The end time has arrived and the players applaud when the announcement is made. It’s been a long, long day. Oh, did I mention it was a long day?
There are less than 900 players remaining from today’s tournament. Players from this Day 1B flight, will return to play their second day on Tuesday, August 1, along with the remaining players from flight 1A.

John Juanda pushes all-in after another player goes all-in for 800, before the flop. No One calls Juanda’s raise. He turns over As Qc, and the other all-inner shows Qs Ts. The board comes Jd 6s 5h Ac 9s, and Juanda takes the pot with a pair of Aces. He’s still short stacked with about 11.5K.

Mike McNeil loses chips when there’s 3200 in the pot and the flop shows Ah Ad Qs. McNeil and the BB both check it. They also check the turn and river, when they bring Ts Ks. The BB blind player turns over Js Td, and McNeil reveals 8c 8s. His opponent’s straight dominates McNeil’s two pair, and his stack drops to about 25K.

Phil Ivey loses a chunk of chips when he bets to 1500, and the BB calls. The flop comes 9s 7h 6c, and Ivey bets 2500. His opponent pushes all-in with nearly 15K. Ivey gives it plenty of thought, then folds. He is down to about 16K now.

Can Kim Hua takes a shot at building his stack when there’s already 4500 in the pot, he calls the pre-flop raise. The flop comes Js 9d 6c. Hua’s opponent bets 2400. Hua quickly pushes all-in. The other player folds to him, and Hua scoops the pot. He has about 20K now

Mike Caro gains more chips when he calls an 1100 bet, and the flop comes 9h 5h 3s. Both players check it, and then the turn brings Td. Caro bets out 1500, and his opponent folds to him. Caro shows his hand, As 9s. His stack grows to about 28K.

Ken Goldman doubles up when the board shows Kc 5s 5c 7c, and Ernie Scherer boldly pushes all of his 70K in the middle. Without hesitation, Goldman pushes his last chips in, to call. Scherer shows Ac Qc for nice flush. However, it’s not as nice as the full house that Goldman catches. He is happy to turn over his pocket 7’s for the win. The 40K in front of him now, breathes new life into his game.

Theo Tran gathers more chips when the player on the button bets to 2400, and everyone but Tran folds. In the BB, Tran makes the call. The flop comes K 6 3, and the other player bets another 2400. Tran calls again, and then 3h comes on the turn. Both players check it. Tran checks the river, also, when it brings 8h. His opponent bets 6K, and Tran calls, one more time. Tran must have had a very good take on his opponent, because he wins the pot with As Js, when the other player turns over Q T. Tran’s stack is a healthy 74K.

Men “The Master” Nguyen sends Patrik Antonius to the rail. It happens when Nguyen bets to 1500, UTG, and Antonius pushes all-in with about 4K. Nguyen and one other player call. The flop comes Ad 9s 3c, and it’s checked through. Kc on the turn also is checked through. With Kd on the river, Nguyen bets 2k, and the other player folds. Nguyen turns over Kh Qc, for trip K’s. Antonius can’t compete with his As Qh, and is eliminated. Nguyen sits with about 42K in front of him.

Bernard Lee is all-in with A 5, and his opponent shows 9h 9d. The board comes 8s 6d 4c 5d Jh, giving Lee a pair of 5’s. Lee’s pair is dominated by his opposer’s pair of 9’s, and he is eliminated.

David Chiu continues up the board. He bets 950 from UTG and gets a caller. The flop comes 7h 7d 3c, which they both check. On the turn of 9c, Chiu bets out 1500. His opponent calls again. With 5s on the river, Chiu bets 3500 more. The other player folds to him, and Chiu increases to about 35K.

Jeff Madsen makes a winning move when the board shows Kc 7h 5h, The SB bets 1k and Madsen calls. The turn brings 3d, and Madsen bets 3K, which his opponent calls. With 2s on the river, Madsen pushes all-in for around 9K. The SB thinks for a few, then mucks his hand. Madsen lives on with about 23K.

Annie Duke makes a winning call. When there’s already about 10K in the pot, and the board shows Th 8c 7c, Justin Sadauskas bets enough to put Duke all-in, to call. She stands up and leans on the on the table in serious comtemplation. After a few minutes, she calls with all of her stack, of about 9500. She turns over Jc Jh, and Sadauskas shows Ah 9c. The turn and river come 3d Tc, doubling up Duke. Whew!

Both Barry Shulman and Joe Sebok have been eliminated from the tournament.
Shulman pushes all-in with pocket rockets, against another player, holding pocket K’s. The flop brings a K, and Shulman’s A A gets cracked by a set of K’s.
