Antonio Ribiero - 7th place

Robert opened for 70K and Antonio moved in. Robert called, showing pocket Tens. Antonio was in bad shape with AT, having only one live card. Board was T 9 6 Q 5 and Robert took the pot with trip Tens.

That's it for today. The TV final table is now set. Final chip counts coming shortly.

Tuesday, 09th of January 2007 05:02 PM

Robert Ford has been very quiet today, but finally made his all-in move (738K) with pocket Jacks. Jonathan Little made the call with AK offsuit. Board was 9 7 2 2 6 and Robert doubled up.

One more player has to be eliminated before we can call it a day.

Scott Clements - 8th place

Scott moved his last 473K in and made it all the way to Frank Rusnak in the big blind. Frank called, showing his pocket Aces. Scott held pocket Tens and was in bad shape. He got no help from the board and was busted.

Scott Clements finished in 8th place, earning $151,873.

Tuesday, 09th of January 2007 04:43 PM

Antonio opened for 150K and Robert Mizrachi pushed in for another 490K, which Antonio called. Antonio's AQ was in bad shape against Robert's pocket Aces. No help from the board and Robert doubled up and is now back to about 1.3 million.

Jonathan Friedberg - 9th place

Robert Mizrachi got all-in with AK against short-stacked Frank Rusnak's pocket 4s. Board came 7 5 6 2 8 giving Frank the straight and the double up.

On a flop of J 2 8 rainbow, all checked. Turn was another 8 and Jon Friedberg (big blind) bet 200K. Ryan folded and Isaac called. River wsa a 3 and after a pause, Jon moved all in. Isaac called. Jon held pocket 5s for two pair, but Isaac showed pocket 2s for deuces-full and he takes yet another huge pot, sending Jon to the rail.

Jonathan Friedberg finished in 9th place, earning $123,617.

Following the 4 K 9 flop, Ryan (big blind) lead with 110K. Antonio came over the top for another 190K and Ryan called. Turn was K ; Ryan checked, Antonio pushed out two stacks of red chips (400K) and Ryan called quickly. River was 5 making a flush possible. Both checked and Antonio showed KJ for trip Kings; Ryan showed AK for trip Kings with a bigger kicker and he dragged a nice pot.

That was the end of the level and players went on break.

Tuesday, 09th of January 2007 03:51 PM

After a raise to 70K and two callers, Robert Mizrachi moved all-in for 244K. The original raiser, Frank Rusnak, then re-raises all in and forces the other two players out. Frank shows pocket 8s and Robert's steal attempt is exposed: He holds 7 3 . Luck was on his side, however, as the board came T 5 2 3 7 and Robert doubled up with two pair.

Tuesday, 09th of January 2007 03:24 PM

Robert Mizrachi made it 70K to go two off the button and Isaac jacked it up to 220K from the cutoff, which Robert called. Flop was A 9 9 . Both checked and the turn was T . Robert checked, Isaac fired 260K, and Robert called. River was the J and Robert checked. Isaac said "all-in" and proceeded to sit motionless while staring at the felt. At least I think he was staring at the felt, but he was wearing sunglasses, so it is hard to tell. Robert was in the tank for several minutes and seemed agonized by the decision. He has alreay committed almost half a million chips to this pot -- almost half of his stack. When he finallly released his hand to the dealer, Isaac leaned back and let out a huge sigh.

On the next hand, Robert Mizrachi limped. Frank called from the button, and both blinds took the flop for the minimum (24K). On the A 9 A flop, all checked to Frank on the button who bet 75K. Antonio called from the small blind and the other two folded. Turn was the 6 and Antonio lead out with 110K. Frank came over the top making it 300K and Antonio moved all-in. After a couple of minutes, Frank folded.

They have to play until only 6 remain and with 9 players left, the action has slowed considerably. We are very close to the "flop-free" zone and are only seeing a flop every few orbits.

Tuesday, 09th of January 2007 01:55 PM

Here are some rough chip guess-timates:

Isaac Haxton6,700,000

Paul Lui - 10th place

Paul made it 55K and got action from Ryan. On the T 9 2 rainbow flop, Paul moved in and Ryan called with pocket Tens for top set. Paul held K Q for nothing but a gut-shot draw, needing a Jack to survive. No such luck and he was busted.

Paul Lui finished in 10th place, earning $98,894.

Level 19: Blinds 10K/20K with 3K antes. Play has resumed.

Tuesday, 09th of January 2007 01:12 PM

Mario Silvestri - 12th place

With 8 8 2 on the board, Frank Rusnak pushed 150K in the pot and Mario Silvestri moved in. After a little thought, Frank called, showing A8 for trip 8s. Mario showed K Q for the flush draw. Last two cards blanked and Frank doubled up, crippling Mario to less than one big blind.

Mario was under the gun on the next hand and moved his last chips in. Three players call the blind and they take the flop of A K J. Jonathan Little bet 20K, Paul Lui called, and Jon Friedberg folded. Turn was a 9 and Jonathan pushed 70K out. Paul gave up and Jonathan showed QT for the Broadway straight. Mario held pocket Queens and was drawing slim for a split pot, needing a Ten, but the river blanked him and he was done.

Mario Silvestri finished in 12th place, earning $59,336.

Justin Bonomo - 11th place

Justin made it 45K to play up front and Isaac Haxton jacked it up another 120K.  Justin made it 400K straight and Isaac moved in. After a bit of thought, Justin called all in, showing pocket Kings and his fears were confirmed -- Isaac held pocket Aces. No help for Justin and he was busted and the chip leader just extended his lead.

Justin Bonomo finished in 11th place, earning $77,702.

The final 10 players are redrawing seats and moving to a single table.

Tuesday, 09th of January 2007 01:00 PM

Luis Chan - 14th place

Antonio Ribeiro checked the A T 8 flop to Luis Chan who fired 100K. Antonio then moved in on him and put Luis to the test. After a few moments, Luis called, showing J9 for the open-ended straight draw. Antonio held KJ for King-high and the lead. The turn was a King giving Antonio a bigger lead and the 8 on the river was no help for Luis.

Luis Chan finished in 14th place, earning $45,915.

Frank Parisi - 13th place

With 3 2 J on the board, Frank Parisi gets all in against Scott Clements, who held pocket Tens. Frank had 54 suited and needed help to survive. Last two cards were 3 T and Frank was done.

Frank Parisi finished in 13th place, earning $45,915.

Tuesday, 09th of January 2007 12:26 PM

Joe Marcal - 16th place

Well, that didn't take long. About 11 minutes into play today, Joe Marcal pumped it up and got re-popped by chip leader Isaac Haxton. Joe moved in and got the insta-call from Isaac, who held pocket Aces. Joe held Ak and was in bad shape. No help from the board and Joe's got the rest of the day off.

Joe Marcal finished in 16th place, earning $45,915.

Erik Riise - 15th place

On the other table, they took a flop that was Ten-high and Erik Riise got all in with QT against the AT held by Mario Silvestri.  No help for Erickand he's also headed for the beach.

Erik Riise finished in 15th place, earning $45,915.

Tuesday, 09th of January 2007 12:02 PM

The final 16 are assembling now and drawing seats at the final two tables. I'll get their seat assignments posted shortly. Cards will be in the air soon.
