$2,500 Senior's No Limit Hold 'Em by Jon Eaton

Tuesday, 12th of December 2006 11:07 AM

Today is day 2 of the Senior's No Limit event, and I'm taking a much deserved day off. It's been seven straight days of final tables for me and I'm a little burnt out. I'm thankful that this is the Five Diamond and not the WSOP, because one week is just the tip of the iceburg at the WSOP! It's been a series of some of the best final table action I've ever seen. In fact I've learned a whole lot as a result.

I was discussing that very thing with a friend I made recently. Zach, an actor from LA as well as full time high stakes poker pro, was telling me how much of an edge he thought I had with all my database of knowledge of players. I must have seen 15+ WSOP final tables all the way through (and seen literally every hand of the final table), six or seven WPT final tables, and I've sweated at least two to three dozen tournaments almost all the way through with press-level access to the floor.

Throw this in with having seen literally hundreds of hours of poker on TV, and I have an encyclopedia of knowledge on players like Daniel Negreanu, Antonion Esfandiari, Ted Forrest, and the rest. We both agree that the next time I can get into a main event, I'll have a much bigger edge than most people would give a near-rookie in those fields could possibly expect to have.

Anyway, today I am going to give you the chip counts for day 2 of the senior's event & yesterday's results. I guess the seniors aren't keen on the idea of playing until 3a and then returning at 3p to finish the tournament, so they are having two short days followed by the final table. Makes sense.

Later tonight I will hopefully have a report on another final table I make at Caesar's. Tomorrow I'll have the full results from the seniors' day 2, and then Thursday is day 1 of the $15,000 main event. Don't miss out on my coverage!
