by Kaelaine MintonTuesday, 16th of May 2006 01:53 AM Here are the official chip counts for the final 27:
These 27 players will return at 1pm Tuesday to play until only 6 remain. Seats will be re-drawn overnight and I'll post the new seat assignments at the beginning of the Day 3 blog. And these are the folks who were dispatched today:
Tuesday, 16th of May 2006 01:36 AM Never mind the chip approximations. John Juanda busted Jason Lester on the first hand of the new level and the players are counting and bagging their chips now, so I'll get the official counts posted when they are ready. Jason Lester finished in 28th place, earning $16,647. His AK went down in flames to John's A2 when a deuce flopped. The TD has announced that play will begin at 1pm tomorrow instead of noon due to the late hour, so the final 27 will reconvene then. Tuesday, 16th of May 2006 01:30 AM Play has resumed. Level 13: 1K ante, 4K/8K blinds. They colored up and removed the purple 500 chips during the break, so the stacks are slightly easier to count. Chip approximations coming... Tuesday, 16th of May 2006 01:06 AM Break at end of level 12. Players get 15 minutes and I get to count chips. Tuesday, 16th of May 2006 12:58 AM We're still stuck at 28 players. Steve Frederick moved all in for 89K after a raise to 18K. Alan Brodsky called and showed pocket Jacks. Steve had AK of diamonds and caught an Ace on the flop. That's all he needed to double up. On a board of K 6 3 Q T -- all clubs -- Hassan Habib thought Darrell Dicken had checked, so turned up his hand -- 65 with the 5 of clubs for a slight improvement on the board. Darrell proceeded to bet 40,000. After a few seconds thought, Hassan called and Darrell showed 32 with the 2 of clubs -- no improvement on the board. Darrell picked up his 40,000 thinking it was a split pot, but had to give it back as the pot was pushed to Hassan. Tuesday, 16th of May 2006 12:26 AM
Rudy Kretzmeier finished in 30th place, earning $16,647. Kristy Gazes finished in 29th place, earning, guess what? $16,647 Play is now hand for hand until one more player busts out, ending play for today. Tuesday, 16th of May 2006 12:15 AM Jeff Chapman finished in 33rd place, earning $16,647. Matthew Ehrlich finished in 32nd place, earning $16,647. Minh Nguyen finished in 31st place, earning $16,647. Monday, 15th of May 2006 11:51 PM
Joe Cassidy moved in from the small blind with J8 offsuit and was called by Devin Porter in the big blind with pocket 5s. No help from the board and Joe is outta here. Joe Cassidy finished in 35th place, earning $16,647. Mark Cole finished in 34th place, earning $16,647. Monday, 15th of May 2006 11:40 PM
Thanh Tran gets all in against Rudy Kretzmeier. Tranh's A Thanh (Thandat) Tran finished in 36th place, earning $16,647. Monday, 15th of May 2006 11:15 PM
Anthony Romanello bubbles. Shane Schleger raised to 12K under the gun, then Anthony moved all in for 78,500. Matt Keikoan was on the button and seemed pained, but eventually called. Everyone folded back to Anthony, who showed Players are on break as the house collects their IDs, as all remaining 36 players are guaranteed to win at least $16,647. Here's a reminder of the payouts:
Play will continue tonight until 9 more players are eliminated, all of which will receive $16,647. The final 27 will return tomorrow at noon. Monday, 15th of May 2006 10:38 PM Steve Brecher is out. Kathy Liebert is out. 37 players remain and they are now playing hand-for-hand, which means each table wlll play one hand and then wait until all 5 tables have finished before beginning the next hand. Monday, 15th of May 2006 10:34 PM David Williams was in the small blind and Harry Demetriou was in the big blind. David called a raise from Harry to see the flop, which was K K 9. David led out with 100K and then Harry moved all in. David folded immediately and passed more than 100K over to Harry. Monday, 15th of May 2006 10:28 PM It looks like Norm Ketchum is out. His table broke and he's nowhere to be found. Also gone are Herman Zango, Huck Seed, Randy Gil, and Toto Leonidas. The board says 40 players remain. Monday, 15th of May 2006 10:12 PM Huck Seed and Randy Gil are gone. 43 players left, according to the board. Monday, 15th of May 2006 09:59 PM Here are some chip approximations from the break:
After the break, Stan Weiss busted Beverley Cheney on a horrible beat. He raised, she re-raised, he moved in, and she called with pocket tens. She was ahead of his pocket 8s, until the board came J 9 7 8 9 giving her a straight, but rivering a full house for him. Also gone are Jimmy Tran, Keith Sexton, Dayne Baverman, and Tom Schneider. The board says 44 players remain, only 37 get paid. Monday, 15th of May 2006 09:47 PM Play resumed in Level 11, 500 ante, 2K/4K blinds. Then the clock was stopped due to a discrepancy with the color up, and now play has resumed again. Working on chip counts... Monday, 15th of May 2006 09:26 PM Alex Johnson, Steve Greenberg, Greg Mueller, and Joe Graziano are done. Players are on break at end of level 10. Monday, 15th of May 2006 09:00 PM Phil Ivey was busted by Devin Porter. Jim Bechtel also gets the night off. The board says 56 players remaining. Monday, 15th of May 2006 08:29 PM The board says we're down to 61 players remaining. Among those departing: Steve Zolotow and Emad Alabsi. Monday, 15th of May 2006 08:11 PM Here's a partial list of approximate chip counts:
Monday, 15th of May 2006 07:54 PM Play has just resumed after the dinner break. 66 players remain. Word is they will play tonight until only 27 are left, no matter how long it takes (the structure sheet says 5 levels or 27, whichever comes first). Still compiling chip counts... |
