Stacy Kopacz - 10th place

Dennis Anness raised up front and Stacy Kopacz (the last woman in this event) came over the top from the cutoff. Dennis called and the flop was A A 8. After a flurry of betting, they got all in and Stacy showed pocket 9s. Dennis held AK and the only thing that would save Stacey was one of two remaining 9s, but neither appeared (last two cards were 4 3) and it was done.

Stacy Kopacz finished in 10th place, earning $11,790.

That's the end of play for today. The final 9 players are baggin' and taggin' -- I'll get the chip counts posted shortly.

Shawn Quillin (11th) and John Hayes (12th)

Two short-stacks get all in agaist the monster stack of Young Phan. John Hayes held A9 offsuit and Shawn Quillin held JT off. Young's pocket deuces were in the lead, but he had a lot of overcards to dodge. Miraculously, the board came 3 6 Q 4 4 and Young's baby pair was good enough to felt two players at once.

John Hayes finished in 12th place, earning $11,790.
Shawn Quillin finished in 11th place, earning $11,790.

The final 10 players have drawn seats and moved to a single table, where they will continue play until one more person is eliminated.

Derek DeMolet - 13th place

Derek DeMolet moved in from the small blind and got called by Joe Lusby in the big. Derek got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, as he rolled over T4. Joe held AQ and it was good for the pot, leaving Derek with only about 5K. Then Derek got in again on the next hand (button) and since the all-in was so small, Bryan Sapp called from the big blind with 54 suited. Derek held A5 off and the board was T 6 2 7 K -- Derek doubled up with Ace-high. On the very next hand, Derek moved in again from the cutoff and again was called by Bryan in the small blind. Derek's pocket 9s were ahead of Bryan's pocket 7s, but the board came 4 8 K 5 6 giving Bryan the straight and the pot.

Derek DeMolet finished in 13th place, earning $10,317.

Thursday, 05th of April 2007 03:45 PM

Joel Casper finished in 15th place, earning $10,317.

Armando Pagliari - 14th place

Tim McCarthy raised from the cutoff and Armando moved all in from the button. After getting a count, Tim asked the dealer if he can tell Armando what his hand is. After the floor was called and there was some discussion, Tim asked "Can you beat pocket Jacks?" and Armando's immediate answer was "yes". Tim said "I call" and rolled over pocket Queens. Armando held AT offsuit. Board came K 3 K 3 6 and Armando was busted.

Armando Pagliari finished in 14th place, earning $10,317.

Adam Friedman - 16th place

In a battle of the blinds, Adam Friedman raised to 4K from the small, then Dennis Anness kicked it on up to 14K from the big. Adam then moved in and Dennis called, showing AT. Adam was ahead with AK, until both an Ace and a Ten landed on the flop, giving Dennis two pair and the pot.

Adam Friedman finished in 16th place, earning $8,843.

Thursday, 05th of April 2007 02:23 PM

Barry Greenstein - 17th place

Young Phan raised to 6K from the cutoff and Barry Greenstein jacked it on up to 25K from the button. Back to Young, who moved all in. Barry called all-in, showing AQ, but he was trailing Young's pocket Tens. The flop brought an Ace for Barry, but also brought a Ten for Young to make a set and Barry was unable to catch up.

Barry Greenstein finished in 17th place, earning $8,843.

Thursday, 05th of April 2007 02:14 PM

Troy Sutton - 18th place

Troy Sutton moved his chips in from the cutoff and got called by Young Phan on the button. Troy's K 9 was going to need help to beat Young's pocket Jacks. But alas, the board came Q T 7 3 3 and Troy was busted.

Troy Sutton finished in 18th place, earning $8,843.

Thursday, 05th of April 2007 01:51 PM

Ynes Guerra got his last chips in with KQ and got action from Armando Pagliari who had him dominated with AQ. Board came 9 A 2 9 K and Armando made the bigger pair to make Ynes the bubble-boy for this tournament, finishing in 19th place.

The final 18 players are now drawing for seats and moving to the final two tables.

On the first hand today, Craig Sorrell got his chips in with AQ and ran into the pocket Kings of Tim McCarthy. Kevin Marcotte has also busted out.
