| 1 | Rajendra Patel | 3,347,000 | | 2 | Paul Matteo | 570,000 | | 3 | Fred Goldberg | 1,044,000 | | 4 | Seth Berger | 1,505,000 | | 5 | Allen Kessler | 444,000 | | 6 | Antonio 'Bagels' Cavezza | 1,391,000 | | Total chips in play | 8,300,000 | | Players remaining | 6 | | Average stack | 1,383,333 |
With more than a third of the total chips in play, Rajendra (Raj) Patel comes to the final table with a huge advantage. Raj, from Rocky Hill, CT, is one of four locals that have made this final table and are hoping to bring home the championship and over $1.2 million. Raj has some previous tournament cashes under his belt, but is still waiting for his first big win. He showed how rocky he could be on day 4, so it will be interesting if he continues that tight play or if he loosens up now that he’s made the TV table. Paul Mattteo, another local from Plainville, CT, will have his work cut out for him today. He’s the senior player at this final table and he’s got a mountain of chips planted on his right. Coming to the final table with only 570K in chips, he’s going to have to get busy early or risk losing his chips to the ever-growing blinds and antes. Fred Goldberg of Hollywood, FL, is best known for his 10th place finish at the 2006 WSOP Main Event, where he pocketed a cool $1.1 million, but missed that final table by just one slot. He’s now got a shot at $1.2 million and a major title. With just over a million chips, he’s got the ammunition he needs to challenge the chip leader. Seth Berger of Malbern, PA, is another local looking to make a name for himself and take down that $1.2 million. He’s second in chips coming to the final table with just over 1.5 million chips. Allen Kessler is the last well-known pro in this tournament and he hails from Huntingdon Valley, PA, but says Las Vegas is his favorite place. He’s got too many cashes to mention, including a final table last week here at Foxwoods. He’s also got a World Poker Tour final table to his credit -- He finished 3rd at the Season 4 WPT Invitational. He’s the short-stack at today’s final table with only 444K, so he’s got a big hill to climb. The final 6 is rounded out by Antonio (Tony) ‘Bagels’ Cavezza, another local. He’s in the middle of the pack, chips-wise, so it will be interesting to see how he tackles this final table.
