$3,000 No Limit Hold 'Em by Jon Eaton

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 07:11 PM

And like that it's over. On a flop of 6 2 3 , De Wolfe check-raises all in over Perry's 50k bet. Perry calls and shows A 4 . De Wolfe has 6 5 . The turn is a 5, giving Perry the straight, but De Wolfe top two pairs. The river is an 8. Roland De Wolfe goes home in second place.

Ralph Perry is the winner and takes the $25,000 WPT seat & the bracelet!

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 07:09 PM

Ralph Perry has built up to around 900k in chips to Roland De Wolfe's 300k.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 06:51 PM

They finally agree to chop the money and play for the bracelet. The winner will get $140,000 (and change) + $25,000 WPT seat (which Roland already has, so he'd get $25k cash). The loser gets $165k.

The first hand they play, they get all of the chips in the middle. The flop is A 4 6 . Perry shows 3 5 and De Wolfe A 4 . The turn is an 8 and river a deuce, giving Perry the straight. He doubles up.

Today is Ralph Perry's son's 10th birthday. He is promising him a bracelet for a gift. Now that he has the chip lead, it's looking like a reality.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 06:37 PM

Angelil moves all in from the button for 50k and De Wolfe calls from the big blind. Angelil has K 8 , and De Wolfe 6 4 . An eight on the flop doubles up Angelil.

The next hand, De Wolfe moves all in from the small blind and Angelil calls all in with A 5 . De Wolfe has 6 9 . De Wolfe flops a nine and Rene Angelil is our third place finisher earning $62,175.

They're still discussing a deal as we speak.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 06:35 PM

De Wolfe 800k
Angelil 80k
Perry 330k

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 06:31 PM

Angelil raises 30k from the small blind and Perry moves in. Angelil calls wi

th K T and Perry tables A Q . The flop is A J 9 , turn J , and river 7 . Perry doubles up.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 06:28 PM

Ralph Perry's stack is dwindling after facing off with De Wolfe again. Perry raises 30k more from the small blind and De Wolfe calls. The flop is 6 J 7 and Perry bets 60k. De Wolfe calls and the turn is the 5 . Perry bets 100k and De Wolfe moves all in for about 230k more. Perry thinks for a minute or two and De Wolfe calls the clock. Finally Perry calls and shows K 6 . De Wolfe has 6 4 . The river is the T , and De Wolfe doubles up yet again with a flush.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 06:22 PM

De Wolfe gets some chips back. With over 100k in the pot already, he bets 100k on the river on a king high board. Angelil calls and shows K5, but De Wolfe has aces.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 06:19 PM

De Wolfe raises on the button and Angelil moves all in. De Wolfe makes the call for 165k with A 9 , and Angelil has A K . Angelil flops a king and De Wolfe must catch running nines. Only one nine appears, and Angelil doubles up.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 06:17 PM

The blinds have gone up to 8k-16k with a 3k ante.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 06:04 PM

De Wolfe limps on the button, Angelil completes from the small, and Perry raises 35k more from the large blind. De Wolfe calls and Angelil folds. The flop is T 6 2, and Perry bets 50k. De Wolfe calls. The turn is an ace. Perry bets 100k and De Wolfe quickly mucks in disgust.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 05:57 PM

Perry raises from the small blind 30k more and De Wolfe calls. The flop is 8 3 8 . Perry bets 40k and De Wolfe instantly moves all in. Perry thinks for a half minute then calls and shows A K . De Wolfe raps the table and shows Q 6 . The turn is the 6 , shifting the tables. The river is the T and De Wolfe doubles up again. Perry is down to around 350k after having almost 900k a few pots ago.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 05:53 PM

Roland De Wolfe 450k
Rene Angelil 140k
Ralph Perry 640k

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 05:46 PM

Perry opens from the small blind and De Wolfe shoves from the big blind. Perry calls instantly and shows K Q . De Wolfe has Q J . The flop is 8 Q 4 , and the turn is the 5 , giving De Wolfe some hope. The river is the J , and De Wolfe doubles up.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 05:44 PM

Play has slowed just a bit. Roland seems to be using the Johnny Chan method, as he is constantly sniffing what appears to be a plum. I'm not too keen on my fruit identification so I might be wrong on that one.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 05:31 PM

Roland De Wolfe 250k
Rene Angelil 180k
Ralph Perry 870k

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 05:27 PM

Luong moves all in from under the gun, and Perry calls from the small blind. Perry has 7 7 and Luong A 8 . The flop is bad for Luong, coming 7 3 9 . He gets help when the T comes, but the river is a 3 and Gioi Luong is our fourth place finisher earning $33,905.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 05:23 PM

Perry opens for 30k and Plastik moves in from the small blind for 78k more. Perry calls and shows Q T . Plastik has the lead with A J . However the board comes Q 8 6 6 9 and David Plastik is our fifth place finisher, earning $25,435.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 05:19 PM

Gould has the lead with A Q . The flop is brutal for Gould, coming down 2 T J . The 9 gives Gould help, but the river is a trey and Peter Gould is our sixth place finisher, earning $19,785. Players are now on a 15-minute break, and will return to play 6k-12k with a 2k ante.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 04:56 PM

Two hands in a row, Rene & Ralph opened on the button and Roland moved all in. Both times the button folded and Roland collected the pot.

Gioi Luong 120k
Peter Gould 100k
David Plastik 130k

Ralph Perry 480k

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 04:43 PM

Gioi Luong is the table "cockroach," as David Plastik & Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy have described him. He won't go away. He reraises Roland De Wolfe all in and Roland calls with KQ. Gioi makes a pair of aces with A9 and doubles up yet again.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 04:38 PM

Roland De Wolfe opens for 21k, and David Plastik puts him all in from the small blind. Roland quickly folds and asks David if he had ace king, which David nods in acknowledgement.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 04:36 PM

Peter Gould puts the last of his chips in the middle with K 9 against Ralph Perry's J T . No one improves and Gould's king high doubles his chip stack.

Peter Gould, Massoud "Solo" Nikjouian, and David Plastik

Play is now at the 1k ante, 4k-8k blind level.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:59 PM

Massoud "Solo" Nikjouian gets all of his chips in the middle. Both Solo and Ralph Perry check the ace high flop. They then go to war on the turn and Ralph has the lead with AQ against Massoud's A4. No four comes and Massoud "Solo" Nikjouian is out in seventh, earning $14,130.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:56 PM

Haven't seen many flops. Lance Allred just left and came by the table to apologize for getting a little ill tempered. He took a few rough hands to get knocked out and knocked his chair over in the process. He stormed from the table, but showed class apologizing on his way out.

Massoud "Solo" Nikjouian moved in three pots in a row a few orbits ago. That's about the most action we've seen.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:48 PM

Action folds to Ralph Perry who opens for 24k from the button. Gioi Luong moves in for a small raise and Perry makes the call with T 9 . Gioi is in good shape with two jacks when the board comes K 7 3 . A deuce comes on the turn and Perry is drawing dead. Luong doubles up yet again.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:41 PM

Roland De Wolfe 180k
Gioi Luong 35k
Peter Gould 130k
Massoud Nikjouian 80k
David Plastik 240k
Rene Angelil 260k
Ralph Perry 280k

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:33 PM

25 minutes remain at this level. They will play 4k-8k with a 1k ante next.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:30 PM

Rene opens and Bill Ferrand moves in with A 9 . Rene Angelil makes the easy call with A K , and big slick holds up. Bill Ferrand is out in eighth earning $11,305.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:27 PM

Gioi Luong calls allin with A 5 against Ralph Perry who opened in late position with T 9 . The board comes down 4435A and Gioi wins with aces up.

Action folds to Rene Angelil in the cutoff who opens for 21k. Tony Ma calls allin for 12k from the small blind and shows A Q . Rene shows K J . The board comes 7 T J 9 2 and Tony Ma is our 9th place finisher. He earns $9,045 for his efforts.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:18 PM

The blinds are 3k-6k with a 1k ante. We're now nine handed. Players were squirming around in their chairs trying to square up to make for a nine-handed table, and they are now situated. I'll get some pictures up in a little bit.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:16 PM

Allred is out. He moves in for his last 22k with pocket kings. Rene calls from the large blind with A3o and flops an ace. Lance Allred takes tenth place for $6,785.

Tuesday, 05th of December 2006 03:08 PM

I actually arrived on time today, but forgot my press pass! No worries, I am recognized enough by the floor that the only people who will hassle me are the security guys here in red at the Bellagio. I'll just have to constantly say "Jack can vouch for me" all day I guess. It's easy to forget a press pass when it's burried under a mountain of dirty clothes like mine is.

Action just got under way here at the final table. No one has gone broke yet. I'll report on the action as it happens.

Today's $5,000 event drew 175 players for a whopping $848,000 prize pool.

As I type this David Plastik is all in against Lance Allred. The flop is A J 8, and David has pocket aces. Allred is in bad with AQ. An 8 on the turn fills "C-4" Plastik up and seals the deal. He doubles up.
