Clock is still paused as they are discussing a deal. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 11:04 PM And suddenly they are down to 10. They're drawing seats and getting situated at the final table. Chip counts coming shortly. |
| 11 | $360 | Yang Sun Woo | Los Angeles, CA | | 12 | $360 | Michael Hansen | Sherman Oaks, CA |
Sunday, 15th of April 2007 10:57 PM Level 13: Blinds 1,500/3,000, Limits 3K/6K. Play continues. 12 players remain. Average is almost 37K. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 10:56 PM Marwan Abdelal found himself pot-stuck on the turn with the board showing J J 9 T with two clubs. He tossed his last 1,500 chips in with a flush draw (A 8 ) and found he was drawing dead as his opponent held pocket Tens for the full house. Latest departures: |
| 13 | $285 | Marwan Abdelal | Los Angeles, CA | | 14 | $285 | Michael Hulse | Terminal Island, CA | | 15 | $285 | Leo Kay | Canyon Country, CA | | 16 | $230 | Joe Whiting | El Monte, CA | | 17 | $230 | Reynaldo Agunos | La Puente, CA | | 18 | $230 | Brian Allande | Sherman Oaks, CA |
Sunday, 15th of April 2007 10:42 PM Michael Hulse got his last chips in on the turn with the board showing 8 7 5 T. Michael's AJ was trailing his opponent's J5 (pair of 5s). Michael needed an Ace to win or a 9 to split, but the river was another 5 and Michael was busted. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 10:26 PM Level 12: Blinds 1K/2K, Limits 2K/4K. Play continues. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 10:21 PM Down to 18 players at two tables now. Average stack is about 24,600. Here are the folks that have already gotten paid: |
| 19 | $185 | Juan Carlos Rivillas | South Gate, CA | | 20 | $185 | Ho Alexander | Huntington Beach, CA | | 21 | $185 | Lance Lundgren | Huber Heights, OH | | 22 | $185 | Richard Young Eum | La Crescenta, CA | | 23 | $185 | Mike Romanos | Compton, CA | | 24 | $185 | Antonio Padilla | Santa Ana, CA | | 25 | $185 | Joseph Saccone | Hempstead, NY | | 26 | $185 | Frank Jordan | Tustin, CA | | 27 | $185 | Joseph Yankosky | Malibu, CA |
Sunday, 15th of April 2007 09:56 PM The first official payout: Joseph Yankosky finished in 27th place, earning $185. Level 11: Blinds 1,000/1,500, Limits 1,500/3,000. Play continues. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 09:50 PM Tomonori Honda is the beneficiary of the kindness of the field, as he just busted out in 28th place and was awarded $185. He won't appear in the 'official' results, however. The final 27 players have drawn seats and moved to the final 3 tables. Play has resumed. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 09:47 PM They got down to 28 players and agreed to take $185 off 1st place and pay 28th place. There were no objections, so all remaining players are in the money. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 09:38 PM 31 players remain. 27 will get paid. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 09:23 PM

Level 10: Blinds 500/1K, Limits 1K/2K. Play has resumed. Just before the break, Dave Liao won a big pot with an unimproved AK over KQ and was up to about 26,000 chips. Randy Suzuki is now the chip leader with about 28,000 chips. 37 players remain. Average stack is almost 12K. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 09:12 PM End of level 9 and players are on break. | Michael Hansen
It is hard to pick a clear leader right now as several players have crossed the 20K mark. Michael Hansen has about 23K and Eric Johnson has about 22K. 42 players remain. Average stack is about 10,500. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 08:41 PM 53 players remain. The pace of eliminations has slowed, but not from lack of trying. Jimmy Lim survived an all-in when his pocket Kings held up against pocket Jacks. The short stacks are getting their chips in with the best hands and their hands are holding up. Level 9: Blinds 400/800, Limits 800/1,600. Play continues. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 08:23 PM Down to 57 players now. Average stack is almost 7,800. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 08:12 PM Level 8: Blinds 300/600, Limits 600/1,200. Play continues. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 07:59 PM 72 players remain. Average stack is a bit over 6,100. | Jimmy Lim
Level 7: Blinds 200/400, Limits 400/800. Play has resumed. 82 players remain. Average stack is almost 5,400. It appears that Jimmy Lim is the chip leader with about 16,000 chips. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 07:30 PM End of level 6. They are taking a break and coloring up the green 25 chips. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 07:25 PM If I hadn't seen this with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it. A player had his last chips in without looking at his cards, against three opponents. He kept saying 'runner-runner', 'runner-runner' as the other players continued to fire at the side pot. At the river, the board showed Q x x 9 9. They settled the side pot and the winner held two pair (Q in his hand). The all-in player shuffled his hole cards like a 3-card monte game, declaring this to be the 'Degree All-In Moment'. He rolled over the first card, which was a useless 7. Then as the crowd gathered around the table, he rolled over the other card -- a 9! He took the main pot with trip 9s and survived his 'Degree All-In Moment'. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 07:15 PM 94 players remain. Average stack is about 4,700. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 06:57 PM Flopped top set, only to get beat by runner-runner straight on the river. Straight on the turn beat by the flush on the river. Top two-pair on the flop, beat by a set on the river. You gotta love his game, (until the river, that is). Level 6: Blinds 150/300, Limits 300/600. Play continues. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 06:46 PM Down to 14 tables, so 126 players remain. These folks are playing like this is no-limit. I just watched a hand where the betting was capped heads-up pre-flop (4 bets each) and on the King-high flop, one player got his last 250 chips in with pocket Tens, only to find that his opponent held pocket Kings and had flopped a set, leaving him needing perfect-perfect, which didn't come. Asta la vista, baby. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 06:28 PM Level 5: Blinds 100/200, Limits 200/400. Play continues. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 06:22 PM Down to 18 tables, so 162 players remain. Average stack is about 2,725. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 05:58 PM Level 4: Blinds 75/150, Limits 150/300. Play has resumed. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 05:48 PM End of level 3 and players are taking a break. 225 players remain. Average stack is about 1,975. 295 players entered, generating a prize pool of $28,615. 27 places wil pay, as follows: |
| 1 | $10,735 | | 2 | $5,295 | | 3 | $2,575 | | 4 | $1,715 | | 5 | $1,290 | | 6 | $1,000 | | 7 | $715 | | 8 | $570 | | 9 | $430 | | 10 - 12 | $360 | | 13 - 15 | $285 | | 16 - 18 | $230 | | 19 - 27 | $185 |
Sunday, 15th of April 2007 05:40 PM Down to 27 tables, so 243 players, at most. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 05:26 PM The bust-outs are coming much faster now. I'm also seeing a lot of now-familiar faces in the crowd. Ronnie McMillan, who seems determined to play all 18 events during this series, is here again today. Also, Taxi Molina and Alex Limjoco, who have cashed in prior events are back in action today. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 05:18 PM Level 3: Blinds 50/100, Limits 100/200. Play continues. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 05:13 PM Final player count is 295. At least half a dozen have busted out already...it is hard to get a clear count. The tables were set up as 9-handed to start the day, but they squeezed in some ten-seats as more players arrived to play. I think that all tables are back to 9-handed now, though. I'll get a better count on remaining players once the tables outside the ballroom have broken. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 04:48 PM Level 2: Blinds 25/50, Limits 50/100. Play continues. Now they won't have to try quite so hard.... Sunday, 15th of April 2007 04:40 PM This is a limit tournament, so someone would have to try very hard in order to bust out in the first level. Obviously, no one here is trying hard enough, because no one has busted out yet. 285 players have registered, so far. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 04:18 PM Okey Dokey boys and girls....here we go! Level 1: Blinds 25/50, Limits 25/50. Cards are in the air. Players begin with 1,500 in chips and all levels are 30 minutes. Sunday, 15th of April 2007 04:02 PM Today's event is Limit Hold'em, which usually draws much smaller fields that the No Limit events, but the Bike has been besting last year's field sizes by big margins, so we'll have to wait to see what the turnout is like today. Cards should be in the air shortly after the 4:15pm start time, allowing for the necessary announcments and warnings about using the 'F-word' that now preceed every event.
