Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 06:25 PM

Raplh Perry raised to 5,000, then Bob Bright raised to 17,000, then Mimi Tran moved all in for 34,700 from the cutoff seat. Ralph folded, Bob called, and showed pocket Kings. Mimi had AK offsuit. Board came T 8 6 5 7 and Mimi was done in 28th place.

Play has stopped for the day. Players will be counting and bagging their chips and I'll post the end of day numbers as soon as I get them.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 06:00 PM

On a flop of 3 2 4 rainbow, Dan Alspach moved his last chips in and was called by Brian Jensen. Dan had pocket 9s and was in bad shape against Brian's pocket Jacks.  Runinng 4s were no help and Dan was out in 29th place.

One more to go until the end of the day.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 05:39 PM

Play has resumed. Level 10, 200 ante, 800/1,600 blinds.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 05:32 PM

Because there are still 29 players and it has been a while since anyone busted, they decided to takea 15 minute dinner break at the end of level 9, then resume play until only 27 are left, then stop for the day (no dinner break). While the players were on break, I got these approximate chip counts for the final 29:

We have stalled at 29 players. The day is supposed to end when we reach 27 players, but the TD wants to let the players decide when we reach that point. Also, there are about 20 minutes left in this round, after which would be the dinner break. We're not sure what's going to happen when, but a lot is depending on when the next 2 players go broke.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 04:36 PM

Alex Jacob is out, as is Virgil Beddingfield. 29 players left.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 04:28 PM

On a board of 6 5 3 4 with two diamonds, Erick Lindgren bet and Tony raised enough to put Erick all in. Erick thought about it for a while, then called, showing K7 for the 7-high straight. But Tony held 87 for the 8-high straight. A 9 on the river just made Tony's straight higher and Erick day done-er. 31 players left.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 04:10 PM

Danny Fuhs (pronounced 'Fuse') eliminated Dwayne Moyers. 32 players left.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 03:58 PM

Louis Pagnotti is out. David "Devilfish" Ulliott moved his last chips in with JT only to get called by AT - with the expected result: David is out. 33 players left.

Play is just now resuming after the break. Level 9, 600/1200 blinds with 100 ante. With 35 players left, the average stack is almost 60,000. Here are approximate chip counts from the break (still missing a few players):

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 03:24 PM

Nam Le raised to 4100 under the gun; Mimi Tran called; Erik Seidel called from the button. Flop was 8 3 9 with 2 diamonds. Nam bet 13,000, Mimi folded, Erik moved all in, and Nam called. Nam had pocket Aces, but unfortunately Erik had pocket 3s and had flopped a set. No help for Nam and he was out in 37th place.

As they were breaking table 37, Paul Fisher went out in 36th place, so there are 35 players remaining.

It appears that Jeff King is the chip leader with about 170,000+ chips. Break coming up soon.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 03:06 PM

John Gale is out. 37 players left. One more and they will break down to 4 tables.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 02:44 PM

John Gale lays down to an all in re-raise from Alex Jacob.

Charlie Ng is eliminated by Yossi Strasser.  Ozzie Kalil is out.  Joe Awada is out.  38 players left.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 02:31 PM

Dan Harrington called Mimi Tran's all in and was in bad shape. She held AQ of hearts and he had Q8 offsuit. The board came K T 3 K K and Dan was done.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 02:17 PM

Billy Baxter has dispatched Ted Forrest.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 02:07 PM

Play has resumed. Level 8, 100 ante, 400/800 blinds. 45 players left.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 02:02 PM

Ralph Perry - chip leader end of level 7

Players are on break. Just before the break, table 38 was broken, so I lost track of some players. Here are some approximate chip counts as of the break:

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 01:39 PM

Thor Hansen is out. Allen Kessler runs pocket Kings into the pocket Aces of Brian Jensen, and Allen is out.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 01:17 PM

More exits: Sam Kyu Chung and Larry Rieder, Jakcob Elbaz, Dino Moustakis.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 01:06 PM

John D'Agostino is out. Table 31 has been busted, so we're down to 6 tables with 2 empty seats - 52 players remaining.  More deartures:  Alan Smurfit, Chuck Kelley, Mike Wattel.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 01:02 PM

The 'table I would least like to sit at' today is table 34. Ralph Perry, the chip leader, was just moved there to balance tables. Others at that table: Mimi Tran, "Action" Dan Harrington, John D'Agostino, Tim Phan, Erik Seidel, Virgil Beddingfield, and David "DevilFish" Ulliott.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 12:55 PM

Recent eliminations: Sam Simon, Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson, Andy Bloch, Carlos Mortensen, Jean Gaspard, and Kent Washington.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 12:45 PM

Scotty Nguyen is gone. He got all in with pocket Jacks against the AK of Danny Fuhs and Danny hit an Ace.

Dan Alspach doubled through Yossi Strasser when his pocket Kings held up against Yossi's pocket 7s.

Table 35 was broken and those players have been moved to other tables. Down to 7 tables now.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 12:26 PM

Jeff King doubles up. On a flop of K 2 9, Jeff checked, Steve Sung bet, and Jeff moved all in (11,425). Steve called and showed AK offsuit for top pair, top kicker, but Jeff has pocket rockets and his Aces held up when running tens fell, so he doubled through.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 12:20 PM

Another fatality: On a flop of 7 A 2 rainbow, Chuck Kelly pushed all in (a bit over 30K) and was called by Steve Sung on his left. Chuck's AJ of diamonds was trailing Steve's AK offsuit and it stayed that way with the 8 and 6 that fell, to eliminate Chuck.

David Levi was the first player eliminated today.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 12:12 PM

Play is underway. Level 7: 300./600 blinds with 75 ante.

Tuesday, 09th of May 2006 11:30 AM

64 players remain in one of the toughest fields seen in quite a while. Many big name poker players were sent packing yesterday as we tore through the field of 209 that started at noon. By midnight, only a fraction of those remained.

Erick Lindgren was the early chip leader, as he busted TJ Cloutier on the FIRST HAND and doubled up. Erick managed to stay among the chip leaders all day and finished in 4th chip position. Sean McCabe grabbed the chip lead in level 3 and stayed there until late in the last level, finishing 3rd in chips. Ralph Perry and Danny Fuhs came out of nowhere late in level 6 and ended the day first and second in chips.

Play resumes at noon and will continue today until there are only 27 players left. Here's what they're playing for:
