dicken called from the big blind. The flop came an intriguing 9 9 9 . Dicken checked, Pispala bet 20K, and Dicken called. The turn was the T . Dicken checked again, Pispala bet 50K and Dicken quietly slid out 100K for the check-raise. Pispala flicked his cards away. Dicken turned over 7 9 for flopped quads. Goehring laughed and threw his cards to the dealer, face-down. Alan Goehring finishes in 18th place, earning $23,056.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:13 PM Shannon Shorr won a 100K pot from Mikko Pispala when his A-6 was better than T-8 on a 9-Q-9-3-9 board.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:12 PM Davidson Matthew pushed all-in but got no callers.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 12:03 PM Cards are in the air!Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 11:59 AM Players are unbagging their chips and getting ready to do battle. Alan Goehring is on the super short stack, with just 60K, so look for news about a bustout or double up within the first few hands.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 11:53 AM Less than ten minutes now. We will be resuming level 13, with 4K/8K blinds and a 1K ante.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 11:26 AM We are scheduled to start in about 35 minutes. We will play today until we have the final table six, however long that takes.Tuesday, 22nd of May 2007 11:25 AM And here they are sorted by their seating assignments:
