Since the $10K WPT event at the Borgata begins tomorrow, Daniel and some other players who are still here have chartered a plane from the Memphis airport to Atlantic City (apparently there are no direct commercial flights from Memphis to AC). I believe the deal is that whoever wins today's event pays the charter bill.

Thursday, 25th of January 2007 10:00 PM

Hand 101: Gary raised to 250K and Daniel called. Flop was T J 5 and Daniel moved all in. Gary called, showing A J for top pair; Daniel held T 9 for middle pair and the flush draw. Turn was 2 completing Daniel's flush and doubling him up to about 1.9 million. With that pot he is back in the chip lead.

Thursday, 25th of January 2007 09:39 PM

Hand 93: Kido moved all in and Daniel (small blind) moved in over the top. Kido held 97 off and Daniel showed AQ off. Board came 7 9 3 5 and Daniel was drawing dead. Kido doubled up and Daniel was left with about 400K. And STILL no one has departed this final table.

JC Tran - 6th place

Hand 94: Young raised to 270K and JC called from the big blind. Flop was T 7 3 . JC moved all in and Young called, showing 97 ('the Destroyer') for a pair of 7s. JC held K J and needed help. Which he got on the turn: K . It looked like JC would double up, until the river: 9 and Young made two pair to FINALLY send someone to the rail.

JC Tran finished in 6th place, earning $142,810.

Hand 45: Kido raised to 80K and Gary moved all in for 377K more. Back to Kido, who asked Gary what he wanted him to do. During the chatter, Kido said something that sounded like "I call" and Johnny Grooms was called to make a ruling. He ruled that Kido made a verbal declaration of call, so he was forced to call, showing K 7 . Gary held AQ off and the lead. Board came 4 A 6 6 7 and Gary doubled up with the pair of Aces.

Blinds up to 25K/50K with 5K antes.

Kido held T 8 , nullifying Young's draw with a higher one. Young was left looking for an offsuit 7 or 5, but the last two cards were 2 T and Kido took the huge pot with a pair of Tens. With that hand, he became the chip leader.

Young Cho Heads to Final as Chip Leader

Today, Young Cho heads to the final table of the 2007 World Poker Open, the chip leader of the final six players. With almost a 2-1 chip advantage over second place Daniel Negreanu, who just became the second player to cash in four consecutive World Poker Tour events, his chances are certainly better than if the situation were reversed!

Daniel Negreanu - Enters as 2nd Place

Daniel Negreanu, with just over a million in chips, is in a solid second place as we start the day. His performance at WPT events has been phenomenal as of late!

A native of Toronto, Daniel recognized early on in his life that he had a knack for gambling and, more specifically, poker. So confident was he that at the age of 21, Daniel dropped out of college just one credit shy of graduation, and moved to Las Vegas to pursue poker full time.

Click here to read Daniel's full bio!

Kido Pham

Kido Pham has never won a WPT title before - but he's come close. In 2004 Kido finished in 2nd place at the Festa al Lago WPT event, taking home almost half a million dollars.

Kido also played in the 2006 Tournament of Champions for the World Series of Poker, finishing in 8th place for a $25,000 win.

Brian Sumner

Brian Sumner is another relative unknown, though certainly at the completion of this event he'll have made a name for himself. Entering the final table in fourth place, he's far from out of the running for the payday worth almost $1,000,000.

Gary Kainer

In fifth place, Bay City, TX native, Gary Kainer is no slouch. He might not be a big name, easily recognizable, but he certainly has talent. Gary placed 46th last year in the World Poker Tour Five Diamond World Poker Classic / Doyle Brunson North American Classic (phew). He also made an appearance in event 40 of the 2006 World Series of Poker. Regardless of his finish, today, it will be his biggest take-down by far.

JC Tran

Last, rounding out the final 6, is JC Tran. Born in Vietnam, and now living in Sacramento, this young player proved his smarts long ago with a degree in Business Administration. He's now a professional poker player, and a force to be reckoned with.

Though he has yet to win a bracelet, or a WPT title, Tran is a dominant player on the circuit. He has numerous first-place finishes in the WPT preliminary events leading up to the main show, has cashed in countless WSOP events, and has amassed more than $2 Million in career wins.
